AI Sex Boom: Over 150,000 Sign Up

Joi AI’s $2,000 Masturbation Study Goes Viral, Attracting 150,000 Applicants

When AI companion company Joi announced in May it would pay individuals $2,000 to test an AI-guided masturbation feature, it anticipated a significant response. However, the campaign unexpectedly went viral, attracting over 150,000 applications.

The overwhelming influx of applications prompted the company to rapidly develop and implement a formal selection process to outline how participants would be chosen.

“It was quite extraordinary,” said Julie Levin, Head of Brand and Communications at Joi AI, in an interview with Decrypt. “We certainly didn’t anticipate receiving such a high volume of applicants, nor did we initially plan for a formal application process.” Joi AI aimed to select 10 participants to ensure a diverse group representing various genders, ages, and preferences, allowing for a broad range of feedback.

Joi AI operates as a virtual companion and NSFW role-play platform, positioning itself within a burgeoning market of web-based AI companion services. Competitors include Candy AI and SpicyChat AI, which, according to app intelligence platform Appfigures, function outside traditional mobile app stores. Even platforms available through Apple’s App Store and Google Play, offering NSFW and romantic AI companions, have generated an estimated $427 million in consumer spending since 2022, Appfigures noted.

Levin reported that applicants for the “masturbation consultant” role hailed from across the globe, with the United States and Nigeria submitting the largest numbers. While the majority of applicants were men in their 20s, Levin also noted a substantial number of female applicants. The pool of candidates included some unconventional résumés, featuring individuals such as a professional sommelier, a former sex worker, and a handyman, all of whom argued for their unique qualifications for the role.

The company, launched in 2023 and rebranded from Eden by Eva AI in 2025, derives its name from Joi, the AI companion character in “Blade Runner 2049.” Levin clarified that any perceived connection to the adult industry acronym “JOI,” standing for “jerk off instruction,” was purely coincidental.

The month-long study, commencing July 1, requires participants to complete three daily surveys. These surveys will measure changes in stress, mood, loneliness, sleep, self-esteem, screen time, cravings, and other wellness indicators, both before and after using Joi AI’s Daily Guided Masturbation feature. Participants will also provide feedback on their experience and suggest platform improvements. The study is scheduled to conclude at the end of July.

Levin emphasized that the $2,000 payment is intended to compensate the 10 participants for their time and commitment to completing the daily surveys, rather than to monetize the act of masturbation itself. She added that the study’s findings will inform decisions regarding potential expansion into a larger research project.

For the participants, the study offered more than just financial compensation. In comments shared with Decrypt by Joi, one participant, using the pseudonym Tango Mike, cited curiosity about AI’s evolving role in intimacy as his primary motivation.

“I was primarily curious about how AI is changing the way people experience intimacy and connection,” Tango Mike stated. “While the compensation certainly made the opportunity more appealing, my genuine interest lay in contributing to a project exploring the intersection of AI, emotional well-being, and human behavior.”

Another participant, known as Keshav, was drawn to the unusual nature of the opportunity.

“It was a truly unique job offer, particularly concerning an activity that is a routine or hobby for many,” Keshav explained. “Furthermore, being compensated for engaging in something typically considered a taboo subject was also unexpected.”

Keshav admitted he had no prior experience with adult AI companions and was intrigued by the prospect of exploring new forms of AI-guided intimacy. He expressed hope that the experience would bolster his confidence in real-life relationships.

“I’m not particularly expressive when interacting with women personally, which is why I’ve been single for some time,” Keshav added. “Using an AI companion could help me explore flirting techniques through technology. The absence of judgment from an AI would indirectly contribute to enhancing my personal development.”

Despite the viral nature of the recruitment posting, the sentiments expressed by Keshav and Tango Mike resonate with Levin’s understanding of the widespread applicant interest.

“We are facing a loneliness epidemic, with increasing isolation, particularly amplified by social media,” she observed. “Surprisingly, AI companionship appears to help alleviate loneliness. Unlike social media, AI companions offer a sense of support and validation, and I believe many individuals struggle to find someone to talk to.”

Levin noted that while many users initially discover Joi AI through its adult content, they often remain engaged for the conversational aspect. This pattern aligns with the company’s research into “AIsexuals”—individuals who form romantic or sexual relationships with AI companions. Researchers have broadly termed this phenomenon “digisexuality,” while online communities have adopted labels such as “AIsexual” and “wiresexual.”

“We conducted a study on what we term ‘AI sexuality,’ referring to individuals interested in relationships with AI as AI-sexuals,” Levin explained. “Many may not identify with this label as it’s not widely recognized, yet they exhibit all the characteristics of AI sexuality.”

Levin also pointed out that some users conceal their AI companions from their significant others due to embarrassment or to explore sexual fantasies they are not comfortable discussing openly.

A study released in May by researchers from Brigham Young University, the Institute for Family Studies, and the Wheatley Institute found that 69% of young adults who regularly use AI romantic companions keep this practice hidden from their partners. However, Levin observed that many Joi AI users eventually transition from requesting explicit content to spending more time engaging in conversations with their AI companions.

Ultimately, Levin stated, the study aims to investigate whether masturbation can be integrated into a healthy wellness routine and to foster a more open dialogue surrounding the topic.

“The premise is that masturbation is a healthy component of a person’s wellness routine, especially for those who are single and not regularly engaging in sexual activity,” she said. “The objective is to identify patterns and demonstrate that masturbation is not something to be hidden or felt ashamed about—it is entirely acceptable.”

BitMine Adds $73M Ethereum, Dumps Bitcoin

BitMine Boosts Ethereum Holdings Amidst Bitcoin Sell-Off

Publicly traded Ethereum treasury firm BitMine Immersion Technologies significantly expanded its Ether holdings last week, adding approximately $73 million worth of ETH. This move comes as its Bitcoin counterpart, Strategy, divested $216 million in BTC to meet dividend obligations.

BitMine’s treasury now boasts 5,742,237 ETH, representing over 4.7% of Ethereum’s circulating supply. Valued at nearly $10 billion, this substantial acquisition was made as ETH traded around $1,752.

The latest purchase marks an increase from the previous week’s $43 million acquisition. BitMine Chairman Tom Lee, an investor in Dastan, the parent company of Decrypt, remains bullish on the crypto market, anticipating a period of prosperity. He cited the increasing likelihood of the Clarity Act’s passage as further evidence supporting his optimistic outlook.

“Over the past few days, investors have become more optimistic about the passage of the Clarity Act, with prediction markets now indicating approximately a 50% probability, the highest odds in two weeks,” Lee stated. He added, “We believe regulatory clarity is an important milestone, enabling crypto, particularly smart contract platforms like Ethereum, to benefit, as crypto becomes part of our everyday life.”

As of Monday morning, the odds of the bill’s passage this year stood at around 48% on Polymarket, a 4% increase over the past week. However, this figure is down 34% from a February high of approximately 82% in support of passage before the end of 2026.

Investor optimism surrounding BitMine was reflected in its stock performance on Monday, with shares jumping more than 5% shortly after market open to trade around $15.14. Lee noted that the stock’s recent inclusion in the Russell 1000 index is expected to substantially increase institutional ownership of the firm’s shares. “Being added to the Russell 1000 is expected to add hundreds and possibly thousands of additional institutional investors as equity owners of BitMine,” he said.

In addition to its ETH purchase, BitMine has increased its staked ETH to 4,879,157, or nearly 85% of its total holdings. This move projects an annualized staking revenue of $235 million.

Ether has seen a gain of over 10% in the last week, trading around $1,752. Despite this recent surge, it remains 65% below its all-time high of $4,946.

  • WhiteBIT Revamps VIP Program: Qualify by Balance, Trading, or Lending

WhiteBIT Revamps VIP Program: Qualify by Balance, Trading, or Lending

WhiteBIT Revamps VIP Program for Easier Access and Retention

Vilnius, Lithuania – July 6th, 2026 – WhiteBIT, recognized as Europe’s largest cryptocurrency exchange by traffic, has announced a significant overhaul of its VIP Program. The redesigned initiative aims to simplify the process of achieving and maintaining VIP status, now allowing members to qualify by meeting any single criterion rather than a combination of two.

    New Qualification Pathways

The revamped program is structured around the diverse ways professional users manage their capital, moving away from a rigid, singular formula. Members can now attain VIP status by satisfying any one of the following four independent metrics: average balance, spot trading volume, futures trading volume, or crypto lending.

    How the Program Works

This shift is illustrated by the example of a member whose trading activity may decrease over a quarter but who simultaneously holds assets in a 60-day Crypto Lending plan. Under the previous model, this alone would not have been sufficient for VIP status, as balance and volume typically needed to be considered together. However, with the new structure, the crypto lending position by itself is now enough to retain their existing VIP level.

    Strategic Rationale Behind the Changes

The core principle guiding this redesign is that capital actively working for a member should contribute to their VIP standing. A key change is the inclusion of crypto lending. Previously, assets allocated to lending plans were excluded from balance calculations, meaning funds generating yield did not count towards VIP status. Now, crypto lending qualifies independently, enabling members to earn returns on their capital while simultaneously building their platform status.

This evolution has resulted in a program that better reflects members’ actual operational strategies, whether they are actively trading, engaging in long-term holding, or utilizing lending services, rather than requiring them to conform to a single, restrictive formula. The introduction of four distinct qualification routes also enhances the stability of VIP status; progress in any one area is now sufficient to maintain a given level, even if performance in another area fluctuates. Support has been correspondingly enhanced, with members receiving a dedicated personal manager from the first VIP tier onward, accessible via Telegram, email, WhatsApp, or scheduled calls.

VIP membership confers benefits such as reduced trading fees, increased operational limits, and priority service. The redesigned program ensures that achieving and retaining this status more accurately mirrors how members currently utilize the WhiteBIT platform.

  • Crypto Surges Over Holiday Weekend

    Crypto Surges Over Holiday Weekend

Crypto Surges Over the Holiday Weekend as ETF Flows Flip Green

Cryptocurrencies experienced a significant surge over the July 4 holiday weekend, with major assets climbing and painting the weekly charts green while U.S. markets remained closed.

Bitcoin reclaimed highs above $63,000, marking a 5% increase for the week, though altcoins spearheaded the rally. Among them, LIT saw a substantial 44% jump to $2.50, reaching a new local high following its integration with Robinhood. The broader CMC20 index, which tracks the top 20 digital assets, rose approximately 9%.

Two primary factors contributed to this reversal. Firstly, a softer-than-expected June jobs report released on Thursday, which showed only 57,000 new payrolls compared to an estimated 113,000, alleviated concerns about further interest rate hikes and provided a boost to risk assets.

More significantly, however, was the shift in exchange-traded fund (ETF) flows. After experiencing record outflows totaling over $4 billion in June, spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded net inflows of $223.5 million on July 2. Ethereum ETFs also saw positive inflows for two consecutive days, adding approximately $15 million on July 1 and $29 million on July 2. This marks the first tangible sign of a reversal in the institutional selling that characterized June’s market downturn.

This rebound follows a challenging period, with Bitcoin opening July at a 21-month low of $57,950, after enduring its worst first half of the year since 2018 and 2022. During this period, large holders, often referred to as “whales,” had been absorbing the selling pressure from ETFs, acquiring roughly $16.7 billion worth of Bitcoin over two weeks. This pattern of accumulation by whales has historically preceded market bottoms. The positive shift in ETF flows is a development that many bullish investors had been anticipating.

Michael Saylor’s ecosystem also benefited from the Bitcoin rally. MicroStrategy (MSTR) stock rebounded 21% to reclaim the $100 mark, while its subsidiary, Saylor Technologies (STRC), jumped 21% to close the week at $87.87, recovering from lows near $70.

While a couple of days of positive performance do not erase the impact of a month marked by record outflows, altcoins outperforming Bitcoin is a classic indicator of increased risk appetite in the market. For the first time in weeks, the flow data suggests an upward trend. The market will now be watching to see if this momentum can be sustained once full market liquidity returns.

Solana Tokenized Assets Hit Record $5.77B in Q2 2026

Solana Dominates Tokenized Asset Volume in Q2 2026 Record

Solana concluded the second quarter of 2026 with a record-breaking $5.77 billion in tokenized asset spot volume, a milestone confirmed by data analyst Sam Schubert on July 1. This figure dwarfs the $775 million generated in the latter half of 2025 by more than sevenfold, solidifying Solana’s position as the leading settlement layer for on-chain equities and signaling a significant shift in institutional capital’s on-chain movement through tokenization.

Raydium Leads the Charge in Tokenized Equities

Throughout the quarter, Raydium emerged as the primary platform for tokenized equities on Solana. The exchange announced on July 1 that it is “the #1 venue for tokenized asset spot volume on Solana.” Raydium’s concentrated liquidity pools facilitate the majority of xStocks trading pairs, with the protocol adding its latest billion in cumulative tokenized equity volume within a single month, a pace that significantly contributed to the quarter’s headline figure.

    June Sees Unprecedented Trading Activity

The latter part of the quarter, particularly June, was characterized by intense trading. During the week of June 15–21, Solana processed $1.298 billion of the $1.324 billion in global weekly tokenized stock volume, capturing a 95% market share. On June 24, daily tokenized equities trading reached a record $644 million, surpassing memecoins as a proportion of Solana’s spot volume for the first time. June alone generated over $2 billion in monthly tokenized stock volume, the highest single-month figure ever recorded across any blockchain. The final week of Q2 saw a weekly all-time high of $1.42 billion before the full quarterly data was released, underscoring the rapid acceleration in activity towards the quarter’s end.

Solana’s Sustained Dominance in Tokenized Equities

The Solana Foundation’s May 2026 ecosystem report indicated that Solana held a 97% share of cumulative on-chain tokenized equity spot trading volume, a lead that had been building for over a year prior to the Q2 surge. Data shows Solana has maintained its lead in tokenized equities for 54 consecutive weeks. The network’s sub-second finality and low transaction fees are cited as the structural reasons for this liquidity concentration, outperforming Ethereum and other competing Layer 1 blockchains.

    Broader Real-World Asset Ecosystem Flourishes

The broader landscape of real-world assets (RWAs) on Solana further supports this trend. The May 2026 report also highlighted over $2.8 billion in total on-chain RWA value and $1.2 billion in RWA lending deposits. This context helps explain significant institutional involvement, such as BlackRock’s deployment of a $255 million institutional liquidity fund on Solana and Ondo’s $176 million exposure to tokenized yield on the network. These investments are characterized as regulated capital seeking the execution quality offered by Solana’s DeFi infrastructure at scale, rather than speculative plays.

    Cross-Chain Growth and Future Outlook

Cross-chain tokenized equity trading reached $5.3 billion in May 2026, a 44% increase from April, with Solana accounting for the vast majority of this volume. While other chains are not closing the gap, Solana’s ongoing development in on-chain governance and network infrastructure, coupled with a pipeline of new tokenized equities like SPYx, QQQx, NVDAx, and other xStocks instruments, suggests a continued concentration of volume rather than dispersion.

Building on a Foundation for Monetization

0xINFRA, a member of Raydium’s leadership, views Q2’s success as a foundational step. The focus is shifting from resilience to conversion, aiming to broaden LaunchLab distribution, sustain liquidity depth driven by concentrated liquidity market makers (CLMMs), and translate tokenized asset share gains into repeatable monetization strategies. For Raydium, volume share is a prerequisite, with fee generation and sustainable liquidity depth being the next critical tests.

    Regulatory Tailwinds and Market Momentum

The regulatory environment is a significant factor. Bitwise has suggested that the passage of the U.S. CLARITY Act could accelerate tokenization and position Solana as a primary beneficiary. Although this legislation is still pending, the market has already responded, with $5.77 billion in Q2 on-chain volume occurring without such a framework in place. Should the CLARITY Act pass, the addressable market for tokenized stocks would expand considerably, further amplifying Raydium’s existing infrastructure advantage. Solana price forecasts for the remainder of 2026 increasingly incorporate this RWA momentum as a key driver.

  • Brandt Predicts Bitcoin Drop, Eyes Gold

Brandt Predicts Bitcoin Drop, Eyes Gold

Bitcoin Faces a Crucial Test as Gold Gains Traction

Bitcoin is currently undergoing a significant test, with its price predictions offering little solace. Year-to-date, BTC has seen a decline of approximately 28%, starkly contrasting with gold’s modest 3.9% drop. This widening gap has ignited a fervent debate: will capital flow back into cryptocurrencies, or will it continue to gravitate towards the world’s oldest safe-haven asset?

Veteran chart analyst Peter Brandt has publicly stated he is considering divesting some of his Bitcoin holdings in favor of gold. His conviction stems from an analysis of the long-term XAU/BTC chart, suggesting gold is poised for substantial outperformance against Bitcoin. This represents a notable pivot for Brandt, who is typically recognized for his adherence to price action rather than speculative narratives.

“I am contemplating selling some of my Bitcoin and going to Gold with the money. Looks to me that Gold is going to gain substantially on Bitcoin $XAUBTC,” Brandt tweeted, accompanied by a chart.

However, not all prominent figures share this view. Dave Portnoy has doubled down on his Bitcoin commitment, asserting he will hold the cryptocurrency even if its value plummets to zero. This leaves traders caught between two diametrically opposed convictions, with both sides exhibiting unwavering confidence. Historically, markets sometimes test the resolve of both camps before ultimately charting a definitive direction.

The recent performance figures underscore the intensification of this debate. Bitcoin experienced a significant 20% drop in June, marking its worst monthly performance in four years. Gold also saw a decline, falling about 11.7% to near $4,000 an ounce, but its overall yearly depreciation remained considerably less severe.

    The Bitcoin-Gold Narrative

For the moment, the Bitcoin-versus-gold dynamic has emerged as a dominant theme in the market. Should Bitcoin begin to regain lost ground, cryptocurrency bulls will likely interpret the recent sell-off as a mere shakeout. Conversely, if gold continues its upward trajectory, Brandt’s assessment could prove prescient rather than controversial.

Current Market Dynamics and Price Outlook

Bitcoin is currently trading near $63,200, having recovered from recent lows, but its momentum remains mixed. For the bulls to signal a definitive breakout, a convincing push above the $72,000 to $75,000 range is required. Until then, the market is keeping traders in suspense rather than allowing for celebration.

Meanwhile, stable macroeconomic conditions and indications of seller fatigue have helped to defend the $60,000 support level. Some analysts view the $60,000 to $75,000 range as a healthy consolidation zone. Others, however, contend that Bitcoin remains trapped within a distribution range, leaving the possibility of a decline towards $50,000 open should this support falter.

    Long-Term Forecasts and Bullish Scenarios

Despite the short-term uncertainty, long-term forecasts for Bitcoin remain optimistic. Several institutional analysts continue to project Bitcoin reaching $150,000 within the current cycle. More aggressive projections extend even further, though these targets are contingent upon increased ETF demand, more favorable regulatory environments, and supportive macroeconomic conditions.

The current bullish case for Bitcoin is straightforward. A decisive move above $75,000 could pave the way towards $85,000. The base case scenario anticipates Bitcoin trading between $60,000 and $72,000 before another breakout attempt. The bearish outlook suggests continued weakness, potentially dragging prices down to $50,000. When seasoned chart watchers begin to eye an exit, even the most ardent bulls tend to pause and reassess.

Shifting Opportunities in the Crypto Landscape

If Bitcoin’s near-term upside is constrained by distribution pressures and uncertainty surrounding institutional rotation, the asymmetric opportunity at this stage of the cycle may be shifting towards early-stage infrastructure projects. This is particularly true for those with genuine technological differentiation, rather than those relying on speculative positioning.

The ongoing debate between holding and selling at the market’s apex historically compresses Bitcoin’s short-term trading range as capital seeks the next growth driver.

Bitcoin Hyper ($HYPER), a Bitcoin Layer 2 solution, integrates the Solana Virtual Machine, marking the first project to achieve this on the Bitcoin network. It offers sub-second finality and low-cost smart contract execution while inheriting Bitcoin’s robust security. The presale has raised nearly $33 million at a current price of $0.0136827, with staking live and offering high APY during the presale period. Its core proposition is to merge Bitcoin’s trust model with Solana-level throughput via a Decentralized Canonical Bridge for BTC transfers. Bullish long-term narratives for Bitcoin structurally benefit Layer 2 infrastructure that expands the network’s capabilities.

  • Senate Faces August Deadline on CLARITY Act

Senate Faces August Deadline on CLARITY Act

CLARITY Act Faces Tight Four-Week Deadline Before Senate Recess

The Digital Asset Market Clarity Act, or CLARITY Act, has missed a July 4 signing deadline previously suggested by White House crypto advisor Patrick Witt. The bill now faces a critical four-week window before the Senate adjourns for its summer recess on August 7.

While the bill is not definitively stalled, the legislative calendar is unforgiving, and a key ethical dispute that has prevented Democratic support remains unresolved.

The CLARITY Act has advanced further than any previous legislative effort to structure the cryptocurrency market. The House of Representatives passed the bill in July 2025 with a vote of 294 to 134. The Senate Banking Committee subsequently advanced the bill on May 14 by a vote of 15 to 9, and it was placed on the Senate Legislative Calendar under General Orders on June 1, making it technically eligible for floor debate. However, it cannot bypass the 60-vote threshold required for cloture, a number Republicans cannot achieve on their own.

The most recent development confirms that the original target of having the CLARITY Act signed into law by July 4 has been missed, significantly narrowing the legislative timeline. Although much of the coordination on the Senate side can continue behind the scenes during the summer recess, the path forward remains challenging.

    Ethical Standoff Hinders Democratic Support

Only two Democrats voted in favor of the bill during the committee stage: Ruben Gallego of Arizona and Angela Alsobrooks of Maryland. To secure the necessary seven or more Democratic floor votes, the conflict-of-interest provision must be resolved. Following that, cloture must be filed, and then a substantial portion of a Senate work week would be dedicated to debate and passage, all before the August 7 recess.

Following the recess, the fall legislative calendar is expected to be dominated by debates over the National Defense Authorization Act and appropriations bills. Furthermore, the intensifying midterm election campaigning is likely to make bipartisan deal-making more structurally difficult. The August recess deadline has been apparent for months, yet the bill has consistently failed to bridge the remaining divides.

    Disclosure Fuels Ethical Debate

President Trump’s annual financial disclosure revealed approximately $1.4 billion in crypto-related income for 2025, derived from sources including memecoin royalties, World Liberty Financial token sales, and other revenue streams, in addition to disclosed crypto holdings exceeding $100 million.

Senator Elizabeth Warren, the ranking Democrat on the Banking Committee, stated that any bill reaching the floor must prevent officials and their families from “profiting off the crypto industry.” Gallego echoed these sentiments, vowing to “do everything I can” to crack down on what he described as corrupt dealings, underscoring that his committee vote did not guarantee his support on the Senate floor.

The financial disclosure does not alter the fundamental negotiation. Democrats had already sought to include ethics language before the disclosure was made public; the revealed figures provide a more prominent headline but do not offer additional leverage in the negotiations.

The White House’s position, as articulated by Witt, is to accept the principle of rules applying “across the board” but to reject any measures that specifically target a single officeholder. This standoff predates the financial disclosure and will need to be resolved on the same terms regardless. Concerns about crypto profits by administration officials have drawn scrutiny beyond this particular bill, with conflicts surrounding senior officials and digital asset holdings becoming a recurring theme in Washington.

Adding to the Democrats’ demands, a recent Supreme Court ruling allowing the president to dismiss independent-agency commissioners at will has weakened one of their key negotiating points: a bipartisan slate of commissioners for the SEC and CFTC. If the president can freely remove these officials, the negotiated value of a bipartisan appointment is diminished before it is even codified into law.

Ripple Secures Full European License, Paving Way for Expanded Crypto Services

Ripple has announced it has received full authorization as a Crypto Asset Service Provider (CASP) from Luxembourg’s Commission de Surveillance du Secteur Financier (CSSF). This significant development grants the company behind XRP the ability to offer its regulated crypto payments platform across the entire European Economic Area (EEA).

The approval follows a preliminary authorization granted in June and confirms Ripple’s full compliance with the European Union’s Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) framework. With this CASP license, Ripple is now positioned to deliver its comprehensive crypto payment solutions to financial institutions, corporations, and businesses in all 30 EEA countries under a unified regulatory structure.

Cassie Craddock, Ripple’s Managing Director for Europe and the UK, highlighted the importance of this authorization. She stated that it enables the firm to expand its regional presence as the demand for regulated digital asset infrastructure continues to rise.

“This CASP authorization means Ripple enters the post-transitional MiCA era fully compliant and ready to scale,” Craddock commented. “The institutions we work with across Europe are looking to build their digital asset services alongside regulated partners, and Ripple is licensed and ready to meet that demand.”

The announcement also noted that Ripple is now among a select group of cryptocurrency firms to hold full authorization under MiCA. This latest license adds to Ripple’s growing portfolio, which now includes over 75 regulatory licenses globally.

  • XRP Surges on Volume and ETF Inflows

XRP Surges on Volume and ETF Inflows

XRP Price Surges Past $1.14 Amidst Heavy Buying and ETF Demand

XRP’s price has broken above the $1.14 resistance level, propelled by significant buying volume and optimistic market sentiment. The cryptocurrency saw a notable climb from approximately $1.13 to $1.15 during recent trading sessions, with a particularly strong surge occurring late on July 5 as trading activity significantly outpaced daily averages. The critical question now is whether the $1.14 level will hold as support or revert to resistance.

Technicals and Institutional Demand Drive Breakout

This price movement was not solely driven by technical indicators. Spot XRP Exchange-Traded Funds (ETFs) have recorded nine consecutive weeks of net inflows, indicating sustained institutional interest despite broader market volatility. Concurrently, a wave of short covering contributed to the price acceleration once the key resistance was overcome.

    CLARITY Act Faces Senate Delay

Meanwhile, the CLARITY Act awaits Senate action, having missed a vote prior to the congressional recess. This delay postpones a potential regulatory catalyst, though it does not eliminate it. Until lawmakers reconvene, traders are expected to prioritize price action over political developments.

Future Price Action Hinges on Support Levels

The upcoming trading sessions will be crucial in determining whether buyers can maintain recent gains. A sustained hold above $1.14 could fuel further momentum for XRP towards new highs. Conversely, a failure to hold this level might signal another “head fake,” suggesting the market is still testing the patience of traders.

XRP is currently trading around the $1.14 mark, having briefly tested the $1.16 area before encountering selling pressure. This positions $1.16 as the immediate hurdle for bulls. Despite this, several technical signals suggest buyers are attempting to regain control after breaking a short-term downtrend.

Key Resistance and Support Levels Identified

Immediate resistance is observed near $1.18, followed by $1.20 and $1.23. On the downside, support is established at $1.13, with further levels at $1.11 and $1.08. The current chart suggests a period of patience is required from traders rather than expecting immediate, easy gains.

    MVRV Metric Suggests Caution

The Market Value to Realized Value (MVRV) metric offers a note of caution, as recent readings remain deeply negative. This indicates that a significant number of holders are currently experiencing unrealized losses, which can incentivize selling as prices approach break-even points. However, such conditions have also historically marked reversal zones in previous market cycles.

    Potential Scenarios for XRP

If XRP maintains its position above $1.14 and reclaims $1.18 with robust volume, momentum could propel it towards $1.20 and $1.23. Alternatively, the token might consolidate within the $1.13 to $1.18 range for several sessions, a less dramatic but potentially strategic phase before the next significant move.

A decisive close below $1.11 on increasing volume would undermine the current bullish structure, shifting focus to the $1.08 support zone. Until then, the bullish outlook remains intact, albeit requiring persistent optimism from traders.

    XRP’s Breakout in Broader Context

While XRP’s breakout narrative is valid, its significance must be contextualized. Even a move to $1.25 represents a modest single-digit percentage increase from current levels, offering a meaningful return for swing traders but limited impact for portfolio-altering gains.

Traders seeking asymmetric exposure during this phase of institutional momentum are increasingly exploring early-stage infrastructure projects where price discovery is still nascent.

LiquidChain ($LIQUID), a Layer 3 infrastructure project, is positioning itself as a cross-chain liquidity layer for the next development cycle. Its core offering aims to unify liquidity from Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana into a single execution environment, allowing developers to deploy applications across these ecosystems without the risks associated with bridges or fragmented liquidity pools.

The LiquidChain presale is currently priced at $0.01477, having raised $888,000 to date. Its architecture, featuring a Unified Liquidity Layer and Single-Step Execution, addresses a persistent user experience challenge in multi-chain decentralized finance. Research into the LiquidChain presale is recommended before the current fundraising phase concludes.

    Resurgence Sparks Bullish Predictions

The notable recovery in XRP’s price has reignited optimism among its most ardent supporters, with new forecasts of substantial rallies and price peaks emerging over the weekend.

Crypto trader Nehal highlighted XRP’s one-week trading chart, illustrating a downward trend that began a year ago from a peak of $3.65. Currently, XRP is testing the upper boundary of this trend, situated around $1.12-$1.15. A successful breach of this level could signal the start of a new upward trajectory. Nehal anticipates a potential 250% rally, which could propel the altcoin to a new all-time high exceeding $4.

    Analysts Eyeing Significant Gains

Fellow analyst Mikybull Crypto echoed this bullish sentiment, suggesting that “something massive is coming for XRP.” While their analysis also focused on XRP’s performance against Bitcoin, which has mirrored the declining trend, their price target against the U.S. dollar was even more ambitious, set at $5.

Mikybull Crypto tweeted, “Seeing this chart, it gives you a clue that something massive is coming for XRP. $5 will be the minimum conservative target for what is coming.”

    Historical Context and Market Conditions

While predictions of $4 or even $5 for XRP may seem ambitious given current market conditions and sentiment, the token has a history of dramatic price swings. Notably, in late 2024 and early 2025, XRP experienced a rapid ascent from $0.50-$0.60 to $3.40 within a few months.

    Breaking Through Resistance

Celal Kucuker also observed XRP’s price action relative to the broader market, suggesting the altcoin is at a critical juncture. Kucuker pointed out that a descending red channel, which has resisted XRP’s breakout attempts in recent months, is nearing a breach.

Kucuker expressed a significantly more bullish outlook, indicating that such a breakout could lead XRP to “outperform Bitcoin by 10x.” Their ultimate price target for the token is $12, a level they predict XRP could reach as Bitcoin establishes new all-time highs.

Kucuker posted on X, “The XRP/BTC chart is approaching a major moment. The red descending channel is close to breaking. When that breakout happens, I expect Ripple to outperform Bitcoin by 10x from here. By the time $BTC is printing new ATH, $XRP will likely already be trading above $12. Save this…”

    “Massive Decision Point”

Analyst SUNCOAST joined the chorus of those predicting a significant move for XRP, describing the current moment as a “massive decision point.” SUNCOAST noted that XRP’s multi-month falling wedge pattern is “compressed to the absolute max,” suggesting a substantial upward movement is imminent. While no specific price target was provided, SUNCOAST indicated that the “expansion will be violent” once a breakout is confirmed.
