XRP Price Slides to 15-Week Low Amidst Conflicting Signals

XRP’s price has hit a 15-week low of $1.18 before recovering to hover around the $1.20 mark. The outlook for the cryptocurrency in the coming sessions is uncertain, marked by a divergence between on-chain data and price action.

The recent downturn was significant, with trading volume surging to 205.7 million XRP yesterday, pushing the price below the $1.25 support level. This triggered a sharp decline before buyers intervened.

XRP Drops 5% to $1.20, Breaches $1.25 Support on High Volume

The sell-off occurred despite a backdrop that typically signals accumulation. In recent days, over 25 million XRP has been withdrawn from exchanges, a trend usually associated with investors increasing their holdings. Concurrently, inflows to Binance have fallen to their lowest levels of 2026. This presents a puzzling scenario: bullish on-chain indicators clashing with bearish price movements.

XRP is currently trading between $1.21 and $1.26, down 2% in the last 24 hours and 7% over the past week. The market sentiment, as indicated by the Fear & Greed Index, is at 23, signaling “Extreme Fear,” with momentum appearing weak.

Technical Analysis Points to Bearish Trend

From a technical standpoint, the 4-hour chart suggests a bearish trend. The 50-day moving average is declining, and the 200-day moving average has been on a downward trajectory since May. Key resistance levels are identified at $1.32, $1.36, and $1.38. Immediate support is found at $1.21, with a more significant floor at $1.18, the recent intraday low.

    Potential Scenarios for XRP

    Three scenarios are being considered:

    1. Defense of $1.21: If buyers successfully defend the $1.21 level, trading volume could decrease on further dips, potentially allowing XRP to climb back towards $1.27, its first significant resistance.
    2. Consolidation: The price could stabilize within the $1.20 to $1.24 range for the remainder of the week.
    3. Further Decline: A close below $1.18 would invalidate the current stabilization thesis and open the door for a more substantial price drop.

While the on-chain data, such as exchange outflows and slowing inflows, could eventually provide a tailwind, technical selling pressures have consistently overshadowed these signals this week.

    Exploring Alternative Investment Opportunities

The recent 7% weekly decline in XRP, reaching 15-week lows, prompts questions about where significant upside potential might lie. For investors looking to diversify away from large-cap cryptocurrencies during market downturns, early-stage infrastructure projects have historically attracted capital. One such project gaining attention is LiquidChain.

LiquidChain ($LIQUID) is a Layer 3 infrastructure protocol designed to act as a cross-chain liquidity layer, integrating liquidity from Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana into a unified execution environment. Its architecture is built on four core principles: a Unified Liquidity Layer, Single-Step Execution, Verifiable Settlement, and a Deploy-Once Architecture, enabling developers to access multiple ecosystems without the need for redeployment. The LiquidChain token is currently priced at $0.01466, and the project has raised $820,000 in its presale phase.

  • Bitcoin Bear Market Ends: Cycle Position Revealed

Bitcoin’s Bear Phase May Already Be Behind It

Bitcoin is once again at the center of a fierce debate. While many market participants have interpreted recent weakness as the beginning of a new bear market, crypto trader @CryptoFergani argues the opposite. According to his assessment, the market has already endured its bearish phase, and current conditions point to a different stage of the cycle altogether.

To understand his argument, it is important to look beyond daily price swings and focus on the larger structure of the market. @CryptoFergani’s chart presents Bitcoin moving within a long-term ascending channel that has guided price action across multiple cycles. Historically, the lower boundaries of this channel have acted as accumulation zones, while the upper boundaries have marked periods of optimism and cycle peaks.

The chart highlights several occasions where Bitcoin touched the lower sections of the channel before beginning substantial recoveries. In previous cycles, those moments coincided with widespread pessimism before being followed by powerful advances. The current position on the chart places Bitcoin near a similar region, leading the analyst to conclude that the market is emerging from a prolonged corrective period rather than entering a fresh bear market.

Market psychology is central to this thesis. Many investors following the traditional four-year cycle have recently reduced exposure or exited positions. With fewer potential sellers, downward pressure weakens, and even small increases in demand can significantly move the price. This is why the analyst interprets recent weakness as exhaustion rather than collapse, suggesting the market is resetting ahead of another expansion phase.

    Bitcoin’s Next Chapter

If the bear market is indeed over, the next question becomes where Bitcoin currently sits in the cycle. The answer, according to the analyst’s framework, is somewhere between accumulation and acceleration. Several factors support this view. Institutional participation in digital assets continues to expand, regulatory discussions in the United States are gaining importance, and expectations of future economic stimulus remain part of the broader outlook.

@CryptoFergani also highlights business cycle shifts, US dollar movements, Federal Reserve policy changes, and commodity trends as parts of a larger setup that could favor risk assets.

At the same time, Bitcoin’s short-term performance remains mixed. It is currently trading around $67,176 after a 4.3% decline over 24 hours. From @CryptoFergani’s perspective, these pullbacks are not a new bear market but turbulence within a broader transition. His long-term projection still anticipates a sharp upside move after the current consolidation, with a potential rise from the $60,000–$80,000 range to $320,000–$340,000 later in the cycle, provided Bitcoin stays within its long-term ascending channel.

Whether that forecast ultimately materializes remains to be seen. However, the central message is clear: while much of the market is focused on recent declines, some analysts believe Bitcoin is no longer fighting a bear market at all. Instead, it may be laying the groundwork for the next major stage of the cycle.

  • ICP Surges Amidst Crypto Slump: $10 Target in Sight?

ICP Surges Amidst Crypto Slump: $10 Target in Sight?

Internet Computer (ICP) Defies Crypto Carnage: Analysts Eye Significant Upside

Finding a leading cryptocurrency that has managed to remain in positive territory on a weekly basis has proven a difficult task, given the significant downturn experienced across the broader market in recent days.

Internet Computer (ICP) stands out as one of the few assets posting gains, with some analysts suggesting its valuation could soon reach considerably higher levels.

Despite Bitcoin’s 11% weekly decline and Ethereum’s 10% drop, ICP has appreciated by 3% over the same period, currently trading just above $3. Its market capitalization has climbed to nearly $1.7 billion, positioning it as the 53rd-largest cryptocurrency.

A key driver behind ICP’s ascent appears to be advancements within its ecosystem. The popular X account BSCN highlighted that the protocol processed 7.2 million transactions last month, surpassing all other blockchain networks. Solana followed in second place with fewer than 3 million transactions.

ICP’s positive performance has captured the attention of traders and analysts, sparking a series of optimistic predictions. For instance, X user Crypto Tony posited that a successful retest of $3.15 could pave the way for long positions targeting $3.50 and $4, “while we hold above.”

JAVON MARKS observed ICP’s move above the $3 mark, indicating a potential for a 220% surge towards $10. Such a significant rise would not be unprecedented for the asset, which briefly traded above $400 in its early stages.

Earlier, X user Nehal also shared their analysis. The analyst’s assessment of ICP’s price trajectory suggested that a confirmed breakout above the descending resistance zone between $4.50 and $5 could ignite a substantial rally towards $8-$12, with the possibility of reaching $16+ if momentum accelerates.

“Rejection at resistance could send price back toward the $2-$2.50 support zone,” they added.

The recent trend of users shifting from centralized trading platforms to self-custody methods lends further support to these bullish forecasts. Data from CoinGlass indicates that exchange outflows have exceeded inflows in recent days, suggesting investors are not eager to liquidate their holdings.

Meanwhile, ICP’s Relative Strength Index (RSI) remains in neutral territory but has been gradually approaching overbought levels, a condition that often precedes price corrections. This technical analysis tool measures the speed and magnitude of recent price changes, with readings ranging from 0 to 100. Values above 70 typically signal an impending correction, while readings below 30 are often interpreted as buying opportunities. As of this report, ICP’s RSI stands at approximately 62.

  • XRP Sees Short-Term Dip, Analyst Eyes Larger Setup

XRP Sees Short-Term Dip, Analyst Eyes Larger Setup

Patience Could Yield Significant Gains for XRP Investors

Investors who demonstrate patience through the current market downturn may stand to be among the biggest beneficiaries when sentiment eventually shifts, according to one analyst closely monitoring XRP’s performance during this period of weakness.

    A Resilient Floor for XRP

The analyst’s assessment of prevailing market conditions suggests that XRP is unlikely to fall below the $1 mark. The cryptocurrency has been trading near the lower end of its recent range, pressured by a broader cryptocurrency sell-off that has seen Bitcoin breach key support levels and shaken market confidence.

In a video report, the analyst identified the $1.20 area as a potential floor, anticipating it as a precursor to any substantial recovery. This level, in his view, represents the kind of final capitulation that has historically preceded significant rallies, a pattern he believes is currently unfolding.

    Geopolitical Pressures Impacting the Market

The analyst attributes much of the near-term risk not to fundamental cryptocurrency factors, but to geopolitical developments in the Middle East. Heightened tensions in the region have fueled concerns about potential disruptions to crude oil supplies. Reports indicate declining oil inventories, drawdowns in Japan’s strategic petroleum reserves, and renewed conflict between Iran and Israel. Furthermore, idle vessels in the Gulf are reportedly facing operational challenges that could impede energy transportation. The analyst cautioned that even if a peace agreement is reached, supply chains could require months to fully normalize. This lingering uncertainty, he argues, leaves the door open for further selling pressure across risk assets, including cryptocurrencies.

    Traditional Markets Signal Caution

Traditional financial markets are offering little solace to investors. The U.S. bond market remains in a prolonged downturn, and while the S&P 500 has reached new highs, these gains are concentrated among a select few companies. Market breadth is narrow, and valuations have reached historic extremes. The analyst’s recommendation is to forgo the overheated equity market and instead focus on assets that have already experienced significant corrections.

A Delayed, Not Denied, Bull Run

The analyst maintains that XRP’s long-term investment case remains robust, with a major rally anticipated in 2026. He intends to continue buying during dips, viewing the current environment of heavy selling and widespread fear as an ideal setup for substantial future gains. Reports indicate that even significant institutional investors have been unable to halt the price decline. However, the analyst views this as a characteristic of the market, rather than a flaw, noting that it tends to reward those who persevere through challenging periods.

  • Altman’s AI Forecasts XRP Price for Next 30 Days

Altman’s AI Forecasts XRP Price for Next 30 Days

ChatGPT, the artificial intelligence developed by Sam Altman, is forecasting a significant upward movement for XRP over the next 30 days, projecting a price target between $1.55 and $1.80. This optimistic outlook contrasts with XRP’s current trading price of $1.238. According to the AI’s analysis, a “squeeze scenario” pushing the price toward $1.60 and beyond could be triggered if XRP successfully reclaims the $1.35 level as support.

    A Clear Bullish Signal

The bullish case presented by ChatGPT is straightforward, with the timing of the potential catalyst adding a layer of intrigue to this week’s XRP price predictions. After months of underperformance, a substantial amount of capital is reportedly on the sidelines, awaiting a clear signal to re-enter the market. ChatGPT suggests this signal may be imminent.

Several factors are contributing to this optimistic forecast: growing institutional interest in exchange-traded funds (ETFs), an uptick in activity on the XRP Ledger (XRPL), and the dissipation of regulatory uncertainty that has historically suppressed participation. The AI posits that the convergence of these three elements could pave the way for aggressive capital rotation once Bitcoin stabilizes and allows altcoins more room to maneuver.

The $1.35 mark is identified by ChatGPT as a critical technical trigger. Currently acting as resistance, its conversion into support, confirmed by volume, would signify a shift from a period of range-bound trading to a momentum-driven surge towards $1.60 and higher. This precise identification of a technical level offers a tangible benchmark, moving beyond vague directional forecasts.

    The Bearish Counterpoint

The AI also outlines a specific bearish scenario. The zone between $1.15 and $1.18 is identified as the most crucial support level on the downside. A decisive breach of this area could lead to a liquidity flush, pushing XRP’s price towards $1.00, a level not seen since before its significant breakout in late 2024.

Potential catalysts for such a downturn include broad market weakness or a waning of ETF momentum. Both are considered live risks given Bitcoin’s current market position.

    Chart Analysis and Historical Context

XRP is closing the current week at $1.238, marking a nearly 7% decline over the past seven days. The weekly chart, extending back to early 2024, reveals a pattern not observed since the initial breakout in late 2024: the price is approaching the “launch zone” where significant institutional repricing began.

The rapid ascent from $0.55 to $3.40 in late 2024 occurred too quickly to establish robust structural support levels. This speed, while fueling the initial surge, now hinders recovery, as there are few strong historical support zones between $1.00 and $1.60 built through accumulation rather than simply being traversed during a parabolic move.

The $1.20 level represents the closest approximation to a genuine floor on the current chart, having been tested and held on multiple weekly closes since February. This week’s candle low of $1.188 dipped below $1.20 intraweek before recovering to close at $1.238, mirroring the wick behavior observed at the February low. Such instances of trading below support followed by a recovery close are often interpreted as a final liquidity grab before a substantial bounce, aligning with ChatGPT’s $1.15 to $1.18 bearish floor.

If the $1.20 level holds on a weekly closing basis, the base between $1.20 and $1.60 is expected to remain intact, keeping the $1.55 to $1.80 target within reach. A break below this level would point to $1.00 as the next significant historical level, marking the beginning of pre-election institutional positioning in late 2024.

    The Rotation Beyond Established Assets

The market rotation is already underway, though its direction may not be immediately apparent to many. Large-cap cryptocurrencies are not necessarily “broken” but rather “capped,” with Bitcoin, Ethereum, and XRP all encountering similar resistance bands tested repeatedly in recent weeks.

The anticipated macroeconomic relief that could fuel the next leg of the rally continues to be delayed, and expected institutional inflows are being pushed back. Holding assets whose upside is entirely dependent on external catalysts presents a strategy with a discernible ceiling.

Savvy investors who understand market cycles are reportedly moving their capital before the next trend becomes obvious. Early-stage infrastructure projects, operating with fundamentally different market dynamics, offer the potential for dramatic price movements with relatively modest capital rotations due to their smaller market capitalization.

The upside potential in these nascent projects remains largely unpriced, as the market has yet to fully discover their value. This gap between intrinsic worth and current market perception is where asymmetric returns can be generated.

    LiquidChain: Addressing DeFi Fragmentation

Multi-chain fragmentation poses a persistent and costly challenge in decentralized finance (DeFi). Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana each operate with isolated liquidity infrastructure, lacking native interoperability. Users transferring value between these ecosystems incur costs through fees, slippage, and failed transactions.

LiquidChain aims to eliminate these costs by consolidating these three networks into a single execution layer. This approach promises a unified deployment with full ecosystem access, removing the “cross-chain tax” on every interaction.

The LiquidChain presale is currently priced at $0.01454, with over $700,000 raised. This is described not as marketing jargon but as an accurate reflection of its current lifecycle stage.

The project acknowledges that its execution and adoption remain unproven, presenting real risks that are openly stated. While established assets offer a more predictable path to a visible ceiling, LiquidChain presents an opportunity to participate in a project at its foundational stages.

  • XRP Price Drops Below Key Support, Further Decline Possible

XRP Price Drops Below Key Support, Further Decline Possible

XRP Price Suffers Significant Losses, Breaking Key Support Levels

XRP is experiencing a sharp decline, trading between $1.21 and $1.24, marking a 2% drop today and a concerning 7% decrease over the past week. This sell-off has intensified since earlier this week, extending a downtrend that began in mid-May when XRP reached a local peak of $1.55. Since then, the token has fallen through a critical support zone, hitting its lowest price since February.

XRP ETFs Continue Inflows Amidst Broader Market Downturn

Despite the broader market’s struggles, XRP Exchange-Traded Funds (ETFs) have not seen a single red day since April. Data from SoSoValueCrypto indicates that XRP spot ETFs attracted an additional $4.13 million on June 1, continuing a streak of positive inflows throughout May. The last recorded outflow for these ETFs occurred at an unspecified earlier date.

    Cumulative Drawdown and Market-Wide Correction

The cumulative drawdown for XRP now exceeds 66% from its all-time high last year. However, this decline is not isolated; the total cryptocurrency market capitalization has plummeted from over $4 trillion to $2.4 trillion, with most altcoins experiencing double-digit losses, mirroring XRP’s performance.

Discrepancy Between Fundamentals and Price Action

The current price action for XRP appears unusual given its underlying fundamentals. In May alone, spot XRP ETFs garnered over $131 million, marking their strongest monthly performance this year. Furthermore, Ripple’s RLUSD stablecoin boasts over $1.8 billion in Assets Under Management (AUM) and $22 billion in 30-day volume. This suggests a disconnect between strong fundamental indicators and the token’s depreciating price.

Technical Analysis and Potential Price Targets

XRP’s price has broken through a crucial support level and has yet to reclaim it. The $1.20 zone, which previously served as consolidation support throughout the first quarter, is now a critical level to monitor. A confirmed daily close below this figure could pave the way for a further decline towards the $1.00–$1.05 range, a level last tested in late 2024. On the upside, the former support around $1.40–$1.45 has now transitioned into resistance. Reclaiming this level would be a prerequisite for any significant bullish recovery.

    Near-Term Scenarios for XRP

Three potential scenarios are shaping XRP’s near-term trajectory. In an optimistic outlook, accelerated ETF inflows and a positive shift in market sentiment could see XRP reclaim the $1.40 level within two weeks, potentially initiating a recovery. Alternatively, the token might trade sideways between $1.20 and $1.35 as the broader market stabilizes.

The most bearish scenario involves the $1.20 floor breaking, triggering momentum selling and potentially pushing the token below $1.10. Current momentum indicators appear to favor this bearish outlook.

    Long-Term Outlook and Regulatory Wins

Ripple’s recent regulatory successes, including securing licenses in the UK, Australia, and the EU, coupled with a company valuation of $50 billion, provide a long-term foundation for sentiment. While AI-driven price models remain bullish on a 12-month horizon, near-term technicals suggest a need for caution.

    Market Insights and Emerging Opportunities

The significant weekly decline of a major-cap asset like XRP, even with institutional ETF demand, underscores that size does not guarantee safety in the current market cycle. This situation highlights a potential strategy of rotating into earlier-stage infrastructure projects before institutional price discovery begins.

One such project, LiquidChain ($LIQUID), is a Layer 3 infrastructure initiative aiming to serve as a cross-chain liquidity layer for the next market cycle. Its core objective is to consolidate liquidity from Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana into a unified execution environment, enabling developers to deploy applications across all three ecosystems simultaneously with a single deployment.

LiquidChain’s architecture features a Unified Liquidity Layer, Single-Step Execution, Verifiable Settlement, and a Deploy-Once Architecture, designed to address the fragmentation that currently complicates and increases the cost of cross-chain development.

The LiquidChain presale is currently live, with the $LIQUID token priced at $0.01466 and having raised $820,000 to date.

  • XRP Falls Below Triangle, Eyes $1.14 Target

XRP Falls Below Triangle, Eyes $1.14 Target

XRP Drops Below Key Technical Pattern, Analyst Sets $1.14 Target

Cryptocurrency analyst Ali Martinez has pointed to a recent technical development for XRP, noting that the digital asset has broken below a symmetrical triangle pattern. This breakdown, according to Martinez, could signal a potential price target of $1.14.

    Symmetrical Triangle Breakdown

In a recent post on X, Martinez discussed a symmetrical triangle pattern that had been forming on XRP’s daily price chart prior to its recent downturn. A symmetrical triangle is a technical analysis formation characterized by two converging trendlines, with the upper line acting as resistance and the lower line as support. The pattern typically indicates a period of consolidation before a significant price move.

The key characteristic of a symmetrical triangle is that its trendlines approach each other with roughly equal and opposite slopes, causing the trading range to narrow over time. A breakout above the resistance line or below the support line is often interpreted as a signal for a continuation of the prevailing trend.

Martinez shared a chart illustrating the symmetrical triangle that had been shaping XRP’s price action. The data showed XRP trading within this pattern for several months. However, as the trading range tightened in May, a breakout occurred. This breakout, unfortunately for XRP holders, was to the downside, with the price slipping below the established support level.

As per technical analysis principles, a breakdown below the support of a symmetrical triangle can be a bearish indicator, suggesting a continuation of the downward trend. The chart shared by Martinez appears to confirm this, showing bearish momentum persisting since the support level gave way. Based on this pattern and the subsequent price action, Martinez has projected a target of $1.14 for XRP. The market will now watch to see if XRP moves towards this level or if its trajectory reverses.

    Long-Term Parallel Channel

Martinez also highlighted that the symmetrical triangle was a short-term pattern. In a separate X post, the analyst drew attention to a longer-term pattern: a parallel channel that XRP’s monthly price has potentially been confined within for years.

A parallel channel consists of two trendlines that run parallel to each other. The chart provided by Martinez indicates that XRP retested the resistance level of this long-term channel in 2025 but was ultimately rejected. Since this reversal, the cryptocurrency has experienced a decline.

Martinez suggested that if XRP continues to respect this parallel channel, the mid-range of the channel, currently around $0.73, could present an attractive accumulation zone.

At the time of reporting, XRP was trading around $1.23, marking a nearly 8% decrease over the past seven days.

  • XRP Price Drops Below $1.22 Amidst Negative Market Sentiment

XRP Price Drops Below $1.22 Amidst Negative Market Sentiment

XRP Price Slides Below Key Support Levels, Bears in Control

The price of XRP has extended its losses, trading below the $1.220 mark. The cryptocurrency is currently consolidating its decline, facing immediate resistance hurdles at $1.2350 and $1.250.

    XRP Price Dips Below $1.250

XRP’s inability to sustain its position above $1.30 has led to a significant downturn, mirroring movements seen in Bitcoin and Ethereum. The digital asset fell below $1.2850 and $1.2650, entering a short-term bearish territory. Losses deepened further, pushing the price below $1.220.

A low was established at $1.1924. XRP is now consolidating these losses well below the 23.6% Fibonacci retracement level of the move from a swing high of $1.3640 to the recent low of $1.1924. The price is trading below $1.2320 and the 100-hourly Simple Moving Average.

Should a recovery attempt materialize, XRP could encounter resistance near the $1.2330 level. The first significant resistance zone is situated around $1.2580. A more substantial barrier lies at $1.2780, which also corresponds to the 50% Fibonacci retracement level of the aforementioned downward swing. A decisive close above $1.2780 could propel XRP towards $1.2850, with the next hurdle at $1.2880.

A bearish trend line is forming on the hourly chart of the XRP/USD pair, with resistance at $1.2850. A clear break above the $1.2880 resistance could pave the way for a move towards the $1.30 level. Further gains might see XRP target the $1.3250 resistance.

    More Losses on the Horizon?

If XRP fails to overcome the $1.2580 resistance zone, a fresh decline could be initiated. Initial support on the downside is observed near the $1.2050 level, followed by a major support at $1.20. A downside break and a close below $1.20 could lead to further declines towards $1.1920. The next significant support is located around the $1.1880 zone, below which the price could extend lower towards $1.1840.

    Technical Indicators

The hourly MACD for XRP/USD is currently gaining momentum in the bearish zone. The hourly RSI (Relative Strength Index) is trading below the 50 level, indicating bearish sentiment.

Major Resistance Levels: $1.2350 and $1.2580

  • Crypto Treasury Outflows Slow, Hitting Lowest Point Since 2024

Crypto Treasury Outflows Slow, Hitting Lowest Point Since 2024

Bitcoin Dominates Crypto Inflows Amid Broader Market Slowdown

Crypto treasury companies saw their monthly inflows plummet to $180 million in May, marking the weakest performance since October 2024. Bitcoin-linked firms were the primary drivers of this figure, accounting for $177 million. Smaller contributions came from ZCash, Story, and Sui, while Litecoin experienced an outflow of $1.89 million.

This sharp decline represents a 95% drop from April’s $4.4 billion and is approximately 93% below the monthly average recorded between January and May. The figures for March and April each surpassed $4 billion, highlighting the significant slowdown.

Post-Election Surge Fades for Treasury Firms

The recent dip follows a robust surge in investment late last year, when digital asset inflows exceeded $12 billion, spurred by the 2024 US election results and a more favorable policy environment. Data from DefiLlama indicates that this trend cooled throughout 2025, remaining below $10 billion monthly until late summer before declining further.

This cooling market has presented treasury firms with a more challenging proposition. The subsequent market downturn has intensified pressure, and companies that previously relied solely on token accumulation are now facing greater investor scrutiny compared to the boom period.

Yield Pressure Forces Treasury Firms to Adapt

Industry leaders suggest that the traditional buy-and-hold strategy is losing its efficacy. Galaxy Digital, for instance, has advocated for treasury firms to actively deploy assets through staking, validator services, DeFi lending, or other revenue-generating activities.

Patrick Ngan of Zeta Network Group emphasized that companies holding Bitcoin must demonstrate capabilities beyond simply holding the asset on their balance sheets. He noted that businesses with tangible cash flow might be better positioned than those solely focused on asset holdings.

Arthur Firstov of Mercuryo pointed out that the advent of ETFs offers institutions a cost-effective and liquid avenue for direct crypto exposure. This, he explained, makes it more difficult for publicly listed treasury firms to maintain premium valuations. While staking can generate revenue for proof-of-stake treasuries, Firstov cautioned that it cannot compensate for operational weaknesses, excessive dilution, or balance sheet losses.

Hybrid Models Emerge as Sector Loses Momentum

The shift towards more active asset management is already evident in hybrid models. Grant Cardone, for example, has integrated Bitcoin with multifamily housing investments, utilizing rental income and property appreciation to support further Bitcoin acquisitions within a treasury-like structure.

Current data indicates a significant deceleration in the crypto treasury sector. Although Bitcoin continues to lead the market, the latest figures strongly suggest that the era of easy capital has concluded.

  • Ethereum Poised to Outshine Bitcoin as Prices Fall: Standard Chartered

Ethereum Poised to Outshine Bitcoin as Prices Fall: Standard Chartered

Strategy’s Bitcoin Sale Signals Potential Turning Point for Ethereum, Analyst Says

Standard Chartered’s Geoff Kendrick has identified a counterintuitive shift favoring Ethereum following Strategy’s recent Bitcoin sale. The move, disclosed on Monday, has created favorable conditions for the second-largest digital asset by market capitalization, which has lagged behind Bitcoin for months, according to a Tuesday note from the bank’s head of digital asset research.

Kendrick observed that Ethereum experienced one of its most significant price movements against Bitcoin in years after Strategy reduced its holdings by $2.5 million. He further noted that since the beginning of 2024, Ethereum has demonstrated stronger daily gains relative to Bitcoin, experiencing fewer instances of decline.

The analyst projects that Bitcoin’s dominance over Ethereum will diminish by year’s end to levels not seen since September, forecasting a ratio of 0.04. Under this scenario, and assuming Bitcoin’s price remains stable, Kendrick estimates Bitcoin would be valued at $67,300, while Ethereum would surge 41% from its current $1,900 to approximately $2,700.

Kendrick highlighted a key difference in business models between firms that invest in Ethereum and those that favor Bitcoin. He explained that Ethereum’s staking mechanism, which allows participants to earn rewards by validating transactions and generating revenue, reduces the necessity for sales compared to Bitcoin-holding companies.

Last week, Standard Chartered projected a year-end target of $4,000 for Ethereum, arguing that its current price does not reflect its improving internal metrics. Kendrick drew a parallel between this disparity and Amazon’s significant decline during the dot-com bubble’s collapse.

Kendrick’s analysis specifically focused on the “ETH/BTC” ratio. This ratio reached a peak of 0.042 in August of the previous year, coinciding with Ethereum’s all-time high near $5,000. However, the asset, built around smart contracts that power tokens, decentralized applications, and NFTs, has historically trended lower since 2022.

Despite this historical trend, Kendrick believes Ethereum is well-positioned to benefit from increasing Wall Street interest in stablecoins as a modern form of money and in tokenization as a new market infrastructure.

Ethereum’s prominence in these areas has been acknowledged by major asset managers like BlackRock. Kendrick has set a long-term price target of $40,000 for Ethereum by the end of the decade, while anticipating Bitcoin to reach $500,000 over the same period.

Historically, periods of Bitcoin rallying to all-time highs have been followed by a sustained outperformance of altcoins, a phenomenon known as “alt season.” However, some analysts have questioned this traditional market dynamic, pointing to the maturation of Bitcoin’s market structure, particularly with the introduction of exchange-traded funds.
