AI Chatbots Pose Risk of Detachment, Researchers Say

As AI chatbots become increasingly emotionally responsive, conversational, and personalized, researchers are cautioning that these same traits could reshape how some users perceive reality.

    AI’s Impact on Mental Health

A new pre-print study, “Rethinking AI Psychosis: Misnomers, Conceptual Limits, and Existential Drift,” explores concerns that AI chatbots may exacerbate delusions, paranoia, and emotional dependency in vulnerable users.

“There has been a proliferation of media reports about so-called AI psychosis in the last year,” the researchers wrote. “Not surprisingly, this has prompted growing academic work on the ways in which AI chatbots such as ChatGPT, Claude, and Replika might aggravate or even induce psychosis, typically understood in terms of users acquiring or maintaining delusional beliefs.”

The study, conducted by researchers at the University of Copenhagen and the University of Exeter, suggests that fears surrounding “AI psychosis” may oversimplify the issue. The researchers argue that chatbots amplify existing vulnerabilities while gradually reshaping how users relate to reality and other people.

“If AI interaction were capable of inducing psychosis de novo, we might expect to see significantly higher rates of clinical incidents,” the study stated. “Instead, it might be supposed that the human-AI interaction seems to have the potential to kindle or aggravate pre-existing mental health issues—and relatedly, that perhaps these individuals also had vulnerabilities that made them seek out more intense interactions with a chatbot in the first place.”

    Legal and Social Implications

The paper arrives amid a growing number of lawsuits, criminal investigations, and academic studies that are increasingly focused on chatbot interactions linked to mass shootings, suicide, emotional dependency, and delusional thinking.

In March, a wrongful death lawsuit accused Google’s Gemini chatbot of reinforcing a Florida man’s delusions and fictional “missions” before his suicide. This incident was followed in April by OpenAI CEO Sam Altman issuing a public apology to the community of Tumbler Ridge, British Columbia, after the company failed to alert law enforcement about a user account linked to the suspect in a February mass shooting that killed eight people.

Researchers suggest that chatbots can create “delusional spirals” by reinforcing false beliefs through affirmation and emotional reassurance. However, the “Rethinking AI Psychosis” study argues that the phenomenon resembles older forms of psychosis shaped by the dominant technologies of their time.

The debate has also extended beyond mental health research to social media. In a recent X post, Box founder Aaron Levie argued that CEOs can become overly convinced by AI’s capabilities because they often see polished prototype results without dealing with the operational, legal, and technical work required behind the scenes.

“CEOs are uniquely prone to AI psychosis because they’re sufficiently distant from the last mile of work that still has to happen to generate most value with AI,” Levie wrote. “So when they play with AI, they see the happy path results, often not considering the next 10 or 20 things that have to happen to get sustainable results from agents.”

    Existential Drift

Experts describe this as a form of epistemic drift, where users may gradually place more trust in the chatbot’s interpretations than in external evidence or other perspectives. However, the “Rethinking AI Psychosis” paper introduces the concept of “existential drift,” describing a gradual shift in how a person experiences reality itself.

“It creates a rift between the person and the shared social world, whilst simultaneously disclosing reality in a new way, thus stabilizing a particular, often idiosyncratic, perspective on the world,” the authors wrote.

The researchers argue that AI companions simulate emotional understanding and social interaction without providing genuine disagreement or an independent perspective. Over time, users may begin feeling emotionally anchored within a worldview continuously reinforced by the AI.

The authors emphasize the need for further research to understand how conversational AI affects mental health as AI companions become more integrated into daily life.

“To understand what is actually going on in these relationships between persons and chatbots, we believe that it is worthwhile to return to the phenomenon itself, which motivates further phenomenological research,” they wrote. “In particular, in relation to mental health and how human-AI interactions might, for better or worse, alter a person’s lived experiences of the world, themselves, and others.”

  • XRP Price Poised for Sharp Rebound

XRP Price Poised for Sharp Rebound

    XRP Price Analysis

The price of XRP is currently trading at $1.33, experiencing a slight decrease today. However, technical analysis suggests an impending upward movement. The price has consolidated within a symmetrical triangle pattern on the 4-hour timeframe, and the next 48 to 72 hours could determine XRP’s price trajectory for the coming weeks.

Over the past day, the trading volume reached $1.57 billion, while the market capitalization stands at $82 billion, trailing behind BNB. Some analysts have noted a two-week 20/50 EMA death cross, which is typically viewed as a bearish technical signal. Despite this, they also suggest that XRP could potentially rally towards the EMA cluster near $1.70.

On the weekly chart, a similar death cross occurred in January 2026, coinciding with a lower high at $2.40. Subsequently, there was a countertrend rally towards the 20-week EMA at $1.50, followed by a rejection in May. This pattern aligns with the two-week death cross.

The weekly chart also reveals an echo pattern, mirroring the death cross at the January lower high near $2.40, followed by a countertrend surge to the 20-week EMA at $1.50 before the May rejection.

    Market Sentiment and Technical Indicators

Sentiment in the altcoin market remains mixed. However, the compressed volatility in XRP, coupled with a well-defined support level, suggests a potential for a significant price movement.

The Relative Strength Index (RSI) is at 40, below its moving average of 44, indicating a lower-neutral position, not yet oversold. This suggests that buyers have not fully committed, but have not capitulated either. The Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD) remains below the signal line, with a slightly negative histogram, indicating weak bearish pressure, but not a significant decline.

Key price levels are crucial, as XRP is currently trading below the 7, 14, and 30-day moving averages, which are acting as resistance. Immediate resistance is between $1.34 and $1.38. The major trigger band is between $1.40 and $1.45, defined by the 100-day moving average and the upper boundary of the descending channel.

The coin is currently in a breakout zone. A decisive close above this zone could trigger a rapid price increase, while a rejection could push the price back towards the $1.30 to $1.20 range.

The current XRP price action indicates an imminent decision point.

    Investment Strategy

After a 42% annual decline, XRP presents a potential for a rebound. However, with an $82 billion market capitalization, even a 30% rally would require significant capital compared to assets with global recognition.

Traders are increasingly shifting a portion of their large-cap exposure into early-stage infrastructure projects with structural utility before price discovery.

LiquidChain ($LIQUID) is an L3 infrastructure project designed to address the fragmented liquidity across different blockchains. Its Unified Liquidity Layer integrates Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana liquidity into a single execution environment.

LiquidChain features a deploy-once architecture with verifiable settlement and single-step cross-chain execution, providing a crucial middleware layer for DeFi.

The presale has raised over $810,000, with a current token price of $0.01463. There is a 1400% APY bonus for buyers. LiquidChain allows developers to deploy once and access all three major ecosystems.

  • Crypto Groups Lobby Senate for CLARITY Act

Crypto Groups Lobby Senate for CLARITY Act

More than 100 cryptocurrency firms and organizations, spearheaded by the Digital Chamber, the Crypto Council for Innovation, and the Blockchain Association, have intensified their lobbying efforts in the U.S. Senate to advance the CLARITY Act. They are positioning its passage as the industry’s final viable opportunity to secure federal regulatory clarity before congressional momentum wanes.

    Bill’s Progress and Stakes

The Senate Banking Committee approved the bill in mid-May after months of bipartisan negotiations, but the debate on the Senate floor has barely begun.

The implications are significant: for exchanges like Coinbase, Kraken, and Gemini, the bill directly safeguards the fiat on/off-ramps that have been quietly undermined by informal banking pressures for years.

Crypto-related equities saw a surge following the committee vote, but analysts are already highlighting the procedural obstacles that remain before the bill can be signed into law.

    Industry Concerns and Proposed Solutions

The coalition’s April 23 letter to the Senate Banking Committee directly addressed the core issue: federal regulators, including the Federal Reserve, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), and the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC), have been conducting what the industry calls “Operation Choke Point 2.0.” This involves an informal campaign to pressure banks into severing ties with crypto clients without formal rulemaking, due process, or a documented record that advocacy groups can challenge in court.

The CLARITY Act aims to address this by mandating formal rulemaking processes to replace the current system of supervisory letters and guidance documents.

The over 100 signatories of the April letter include Coinbase, Circle, Kraken, Ripple, ConsenSys, Anchorage Digital, Galaxy Digital, Andreessen Horowitz, and Paradigm, representing a broad coalition of institutional infrastructure, venture capital, and retail-facing platforms.

Stand With Crypto university chapters also signed the letter, indicating that the campaign is simultaneously pursuing constituent pressure alongside institutional lobbying.

    Lobbying Strategies and Political Landscape

The Digital Chamber’s Crypto Banking campaign is focusing on swing-vote senators within both the Banking Committee and the broader Democratic caucus, where bipartisan support is considered essential to reach the 60-vote threshold required to advance the bill on the Senate floor.

The Crypto Council’s CEO has warned that failure to pass the bill could lead to the U.S. losing its competitive advantage in the global market, a message designed to resonate with skeptical centrists by emphasizing national competitiveness.

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent added institutional support during a Senate hearing on the FY2027 budget, arguing that the CLARITY Act is “critical to maintaining U.S. financial leadership and the dollar’s reserve status.”

This alignment between the administration and industry lobbyists is noteworthy, but it has not yet eliminated Democratic concerns that the bill could weaken enforcement in a sector where former President Trump’s family has business interests.

Prediction market odds on the CLARITY Act have already demonstrated how quickly Senate sentiment can change, with passage probabilities declining sharply following earlier procedural setbacks.

  • XRP Price: Expert Reveals Key to $200 Target

XRP Price: Expert Reveals Key to $200 Target

The Hurdles to XRP Reaching $200

The prospect of XRP reaching $200 may seem ambitious, but according to market analysts, it hinges on a significant expansion of the cryptocurrency market, a feat the industry has yet to achieve. In a recent report, market expert Sam Daodu argues that the gap between XRP’s current trading price and the $200 target is substantial, requiring all key conditions to align simultaneously, rather than sequentially.

The Need for a Larger Crypto Market

Currently trading at $1.34, XRP is approximately 63% below its all-time high of $3.65, reached last year. The debate surrounding a $200 valuation remains unresolved. Daodu highlights the supply side as the initial challenge. With over 61.8 billion XRP tokens in circulation, a $200 target would equate to a total value of roughly $12.4 trillion. This figure is about five times the current total value of the entire crypto market, which stands at $2.6 trillion.

Daodu’s analysis centers on this comparison. He believes a $12.4 trillion market capitalization for XRP is unattainable within the current crypto market size, necessitating a market-wide expansion exceeding any previous industry growth.

Furthermore, Daodu asserts that Bitcoin (BTC) must lead this expansion. Historically, major XRP rallies have followed Bitcoin’s performance, suggesting that capital would likely flow into XRP only after Bitcoin demonstrates sustained strength.

Institutional involvement is another crucial factor, according to Daodu. For XRP to attract the substantial inflows needed to support such a valuation, Bitcoin would need to be in a sustained breakout, with institutions already invested.

    Beyond a Price Target

XRP’s historical performance provides context for the challenges ahead. The token spent approximately 18 months consolidating between 2015 and 2017 before its first major cycle. Later, following years of legal challenges from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), the altcoin rallied from $0.50 to its July 2025 peak.

Daodu emphasizes that significant XRP movements have historically been supported by a long base, a favorable regulatory environment, and a Bitcoin-led market. He suggests that these factors are unlikely to align quickly.

The current cycle follows the same pattern, with XRP down 63% from its current price peak and largely trading within the $1.30 to $1.50 range throughout 2026. The token is still awaiting the regulatory catalyst of the CLARITY Act and remains more reliant on retail investment than institutional flows from exchange-traded fund (ETF) activity. Consequently, Daodu estimates the earliest timeframe for these factors to converge around 2030.

Despite these constraints, Daodu does not dismiss the possibility of XRP reaching $200. He argues that the market is building something that extends beyond price, including payment rails, institutional partnerships, and a regulatory framework.

  • XRP Could Surge to $10 on Ledger Update

XRP Could Surge to $10 on Ledger Update

XRP Price Prediction: Tomorrow’s XRP Ledger Update Could Send XRP Toward $10

XRP is currently trading sideways, with no clear price prediction indicating its next move. The XRP Ledger Foundation’s version 3.1.3 release introduces fixes across non-fungible tokens (NFTs), permissioned domains, vaults, and the lending protocol, and operators have been urged to upgrade nodes immediately.

    XRP Ledger Foundation Announces Upgrade

On May 8, the XRP Ledger Foundation announced on X that rippled v3.1.3 is available. This is a maintenance and bug-fix upgrade that requires no manual voting. The fixCleanup313 amendment bundles patches for NFT logic, permissioned domain handling, vault mechanics, and the lending protocol.

Technically, it is a housekeeping release. However, tomorrow’s mainnet upgrade could potentially push XRP above its current flatline zone.

    Forced Upgrade Deadline

The XRP Ledger has a forced upgrade deadline on Tuesday, and nodes that miss it will go dark. Joel Katz, XRPL co-creator and Ripple CTO, confirmed that the rippled 3.1.3 amendment activates on May 27. Nodes that do not upgrade will become amendment-blocked, losing the ability to validate the ledger.

Market Position and Potential Price Movement

XRP holds an $83 billion market capitalization, maintaining its position as the world’s fifth-largest cryptocurrency, competing with BNB. With altcoin sentiment shifting towards a constructive phase, the upgrade arrives at a moment when even a modest narrative shift could influence the price.

Currently, $1.37 represents the first significant resistance level, with $1.39 as the next potential ceiling. Short-term momentum appears neutral, with the intraday trend showing limited directional conviction.

While there is no breakout signal yet, the range is coiled. The v3.1.3 upgrade could act as a sentiment catalyst if it attracts renewed developer and institutional attention to the XRPL ecosystem, particularly regarding its lending protocol and vault infrastructure.

If XRP can surpass $1.40 due to upgrade momentum, it could target $1.90, with a long-range base scenario placing XRP in the $10+ region in the long run.

However, a break below $1.30 would suggest the consolidation is resolving lower, negating near-term bullish setups entirely. The $10 headline target remains a multi-year thesis, with this week’s upgrade serving as a foundational step.

    Market Dynamics and Alternative Investments

XRP’s $82.6 billion market cap means that even a doubling from current levels would require billions in fresh capital. While not impossible, early-stage infrastructure plays may offer greater potential.

Bitcoin Hyper is positioning itself at a category-defining intersection: the first-ever Bitcoin Layer 2 with full Solana Virtual Machine (SVM) integration. This means sub-second finality and fast smart contract execution built on top of Bitcoin’s security layer, not on a sidechain compromise, but a genuine infrastructure bridge.

The project has raised close to $33 million at a current presale price of $0.0136, with 36% APY staking available for presale participants. The core thesis is to address Bitcoin’s three core limitations: slow transactions, high fees, and zero programmability, while preserving BTC’s trust model.

Hyper also features a Decentralized Canonical Bridge for BTC transfers and high-speed, low-cost transaction execution via SVM integration.

  • Bitcoin Spot Volume Plunges 81% Since October 10th

Bitcoin Spot Volume Plunges 81% Since October 10th

Bitcoin Faces Selling Pressure Amidst Market Uncertainty

Bitcoin is experiencing renewed selling pressure as global financial markets remain dominated by uncertainty, though bulls have thus far managed to defend the crucial $75,000 region. The cryptocurrency remains trapped below key resistance levels after failing to regain momentum above $80,000 earlier this month, leaving traders seeking signs of stabilization or further declines.

    Spot Trading Volumes Plunge

While recent weakness has raised concerns across the market, analyst Darkfost believes a significant indicator is the dramatic collapse in spot trading activity. According to Darkfost’s data, Bitcoin spot trading volumes have fallen to levels historically associated with bear markets. The analyst notes that one must look back to July 2023 to find a period where BTC spot volumes were this low across major exchanges.

Binance, the dominant venue in the crypto market, currently processes around $36.4 billion in trading volume. In October 2025, that figure stood at approximately $198.6 billion. The decline is significant, with Binance volumes nearly five times lower than at the cycle peak, representing an 81% decrease. Other exchanges show similar weakness, with Gateio volumes falling nearly 80% and Bybit recording a 66% drop in activity.

    Macroeconomic Factors Weigh on Crypto

Darkfost explains that the collapse in Bitcoin spot trading activity reflects a broader macroeconomic environment increasingly hostile toward risk assets like cryptocurrencies. Rising inflationary pressures, persistent uncertainty surrounding global monetary policy, and the prolonged US/Iran conflict have pushed investors toward safer assets. Commodities, energy markets, and major equity indices have absorbed a large portion of capital flows that previously rotated into crypto during periods of stronger risk appetite, resulting in a sharp contraction in participation across spot crypto markets.

Lower trading activity often reflects declining enthusiasm, weaker speculative demand, and reduced institutional engagement. However, Darkfost argues that the current setup may not be entirely bearish from a structural perspective. Historically, prolonged declines in spot volume have frequently coincided with the later stages of corrective phases rather than the beginning of major collapses. As participation fades, aggressive selling pressure also begins to weaken because fewer market participants remain actively distributing positions into the market. The analysis points specifically to the 2023 bear market structure, where spot volumes collapsed to similarly depressed levels shortly before Bitcoin stabilized and volatility returned. That period of extreme inactivity ultimately became the foundation for the recovery phase that followed, as exhausted sellers gradually lost control of the market.

    Bitcoin Holds Key Support

Bitcoin continues trading above the critical $75,000 support region despite persistent selling pressure and weakening market participation. The daily chart shows BTC consolidating near $76,800 after rejecting the $82,000 resistance zone earlier this month, with price now trapped between major moving averages as traders await a decisive breakout or breakdown.

Technically, Bitcoin remains above the 50-day moving average, which is currently acting as short-term support around the mid-$75,000 area. That level has become structurally important because it aligns closely with the broader horizontal demand zone between approximately $73,000 and $75,000 highlighted on the chart. Bulls have repeatedly defended this region throughout May, preventing sellers from regaining full control of the trend.

However, the broader structure still reflects caution. The 100-day and 200-day moving averages continue sloping downward overhead, reinforcing the idea that Bitcoin remains inside a larger corrective environment despite the recovery from February’s lows near $63,000. For now, Bitcoin remains in a compression phase. A decisive reclaim of the $80,000–$82,000 region would strengthen bullish momentum, while losing the $75,000 support zone could expose BTC to a deeper retrace toward the $70,000 area.

  • Clean Athletes Triumph Over Doping Rivals

Clean Athletes Triumph Over Doping Rivals

The inaugural Enhanced Games concluded with a mixed outcome, featuring a record-breaking swim, strong weightlifting performances, and victories for clean athletes over their enhanced rivals in several key events.

    Record-Breaking Swim and Financial Rewards

Greek swimmer Kristian Gkolomeev delivered the event’s highlight, clocking a time of 20.89 seconds in the men’s 50-meter freestyle. This performance surpassed the official world record and earned him a $1 million prize from the organizers.

“The [Enhanced Games] last Saturday were not only a spectacular event – they were also a major business success,” wrote Christian Angermayer, an investor and co-founder of the Enhanced Games, on X.

    Unexpected Results and Criticism

Despite the initial hype, several results contradicted the core premise of the Enhanced Games. Multiple athletes using performance-enhancing drugs were defeated by competitors who claimed to be competing without such enhancements.

American sprinter Fred Kerley, competing as a non-enhanced athlete, won the men’s 100-meter final in 9.97 seconds. While this was 0.39 seconds slower than Usain Bolt’s 2009 world record of 9.58 seconds, it came despite claims that Bolt’s record would be “destroyed.”

Kerley reportedly mocked the enhanced athletes he competed against. According to SB Nation, he said in an interview after the race, “They gotta do better than that. They need to train a little harder, get on that shit a little bit more, and go a little harder some more.”

In other events, Tristan Evelyn, a non-enhanced athlete, won the women’s 100-meter final, and swimmer Hunter Armstrong defeated two enhanced competitors to win the men’s 50-meter backstroke.

The Vision and Backing of the Enhanced Games

The event marks the culmination of a multi-year effort by Aron D’Souza, an Australian lawyer who previously assisted Peter Thiel in his lawsuit against Gawker Media. D’Souza founded the Enhanced Games in 2024 and has received backing from Donald Trump Jr., Peter Thiel, and former Coinbase CTO Balaji Srinivasan. D’Souza has argued that current anti-doping regulations are outdated.

“The Olympics are all about the past, they’re about Ancient Greece,” D’Souza previously told Decrypt. “They’re about this natural sports ethos, and they’re stuck in the past. We’re about the future, science, and progress. We’re about acceleration.”

Organizers have positioned the Enhanced Games as part of a broader movement focused on biohacking, longevity research, and human enhancement, with biohacker Bryan Johnson serving as a host.

“I’m cohosting the Enhanced Games this Sunday, first time as a broadcaster,” Johnson wrote on X. “I spent the week with the athletes and doctors. So many moving stories of courage and triumph.”

    Controversy and Skepticism

The competition highlights the growing intersection between Silicon Valley’s optimization culture and elite sports. While organizers frame the Games as a science-driven alternative to Olympic rules, critics argue that it normalizes dangerous drug use for the sake of spectacle and profit.

“Everything about the enhanced games seems so deeply unserious and stupid,” author Brad Stulberg wrote on X.

A post by Steve Magness on X highlighted the underperformance of enhanced athletes, noting that some were slower than their personal bests and, in some cases, slower than high school runners.

    Official Rejection and Future Plans

The World Anti-Doping Agency and World Aquatics have both rejected the legitimacy of the competition, stating that performances from the Games will not be recognized as official records. Despite this, organizers maintain that the Enhanced Games represent the future of athletics.

“Now that we have broken the ice and proven the Games can be done at the highest level, I expect many more partnerships to be signed in the months ahead,” Angermayer wrote. “We are just getting started!”

  • Data Theft Exploits GTA 6 Anticipation, NordVPN Alerts

Data Theft Exploits GTA 6 Anticipation, NordVPN Alerts

Cybercriminals are exploiting the widespread anticipation for Grand Theft Auto 6, flooding the internet with phishing scams and malware ahead of the game’s highly anticipated November release.

    Exploiting Anticipation

According to research from NordVPN’s Threat Intelligence team, malicious actors have quickly moved to capitalize on recent rumors of soon-to-open pre-orders for the game, viewing the hype as an opportunity to harvest data from unsuspecting victims.

The threats range from basic phishing sites to sophisticated, multi-platform malware campaigns targeting platforms that the game won’t initially support, NordVPN reported. The firm added that these threats are appearing in various forms and targeting gamers.

While the VPN provider’s researchers identified campaigns targeting PC and mobile users—platforms on which GTA 6 is not confirmed to release—several websites are promising “exclusive beta keys” for owners of PS5 and Xbox Series consoles. In one case, users seeking access are prompted to pay for subscriptions or download software.

    Preying on FOMO

The company’s findings highlight how cybercriminals often prey on the fear of missing out (FOMO), according to NordVPN CTO Marijus Briedis.

“When people are desperate to get early access to something, their guard comes down,” he noted. “That’s the window attackers exploit.”

Other cybercriminals are targeting gamers who want to obtain Rockstar Games’ next title for free. NordVPN identified several clones of well-known piracy websites designed to distribute malware disguised as game files for Windows machines.

In one instance, running a fake package activated a malicious file disguised as an Nvidia graphics driver, which quietly allowed cybercriminals to alter a device’s memory, download additional malware, and receive external instructions, according to NordVPN.

    Fake Apps and Phishing

Furthermore, a fake Android app—which contains no actual game—uses the game’s branding to silently serve full-screen ads. The app’s users are also directed to websites that encourage subscriptions or the download of further malware, NordVPN said.

Finally, NordVPN reported tracking “hundreds of amateur phishing pages” that target Rockstar Social Club credentials via fake login forms. NordVPN noted that these accounts can be resold on the dark web or used for in-game fraud.

The firm’s researchers traced one fake GTA 6 app for Android users to a domain with a history of distributing banking trojans, ransomware, and infostealers—representing a unique threat to cryptocurrency owners who safeguard digital assets using private keys.

While rumors have circulated for years that GTA 6 will incorporate crypto, these claims remain unsubstantiated as the game approaches its November release. Bitcoin gained prominence in relation to the game when a doctored trailer was leaked years ago.

Sharplink and Forward Industries to Join Russell Indexes

Sharplink, a publicly traded firm holding Ethereum, will be added to the Russell 2000 and 3000 indexes on June 29, according to an announcement made Tuesday. The inclusion is part of the indexes’ semiannual restructuring.

    Peer Inclusion

Sharplink’s inclusion follows that of BitMine Immersion Technologies, another Ethereum treasury firm, which will be added to the Russell 1000 index, tracking the top 1,000 U.S. companies by market capitalization.

“Joining the Russell 2000 and Russell 3000 is a meaningful validation of Sharplink’s institutional-grade ETH treasury strategy and we believe will broaden SBET’s shareholder base while strengthening our access to capital markets,” said Joseph Chalom, CEO of Sharplink, in a statement.

Sharplink currently holds 874,351 ETH, valued at approximately $1.8 billion. According to Yahoo Finance data, the firm was trading at a discount to its Ethereum holdings, with a market capitalization of around $1.22 billion at the close of trading on Tuesday.

    Forward Industries Joins

Forward Industries, a Solana-focused crypto treasury firm, will also be included in the Russell 2000 and 3000 indexes, the company announced.

The medical design firm, which has become a significant holder of Solana, purchased $1.58 billion worth of SOL last year at an average price of about $232 per SOL. However, SOL is now trading at $83.78, a 64% decrease since the firm’s purchase.

Consequently, Forward Industries’ Solana holdings are now valued at approximately $588 million, significantly exceeding its current market capitalization of $350 million. Based on this valuation, the firm is approximately 2.4 times larger than the smallest market capitalization member of the Russell 2000, according to the index fund’s website.

    Index Impact

The inclusion of these firms in the Russell Indexes places them within a group of U.S. indexes with over $12.2 trillion in benchmarks or investments.

“We believe index inclusion will expand our shareholder base, improve trading liquidity, and increase visibility among long-term institutional investors,” said Ryan Navi, CEO of Forward Industries, in a statement.

Shares of the firms reacted differently to the news. Sharplink (SBET) shares dipped about 0.8% on Tuesday, closing at $6.18 per share. Meanwhile, Forward (FWDI) shares rose 2.62%, trading around $4.70 at the close of trading.

  • XRP Ledger Update: What Holders Need to Know

XRP Ledger Update: What Holders Need to Know

The XRP Ledger Gears Up for Version 3.2.0 Update

The XRP Ledger is undergoing another significant update, with version 3.2.0 currently in development. According to Hussein Zangana, Director of Community at the XRP Ledger Foundation, known on X as Vet, this update aims to further fortify the underlying infrastructure of the XRP Ledger. This follows the recent activation of version 3.1.3 in early May.

    Focus on Strengthening the Foundation

The upcoming update, version 3.2.0, is less about introducing flashy new features and more about reinforcing the network’s core functionality. Vet emphasized that the update is designed to strengthen the foundation upon which the XRP Ledger operates. He highlighted the use of AI-powered red and blue team efforts, along with attackathons and bug bounties, as key contributors to this strengthening process.

    Version 3.1.3: A Precursor to 3.2.0

The development of version 3.2.0 follows the release of version 3.1.3 on May 8. According to the official XRPL blog, version 3.1.3 included the fixCleanup313 amendment, which addressed issues related to NFTs, Permissioned Domains, Vaults, and the Lending Protocol. The importance of these fixes led to a default “Yes” vote for the release. This update was particularly significant as it followed the January introduction of Single Asset Vaults and the Lending Protocol in version 3.1.0. The Single Asset Vaults are pools of a single asset designed for use with the Lending Protocol, which facilitates fixed-term, uncollateralized loans using funds from these vaults.

    Impact on XRP Holders

While no specific release date for version 3.2.0 has been announced, the update is primarily an infrastructure upgrade and is not expected to directly impact short-term price movements. However, such updates are crucial for long-term holders. A consistently updated ecosystem demonstrates an active community, which can foster confidence in XRP’s value over time. Version 3.1.3 demonstrated the developers’ commitment to refining newer aspects of the protocol, particularly concerning NFTs, Vaults, Permissioned Domains, and Lending. Version 3.2.0 appears to build upon this work by further solidifying the XRP Ledger’s foundation.
