Uniswap Network Activity Surges Amidst Price Rally
Network activity on Uniswap is experiencing a significant uptick, mirroring the recent rise in the price of its native token, UNI. Data from Santiment reveals that daily active addresses on the Uniswap network have reached 14,591, marking a year-high.
The platform has also seen a substantial influx of new users, with 13,137 new UNI addresses created. This represents the most significant growth in new addresses since September 2020.
Ecosystem Upgrades Fueling Growth
This surge in user activity follows a series of crucial ecosystem upgrades, notably the introduction of Aggregator Hooks and VolatilePair Hooks.
The VolatilePair Hook, launched on October 14, debuted with the ETH/USDC pool on the Ethereum mainnet. This feature, designed for Uniswap v4, replaces fixed swap fees with dynamic, market-responsive rates. By recalculating separate buy and sell fees for each swap based on recent price movements, the hook aims to mitigate liquidity providers’ exposure to arbitrage losses during volatile market conditions.
A week later, Uniswap v4 Aggregator Hooks were rolled out. These hooks integrate external liquidity sources, including platforms like Curve, Fluid, and PancakeSwap, making them accessible to routers as v4 pools. This enhancement allows routers to compare quotes across Uniswap and external platforms, optimize trade routes, and execute swaps in a single transaction. Trades routed through these external sources contribute protocol fees that are subsequently used for UNI token burns.
Furthermore, Unichain is slated to receive its OP Enterprise upgrade on October 29. UNI is currently trading near the $7.1 mark, with market momentum showing signs of improvement.
Key Price Levels and Analyst Outlook
Santiment has identified $7 as a critical support level, with $7.5 serving as the next significant resistance to monitor. Sustaining the $7 level and maintaining high network activity could position UNI for a potential move towards $8. Conversely, a price drop below this threshold coupled with a decline in user activity could hinder the recovery momentum.
According to data from DefiLlama, Uniswap has generated over $6 billion in cumulative protocol fees. In the past 30 days alone, the decentralized exchange has earned nearly $89 million. BSCN reports indicate that Uniswap’s fee generation surpasses that of platforms such as Hyperliquid, Aave, and Morpho.
Crypto analyst Defi Rocketeer suggests that UNI is once again becoming a token to watch closely at its current price level. He believes that if the broader cryptocurrency market stabilizes, the token could retest the $10-$12 range. A decisive break above this zone could then bring the $19-$20 area into focus as the next major resistance.
