Dogecoin Surges Double Digits, Altcoin Season Begins

Dogecoin Surges to Two-Week High Amid Analyst Optimism

Dogecoin, the largest meme coin by market capitalization, experienced a significant surge on Saturday evening, reaching $0.094 and marking a two-week peak. This upward movement was somewhat unexpected, given the typically subdued trading activity on weekends.

However, preceding the rally were several indicators suggesting a potential price increase. CryptoPotato had previously highlighted three key signals for DOGE, including the TD Sequential indicator, which analysts interpreted as a sign that the original meme coin was poised for further gains.

Despite these predictions, the asset initially faced resistance at $0.088 and subsequently retreated to $0.08 as the broader cryptocurrency market declined. This downturn followed the release of a strong U.S. jobs report, which was perceived as bearish for risk-on assets.

Nevertheless, Dogecoin staged a dramatic comeback on Saturday evening, climbing 12% from its previous day’s low to reach the $0.094 mark. Prominent analyst CW observed that the meme coin encountered its first significant sell wall, which currently appears too formidable to breach. Should it overcome this obstacle, the next major resistance level is anticipated at $0.14.

Another analyst, Alex Marzell, commented that DOGE performed as expected by rebounding from Friday’s lows and reclaiming a crucial resistance level.

Marzell’s analysis, shared via Twitter, stated: “$DOGE did exactly what it needed to. Friday’s jobs print dumped it back to the $0.083 base, six flat 4H candles held it, and today one 4H candle ripped $0.0876 to $0.0952 straight back through $0.088. Old resistance is the new line. Hold $0.088 and I think $0.095 goes next and…”

Max Crypto also acknowledged Dogecoin’s notable price action, suggesting that its breakouts could serve as a leading indicator for the commencement of an altcoin season.
