Microsoft Copilot AI’s Bitcoin Price Prediction: A Conditional Outlook Amidst Market Technicals

Microsoft Copilot AI has generated a price prediction for Bitcoin, suggesting a potential surge to $180,000 by early 2027. However, this forecast is explicitly contingent on the return of a full-blown bull market in the fourth quarter. The AI’s projection is based on an analysis of historical data, current market technicals, and anticipated future market movements, but its realization is uncertain.

According to the AI’s forecast, a bullish range for Bitcoin is estimated between $140,000 and $180,000, with the possibility of exceeding $200,000 in a late-cycle scenario. At its current approximate price of $85,000, reaching $180,000 would represent a significant increase of about 110%. The AI’s prediction implies that if current trends continue and a bull market materializes, a similar magnitude of growth could be on the horizon. Nevertheless, the reliability of such predictions remains a key consideration, as the forecast is explicitly conditional on a full-blown bull market returning in Q4. Without this market condition, the $180,000 target may not be achievable, and the prediction thesis itself is currently unconfirmed, making any trade based solely on this forecast an unpredictable endeavor for observers.

    Verifiable Market Data and Technicals

In terms of verifiable market data, Bitcoin has recently shown signs of recovery, breaking out of a sequence of lower highs that had developed since May and reclaiming several key moving averages. Technical analysis from Reuters has identified approximately $81,781 as an important support level, with $86,500 now acting as a major resistance. CryptoQuant’s analysis aligns with this, pinpointing $81,700 as a significant level, matching Bitcoin’s 365-day moving average, and identifying resistance around $86,600 and $88,700.

The $87,000-$88,000 range is considered a critical yearly open level where Bitcoin is expected to encounter resistance. A sustained move above the $86,000-$88,000 region is interpreted as a removal of a significant technical obstacle, potentially paving the way toward the $100,000 mark. The next major milestone identified is around $98,000, with the all-time high of approximately $126,200 serving as a crucial level. Breaking decisively above $126,200 would signal a move into genuine price discovery, with minimal historical resistance thereafter.

Historically, Bitcoin experienced significant gains, including a +154% increase in 2023 and a +110% increase in 2024. A previous notable price point was reached on October 6, 2025, at approximately $126,200.

    Broader Market Context

Beyond price predictions, the broader market context suggests a potential rotation of attention towards early-stage infrastructure plays. This shift is attributed to the slower pace of growth for assets with a market capitalization exceeding $1.5 trillion, such as Bitcoin, compared to newer projects.

In this vein, Bitcoin Hyper, a new Layer 2 project for Bitcoin, is positioning itself with full SVM integration, aiming to enhance transaction speed and smart contract execution while maintaining Bitcoin’s base-layer security. The project’s presale has reportedly raised over $33.1 million, with its token priced at $0.0136864. Staking rewards are advertised at a 35% APY at launch. The project’s stated goal is to address Bitcoin’s limitations in transaction speed, fees, and programmability without compromising its core security.

Ultimately, while AI-driven predictions like that from Microsoft Copilot AI offer a glimpse into potential future scenarios, they remain speculative and heavily dependent on unconfirmed market conditions. Investors and observers are advised to focus on verifiable data, current technical levels, and the inherent uncertainties of market forecasting. The materials describe a narrow update: Microsoft Copilot AI has generated a price prediction for Bitcoin, suggesting it could reach $180,000 by early 2027 if a bull market occurs in Q4. Whether a full-blown bull market may return in Q4 remains a key uncertainty.

  • Bitcoin Cash Surges 28% in 24 Hours, Tops Crypto Market

Bitcoin Cash Surges 28% in 24 Hours, Tops Crypto Market

Bitcoin Cash Surges as CME Announces Futures, Grayscale Eyes ETF

Bitcoin Cash (BCH) experienced a significant surge of 28% over the past 24 hours, positioning it as the top performer among the 100 largest cryptocurrencies by market capitalization. This upward momentum propelled BCH’s price towards intraday highs between $330 and $347, boosting its market cap into the $6 billion to $7 billion range. Trading volumes during the session surpassed $1 billion.

    Key Catalysts Drive Price Rally

The primary driver behind this surge appears to be an announcement from CME Group detailing its plans to launch Bitcoin Cash futures contracts on October 19, 2026, subject to regulatory approval. The exchange intends to offer both standard contracts, each sized at 250 BCH, and micro contracts at 25 BCH, catering to traders with varying capital bases. This development comes as CME’s average daily notional volume in crypto futures reached $8.3 billion in the first half of 2026.

A secondary catalyst emerged around September 11, when Grayscale filed to convert its existing BCH Trust into a spot Exchange Traded Fund (ETF) slated to trade on NYSE Arca.

While the BCH protocol undergoes annual updates focused on enhancing scalability and smart contract functionality, these routine improvements do not appear to be linked to the recent price movement. Instead, the rally is attributed to sentiment and strategic positioning, fueled by the anticipation of regulated futures and ETF products potentially attracting new capital into the asset.

This pattern echoes a similar surge in August 2026, when BCH saw a roughly 29% increase driven by macroeconomic factors, absent any specific BCH-related developments.

    Market Infrastructure and Future Outlook

Bitcoin Cash currently has a circulating supply of approximately 20.09 million coins, nearing its hard cap of 21 million. The potential introduction of CME futures, followed by a spot ETF through Grayscale’s conversion filing, could position BCH among a select group of crypto assets with comprehensive institutional market infrastructure in the United States, should regulators approve both products.

Grayscale’s filing is particularly significant given the firm’s established success in navigating the trust-to-ETF conversion process, as demonstrated by its Bitcoin trust conversion which facilitated substantial new capital inflows.

The October 19 launch date for CME’s futures contracts represents the next critical milestone. Regulatory approval is not guaranteed, and any delays or rejections could potentially reverse some of the gains BCH has recently achieved.

The sustainability of BCH’s current price levels, which are fluctuating in the $300-$340 range following the initial spike, will hinge on whether the surge in trading volume signifies genuine new investor positioning or is primarily driven by short-term momentum trading.

  • Bitwise Avalanche ETF’s Staking Model Introduces New Demand Dynamics for AVAX Amidst Market Uncertainty

Bitwise Avalanche ETF’s Staking Model Introduces New Demand Dynamics for AVAX Amidst Market Uncertainty

The Bitwise Avalanche ETF (BAVA) has launched with an active staking strategy for a majority of its Avalanche (AVAX) holdings, a move that introduces new demand dynamics for AVAX and could influence future cryptocurrency ETF structures. This regulated vehicle, trading on NYSE Arca, is the first to offer direct exposure to Avalanche tokens and differentiates itself through its innovative staking approach.

    ETF Mechanics and Demand Impact

The BAVA ETF is designed to stake approximately 70% of its AVAX holdings to generate yield, targeting average staking rewards of about 5.4%. Bitwise is also waiving the 0.34% sponsor fee for the first month on the initial $500 million in assets. This active staking model aims to create structural demand for AVAX by purchasing tokens on the open market and then locking a significant portion into staking contracts, thereby reducing circulating supply.

While early inflows have been modest—with one recorded period showing around $231,000 and single-day peaks near $5 million—the potential for this mechanism to influence market dynamics exists as assets under management (AUM) grow. For context, AVAX was trading around $9.50 with a market capitalization of approximately $4.1 billion when the BAVA ETF went live. In the week following the ETF’s introduction, AVAX experienced a notable price increase, posting a 55% gain. However, the extent to which this price surge is directly attributable to the ETF’s launch and staking mechanism remains a subject of ongoing observation, and uncertainty remains regarding the long-term success and growth of the BAVA ETF’s AUM.

    Avalanche Network Capabilities

The underlying Avalanche network positions itself as an enterprise-grade blockchain, claiming a throughput of up to 4,500 transactions per second. Its customizable architecture allows for the creation of dedicated subnets, which have attracted interest from major organizations like Visa and FIFA for exploring tokenized assets and payment infrastructure.

    Future Implications and Uncertainties

The BAVA ETF’s innovative staking approach could serve as a blueprint for future cryptocurrency ETFs. Fund managers considering products for other staking-enabled tokens, such as Solana, Polkadot, or Cosmos, may examine BAVA’s structure as a potential model. However, at current levels, estimated between $18 million and $22 million shortly after launch, the impact of the staking mechanism on AVAX’s circulating supply is not yet significant enough to move the needle substantially. The potential influence of this model on broader market dynamics and its replication by other ETFs will depend on its sustained performance and market reception. The ETF’s structure represents a new source of demand for AVAX, but its ultimate impact is still unfolding.

    Broader Context

Source materials place the factual news in this context: The ETF, trading under the ticker BAVA on NYSE Arca, represents the first regulated vehicle offering direct exposure to Avalanche tokens, and it comes with a twist: most of the fund’s holdings are actively staked to generate yield.

    Why This Matters

The introduction of the Bitwise Avalanche ETF (BAVA) with its active staking strategy represents a novel approach within the regulated cryptocurrency investment landscape. This innovation in ETF structure, particularly its potential to influence demand and supply dynamics for underlying assets like AVAX, signals a developing trend in institutional crypto products. The success of such models could shape future offerings in the market.

  • CME Group Expands Crypto Futures to Bitcoin Cash and Uniswap, Pending Regulatory Approval

CME Group Expands Crypto Futures to Bitcoin Cash and Uniswap, Pending Regulatory Approval

CME Group is set to expand its regulated cryptocurrency derivatives offerings by introducing futures contracts for Bitcoin Cash (BCH) and Uniswap (UNI), the exchange announced. The planned launch date is October 19, contingent upon regulatory review.

These new contracts will be available in both standard and micro sizes. The standard Bitcoin Cash futures contract will represent 250 BCH, with micro contracts at 25 BCH. For Uniswap, standard contracts will cover 10,000 UNI, and micro contracts will be for 1,000 UNI.

This expansion continues CME Group’s strategy of broadening its crypto futures suite beyond Bitcoin and Ether. Previously, the exchange launched contracts for Cardano, Chainlink, and Stellar in February, followed by Avalanche and Sui futures in May. Before this latest announcement, CME’s crypto offerings included Bitcoin, Ethereum, XRP, Solana, Cardano, Chainlink, and Stellar.

CME Group highlighted that its expansion into altcoin futures has demonstrated significant market traction. The exchange reported that these futures generated over $1 billion in total notional value year-to-date. During the first half of 2026, CME’s crypto complex averaged 279,800 contracts daily, translating to $8.3 billion in notional volume. Average open interest across the complex in the same period stood at 264,600 contracts, valued at $15.4 billion.

Bitcoin Cash, which originated from a 2017 split from Bitcoin, is currently trading around $338 per coin with a market capitalization of approximately $6 billion. Uniswap’s native token, UNI, is trading near $9.28, holding a market cap of about $5.75 billion. Uniswap is known for operating the largest decentralized exchange in the cryptocurrency space, with UNI serving as the protocol’s governance token.

CME Group stated that as crypto markets mature, participants require more comprehensive, regulated tools to manage price risk. The new contracts are designed for capital efficiency and to offer exposure to key crypto networks within a regulated, 24/7 venue. This expansion is described as another step in providing clients with regulated tools to access these digital assets.

In related market developments, Ripple Prime secured a $200 million facility in May to enhance its lending capacity, following Ripple’s acquisition of Hidden Road in 2025. Institutions managing crypto exposure often seek round-the-clock access to regulated derivatives, supported by robust clearing and financing infrastructure.

The introduction of the Bitcoin Cash and Uniswap futures contracts remains subject to regulatory review, a condition consistently emphasized by CME Group.

    Why This Matters

The materials describe a narrow update: CME Group announced plans to launch futures contracts for Bitcoin Cash and Uniswap on October 19, pending regulatory review. The launch of Bitcoin Cash and Uniswap futures contracts is pending regulatory review.

  • Moscow Exchange Launches Bitcoin Perpetual Futures for Qualified Investors

Moscow Exchange Launches Bitcoin Perpetual Futures for Qualified Investors

The Moscow Exchange (MOEX) has launched Bitcoin perpetual futures, offering qualified investors in Russia a new regulated avenue for synthetic exposure to the cryptocurrency. This development introduces one-day, cash-settled instruments in rubles, a strategic move designed to navigate Russia’s capital controls and international sanctions.

The new perpetual futures are structured as one-day instruments with automatic daily rollover, providing traders with continuous exposure without manual position management. Trading commenced on September 22, with the Bitcoin perpetual futures contract (BTCUSDF) recording approximately $1.3 million in debut-day volume. Access is restricted to qualified investors, a designation for individuals or entities meeting specific financial asset, trading experience, or professional credential thresholds within Russia’s regulatory framework.

The strategic importance of these contracts lies in their cash settlement in rubles. This allows Russian investors and institutions to gain synthetic exposure to dollar-denominated Bitcoin price movements without directly holding U.S. dollars, a consideration amplified by Russia’s ongoing capital controls and the complexities of cross-border financial flows under international sanctions.

This launch builds on MOEX’s prior expansion into crypto derivatives. Monthly futures on Bitcoin and Ether were first introduced in late 2025. By May 2026, MOEX had added contracts on Solana, XRP, and Tron. By September 2026, cumulative turnover across these existing crypto futures surpassed 600 billion rubles, with average daily turnover reaching 2.5 billion rubles in August 2026. Over 72,000 qualified investors had traded MOEX’s crypto futures products by September.

The perpetual futures carry a first-tier margin requirement of 22% for Bitcoin, enabling approximately 4.5 times leverage. Funding parameters are set with K1 at 0% and K2 at 0.35%. The exchange’s use of cash settlement, rather than physical token delivery, aligns with regulatory guidelines from the Bank of Russia.

While the $1.3 million debut-day volume is a modest start, it holds significance within Russia’s regulated derivatives market. The long-term success and adoption rate of these new Bitcoin perpetual futures remain to be determined, as do the precise definitions and thresholds for ‘qualified investors’ within Russia’s regulatory system. Nevertheless, the launch signifies the continued development of regulated crypto derivatives in the Russian market, adapting to domestic financial controls and the broader international economic climate.

  • Bitcoin Price Action Amidst Mixed Market Signals and Federal Reserve Policy Considerations

Bitcoin Price Action Amidst Mixed Market Signals and Federal Reserve Policy Considerations

Bitcoin’s price has moved above $86,500, contributing to a total cryptocurrency market capitalization exceeding $3 trillion. This price movement occurred alongside a record close for the Nasdaq Composite, influenced by gains in AI-related stocks, and a decrease in oil prices. The interplay of these market trends, alongside the Federal Reserve’s monetary policy, presents a complex picture for market participants, with significant uncertainties remaining.

    Market Sentiment and Equity Performance
The broader market sentiment appeared to favor risk assets, as evidenced by the Nasdaq Composite’s performance. The tech-heavy index closed at a record high on Monday, up 2.26%, with significant contributions from chipmakers like Intel, which jumped 12%, and AMD, which gained about 10%. This rally in technology stocks has been ongoing, marking their longest winning streak since April.

    Geopolitical Factors and Oil Prices
In contrast to the upward trend in equities and cryptocurrencies, oil prices experienced a decline. Brent crude briefly slipped below $98 a barrel, and West Texas Intermediate (WTI) fell under $93. These movements followed reports suggesting Iran might reopen the Strait of Hormuz, a development that could potentially ease supply concerns. President Donald Trump indicated expectations of a deal with Iran following the upcoming U.S. elections, according to the U.N. General Assembly, while Saudi Arabia is reportedly working to restart its East-West pipeline.

    Federal Reserve Policy Considerations
The Federal Reserve’s monetary policy continues to be a factor influencing market dynamics. On September 16, the Fed raised its benchmark interest rate by 25 basis points to a range of 3.75%-4%, a move prompted by inflation data, including an acceleration in the Producer Price Index to 5.4% annually in August. However, the Fed has also resumed purchases of short-term Treasury bills to maintain ample bank reserves. According to reports, these purchases absorb Treasury supply and inject liquidity into the system, potentially counteracting some of the tightening effect of the rate hikes. This creates a scenario where rates are rising, but the Fed’s balance sheet is not shrinking.

Bitcoin’s Technical Indicators and Altcoin Performance
Technically, Bitcoin’s price action shows certain signals. The cryptocurrency has cleared previous resistance zones between $79,673 and $84,144. Bitcoin is currently exhibiting a ‘golden cross’ pattern, where the 50-day moving average crosses above the 200-day moving average, a technical formation often recognized as bullish. Analysts suggest potential resistance levels at $90,763 and $95,074 if recent price movement continues. Conversely, a failure to hold the $79,673 support zone could lead to a pullback towards $75,436 and $73,617.

Altcoins have also seen gains, with XRP climbing to $1.57, Solana increasing by 18.2% over the past week, and Zcash extending its rally to $1,551, up 36.7% in seven days. Data indicates that 97 of the top 100 cryptocurrencies have reported positive performance over the last seven days.

    Lingering Uncertainties
Significant uncertainties remain regarding the sustainability of these market movements. The Federal Reserve’s next policy meeting on October 27-28 will be important in determining whether the recent rate hike was a singular response to oil price shocks or the beginning of a series of increases. Market participants are also awaiting further clarity on geopolitical developments concerning Iran and the potential impact on oil markets, as well as the timeline for Saudi Arabia’s pipeline restart. The sustainability of Bitcoin’s current price levels and the broader market’s risk-on sentiment are subject to these evolving factors.

    Why This Matters

The materials describe a narrow update: Bitcoin’s price rose above $86,500, pushing the total cryptocurrency market capitalization over $3 trillion. Whether September’s Fed hike was a one-off response to an oil shock or the first of several planned this year.

    Broader Context

Source materials place the factual news in this context: The move puts total crypto market capitalization above $3 trillion, with the Crypto Fear & Greed Index reading 79—solidly in “greed” territory—and the Altcoin Season Index at 49, meaning Bitcoin still leads even as altcoins start moving.

  • 21shares Launches Zcash and Ether.fi ETPs in Europe, Expanding Regulated Access

21shares Launches Zcash and Ether.fi ETPs in Europe, Expanding Regulated Access

European asset manager 21shares has launched two physically-backed Exchange Traded Products (ETPs) in Europe, tracking the price of Zcash (ZEC) and Ether.fi’s governance token (ETHFI). The ETPs were listed on Euronext Paris and Amsterdam on Tuesday, marking an expansion of regulated access to privacy coins and decentralized finance (DeFi) tokens.

This development represents the first ETP for Zcash in the European market, following the existence of a US-listed Grayscale Zcash ETF. The new ETPs carry an annual management fee of 2.5%. The launch is seen as a step towards mainstream financial channels for these types of digital assets.

The introduction of these ETPs suggests an evolving regulatory landscape for privacy-focused cryptocurrencies and DeFi tokens. The ability for 21shares to list these products on major European exchanges may indicate a potential regulatory balance, though uncertainties remain regarding the exact regulatory mechanisms that facilitated these listings. The higher management fees for these ETPs could reflect ongoing compliance costs for emerging crypto assets and investor willingness to pay a premium for convenience.

Zcash, a privacy coin, utilizes a Proof-of-Work (PoW) consensus mechanism and has a fixed maximum supply of 21 million coins. Recent reports indicate that Zcash’s price has surpassed $1,500. Fortitude Digital Mining, a significant miner of ZEC, indicated that it mined approximately 28% of ZEC in the first half of 2026 and views Zcash as a valuable long-term mining target due to its PoW, fixed supply, and privacy features. The NU7 upgrade aims to shorten block times and increase transaction speed, though its impact on these metrics is not yet reported.

Ether.fi is a liquid staking protocol built on Ethereum. The launch of its ETP alongside Zcash highlights growing institutional interest in diverse segments of the digital asset market.

While the listings expand regulated access, uncertainties persist. It is unclear whether other privacy coins, such as Monero or Oasis Network, will see similar compliant products emerge in Europe. Additionally, the long-term sustainability of the 2.5% management fee for these ETPs, given potentially small Assets Under Management (AUM), remains a point of consideration. The narrative of Zcash as a ‘Bitcoin privacy alternative’ is still developing, with its validation in institutional investment yet to be fully determined.

The expansion of ETPs for Zcash and Ether.fi by 21shares occurs within a context of increasing institutional adoption of privacy coins, evidenced by the prior launch of a Zcash ETF in the US. This trend could signal a broader shift in investment strategies and regulatory tolerance towards these asset classes, though the full implications and long-term viability are subject to ongoing market and regulatory developments.

    Why This Matters

The materials describe a narrow update: European asset manager 21shares listed two physically-backed Exchange Traded Products (ETPs) on Euronext Paris and Amsterdam. Whether other privacy coins (Monero, Oasis Network) will see compliant products emerge in Europe.

  • U.S. Spot Bitcoin ETFs See Significant Inflows, Average Holders Return to Profitability

U.S. Spot Bitcoin ETFs See Significant Inflows, Average Holders Return to Profitability

U.S. spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs) recorded nearly $1 billion in inflows on Monday, a notable increase following a week of historically low activity. This development coincided with Bitcoin’s price rising above the estimated cost basis for the average ETF holder, returning them to profitability for the first time since January.

On Monday, the ETFs collectively saw inflows totaling $998.95 million, according to SoSoValue. This marks a substantial turnaround from the week ending September 18, when the funds experienced their smallest weekly net inflow of $6.2 million across 141 weeks of trading. Bloomberg Intelligence analyst Eric Balchunas noted that Monday’s total inflow was the largest single-day haul since last October.

The price increase pushed Bitcoin above an estimated ETF holder cost basis of $81,722 per coin. With Bitcoin trading near $85,900 at the time, the average holder of a U.S. spot Bitcoin fund was back in profit, a milestone not reached since January, as reported by Balchunas’ colleague James Seyffart.

Key ETFs saw significant inflows: BlackRock’s IBIT attracted $381.37 million, Ark & 21Shares’ ARKB followed with $289.12 million, and Fidelity’s FBTC brought in $238.84 million. Morgan Stanley’s MSBT added $61.67 million, and Bitwise’s BITB saw $21.56 million. Grayscale’s funds received single-digit millions each, while VanEck’s HODL and Valkyrie’s BRRR recorded no inflows.

Trading volume for the ETFs was noted as not exceptionally high relative to the price move, with approximately $4.5 billion traded on Monday, slightly below Friday’s $4.6 billion, according to Seyffart. However, Balchunas highlighted that this volume was elevated compared to stock and gold ETFs, with IBIT ranking among the top 10 by volume.

Experts caution that flows booked to one session often reflect the previous day’s activity. Seyffart suggested that Monday’s total likely captured Friday’s buying, meaning the market’s full reaction to Monday’s price action may still be unfolding.

David Wachsman, president of Hawkeye Digital, emphasized the significance of reaching the break-even point for holders who have been at a loss, noting that this can influence selling pressure. With the average buyer now in the green, it may become clearer whether recent institutional interest signifies a desire for more Bitcoin exposure or was primarily a response to the recent rally.

Commentary from industry figures suggests Bitcoin’s recovery toward the $86,000–$87,000 range is supported by renewed institutional demand and stronger spot ETF inflows, alongside evolving U.S. regulatory developments. Vikas Gupta, country manager for India at Bybit, observed that the market has shown resilience despite the Federal Reserve’s rate hike and the failure of the Clarity Act, indicating that sentiment is influenced by factors beyond monetary policy.

Cumulatively, U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs have seen net inflows of $56.16 billion since their launch. The funds currently hold $110.14 billion in assets, representing 6.30% of Bitcoin’s total market capitalization. The market may continue to observe whether the return to profitability for average holders translates into sustained demand or increased selling pressure.

    Broader Context

U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs took in $998.95 million on Monday, according to SoSoValue, one week after the same funds posted the smallest weekly net inflow of their history.

  • Bitcoin ETFs See Near $1B Inflow as Holders Reclaim Profits

Bitcoin ETFs See Near $1B Inflow as Holders Reclaim Profits

Bitcoin ETFs See Near $1 Billion Inflow, Largest Daily Surge in a Year

U.S. spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs) experienced a significant surge on September 21, attracting nearly $1 billion in a single trading day. This marks the largest daily inflow for these products in approximately one year. The substantial influx of $998.95 million coincided with Bitcoin’s price briefly surpassing $87,000, its highest point since January, returning many investors to profitability after a prolonged period of price stagnation.

This inflow ranks as the ninth-largest daily inflow since the launch of spot Bitcoin ETFs on January 11, 2024. The last time such a large daily inflow was recorded was in early October 2025.

BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) led the day’s activity, with net inflows totaling $381 million. ARK 21Shares’ Bitcoin ETF (ARKB) followed, bringing in approximately $289 million. Fidelity’s Wise Origin Bitcoin Fund (FBTC) secured the third position with around $239 million. Collectively, these three funds accounted for over 90% of the day’s total inflows.

Bitcoin’s intraday rally above $87,000 was the key driver that shifted a significant portion of holders back into profit. Although the price has since retreated to the $85,000 to $86,000 range, this level still represents a quarterly gain of approximately 44%.

These substantial inflows are part of a broader trend. In August 2026, Bitcoin ETFs saw a total of $3.52 billion flow in throughout the entire month. As of September 21, the month-to-date total for September has already reached $1.31 billion, with the month not yet concluded.

Spot Ether ETFs also demonstrated strong performance on September 21, attracting inflows of approximately $270 million.

The nearly $1 billion inflow day also underscores the transformative impact of the ETF structure on Bitcoin’s investor landscape. Prior to January 2024, gaining institutional exposure to Bitcoin involved complex custody arrangements, regulatory hurdles, and risk management frameworks that were often beyond the capabilities of traditional asset managers. The advent of ETFs has simplified this process, making Bitcoin accessible through a simple ticker symbol in a brokerage account.

Bitcoin ETFs See Near $1 Billion Inflow, Boosting Crypto Market

US spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs) experienced their largest daily inflow since October 2025 on Monday, attracting nearly $1 billion as the price of Bitcoin briefly surged above $87,000.

The funds recorded net inflows of $998.9 million on Monday, surpassing the previous 2026 high of $844 million seen on January 14, according to data from SoSoValue. This latest influx also marks the most significant daily inflow since October 6, 2025, when US spot Bitcoin ETFs drew over $1.2 billion. Despite this surge, US spot Bitcoin ETFs have collectively registered net outflows of approximately $464 million year-to-date in 2026.

Leading the inflows on Monday was BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT), which garnered $381 million. Following closely were the ARK 21Shares Bitcoin ETF (ARKB) with $289 million and Fidelity’s Wise Origin Bitcoin Fund (FBTC) with around $239 million, according to data from Farside Investors.

At the time of publication, Bitcoin was trading at $85,430, marking a 4.7% increase over the past 24 hours and a 12.3% rise over the last month. The cryptocurrency briefly climbed above $87,200 on Monday, as reported by CoinGecko. Julio Moreno of CryptoQuant noted on Monday that Bitcoin had moved above its 365-day moving average, a development he described as the final confirmation signal for a new bull market.

In related news, US spot Ether ETFs attracted approximately $270 million on Monday, their highest daily inflow of 2026. US spot XRP ETFs, meanwhile, recorded no net flows for the day, maintaining their cumulative net inflows at about $1.71 billion.
