  • Ripple’s XRP Network Now Serves Over 500 Banks

Ripple’s XRP Network Now Serves Over 500 Banks

A directory within Ripple’s payments documentation has sparked interest among XRP supporters after a user highlighted its extensive list of over 500 financial institution identifiers across various regions. These identifiers primarily facilitate payment routing and operational processes. However, the directory’s size has renewed focus on Ripple’s global payments network and the potential role of XRP within it.

    Ripple’s Expanding Banking Network

The central point of discussion is Ripple’s payments documentation, which includes comprehensive bank identifier directories used within its payment ecosystem. The directory encompasses financial institutions from numerous countries and regions, featuring entries from major banks such as ANZ, Commonwealth Bank, HSBC Australia, ING, Macquarie Bank, Westpac, and National Australia Bank, as well as smaller regional institutions and many others. Each organization is assigned a unique identifier to streamline payment routing within Ripple’s network.

It is crucial to understand that the presence of an identifier in Ripple’s directory does not automatically signify that a bank is using XRP. These identifiers primarily serve as routing references, enabling payment participants to identify financial institutions and process transactions accurately across Ripple’s payment network.

What is of interest to XRP investors is not the existence of the identifiers themselves, but what they reveal about Ripple’s long-term strategy. Ripple Payments can be viewed as a global payment rail connecting banks, payment providers, exchanges, and financial institutions. Once institutions are connected to the network, they can transfer money across borders more efficiently than through traditional correspondent banking systems.

    XRP’s Place In The Network

Traditionally, banks often need to maintain substantial amounts of foreign currency in pre-funded accounts worldwide to facilitate international transfers. Ripple’s On-Demand Liquidity (ODL) solution can mitigate this requirement by utilizing XRP as a bridge asset.

For example, if a bank in Australia wants to send funds to a recipient in another country, XRP can act as the temporary settlement layer. The payment can be converted into XRP, transferred within seconds, and converted into the destination currency almost instantly. The transaction settles quickly without requiring multiple intermediaries or pre-funded accounts.

The practical implication is straightforward: the greater the payment volume flowing through XRP-based liquidity solutions, the greater the potential demand for XRP. Increased utility can support adoption because institutions are using the asset. This does not mean every institution in Ripple’s directory will adopt XRP, nor does it guarantee higher prices. Many organizations currently use Ripple’s payment technology without utilizing XRP for settlement. Nevertheless, the presence of over 500 identifiable institutions within Ripple’s payment framework demonstrates that the company has already built substantial financial infrastructure. If a growing portion of these connections eventually migrates toward XRP-powered liquidity, the result could be increased transaction volume, stronger network effects, broader institutional adoption, and potentially greater long-term demand for XRP.

  • Wintermute Fuels Liquidity on Kalshi and Polymarket

Wintermute Fuels Liquidity on Kalshi and Polymarket

Wintermute, a major market maker in the cryptocurrency industry, confirmed on Friday that it is providing liquidity on prediction markets.

The London-based firm, which claims to process over $3.5 trillion in annual trading volume, announced in a blog post that it has been actively “quoting two-sided markets across event contracts on leading venues.”

A source familiar with the matter told Decrypt that these venues include Polymarket and Kalshi. This suggests that capital is flowing dynamically between the two platforms, a process designed to make it easier for traders to buy and sell positions without significant price fluctuations.

    Liquidity and Market Development

In a statement, Wintermute’s Head of OTC Trading, Jake Ostrovskis, described the liquidity profile for prediction markets as being in an “early-stage,” a characteristic that contrasts with growing demand.

“For these markets to become a reliable real-time source of probability estimates, they need sustained two-sided liquidity,” he said. “That depth tightens spreads, supports larger trade sizes, and in turn improves the signal embedded in market prices.”

The announcement underscores a fundamental operational connection between two companies operating in an emerging market. Kalshi has repeatedly stated that its business is exclusively based in the U.S., while Polymarket’s primary venue operates offshore.

    The Role of Liquidity Providers

Rather than betting on the outcome of an event, liquidity providers aim to facilitate trades, primarily profiting from the “spread,” or the difference in costs associated with buy and sell orders. In a casino analogy, they would be akin to card dealers rather than gamblers.

Wintermute stated that its involvement in the prediction market space transforms the platforms from “a nice forecasting tool into a broader venue for trading event risk,” adding that providing liquidity enhances the reliability of the probabilities displayed on Polymarket and Kalshi.

Separately, the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) issued an order on Friday allowing Kalshi to offer perpetual futures in the U.S. that are tied to Bitcoin’s price. Last year, Wintermute CEO Evgeny Gaevoy told Bloomberg that the firm plans to place a “new added focus on the U.S.”

  • Ripple Banking License Fuels XRP Price Speculation

Ripple Banking License Fuels XRP Price Speculation

Ripple’s pursuit of full banking status is a major topic of discussion within the XRP community, with some analysts and enthusiasts speculating whether this regulatory milestone could propel XRP to unprecedented price levels. The company’s financial standing, its expanding institutional presence, and developments within the XRP Ledger (XRPL) infrastructure are fueling ambitious forecasts, including a target of $25 per coin.

Ripple’s Banking Approval: A Key Factor

In December 2025, Ripple received conditional approval from the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) for a national bank charter, a first for a crypto-native company. This charter paves the way for the establishment of Ripple National Trust Bank, which will handle custody and manage reserves for Ripple’s RLUSD stablecoin.

A viral post on X from the XRP enthusiast account KingXRP claimed that Ripple had “officially obtained a banking license,” with its valuation exceeding $120 billion. While this statement reflects the excitement surrounding the development, it lacks crucial context. The OCC conditionally approved Ripple’s application to establish Ripple National Trust Bank. However, Ripple has also applied for a Federal Reserve master account, which would allow the trust bank to directly access FedWire and FedNow systems and hold dollar reserves at the central bank. Gaining this access would integrate Ripple into the core infrastructure of the U.S. payments system.

What XRP Needs to Reach $25

Ripple’s most recent publicly reported private valuation was approximately $40 billion following a $500 million strategic investment round. However, Ripple holds an estimated 42 billion XRP on its balance sheet. Approximately 4.5 billion to 6.4 billion XRP are held directly in company wallets, while roughly 33 billion XRP are locked in cryptographic escrow accounts. If Ripple holds 40 billion XRP and the price returns to $3, those holdings alone would be worth about $120 billion on paper.

A move to $25 would require XRP to become more than just an asset reacting to news headlines, and its banking approval would need to contribute to a wider adoption cycle. With a current circulating supply of about 61.9 billion XRP, a $25 price would place its market value above $1.5 trillion. According to KingXRP, if XRP surpasses $25, Ripple’s balance sheet alone could exceed $240 billion, potentially positioning the company among the top 10 banks globally.

Supporting the idea of banking approval driving broader adoption, infrastructure is being built on the XRP Ledger. One notable development involves RealFi Payment Solutions, which recently announced a partnership with Shopify to develop the first XRP Ledger-powered payment rewards application for global e-commerce.

  • Exchange-Backed OP Chains Generate Almost $500M in Revenue, Says OP Labs

Exchange-Backed OP Chains Generate Almost $500M in Revenue, Says OP Labs

OP Labs announced that exchange-owned chains built on the OP Stack generated over $495 million in application revenue during the second half of 2025. This figure encompasses sequencer fees from transactions, revenue from applications integrated directly into exchange platforms, and onchain assets.

    Shifting Value Dynamics

According to an official press release shared with CryptoPotato, OP Labs noted that exchanges historically depended on third-party networks, which captured a significant portion of the value generated from settlement activity, application fees, and broader onchain monetization linked to user activity.

However, in the past year, applications running on exchange-owned chains built on the OP Stack have seen rapid expansion. OP Labs highlighted that Morpho’s total value locked (TVL) on Coinbase-backed Base increased from $48 million at the beginning of 2025 to over $960 million by the end of the year, representing nearly 20x growth. The company attributed this growth primarily to lending products integrated directly into the Coinbase app, rather than through wallet-based user acquisition.

Base has now become Morpho’s second-largest chain globally and accounted for 32% of Morpho’s application fees in H2 2025, which OP Labs stated was 13 times that of Arbitrum and 60 times that of OP Mainnet.

    Expanding Onchain Market

Meanwhile, Kraken’s Ink chain added over one million unique addresses since December 2024. OP Labs reported that less than 0.6% of those addresses had any prior onchain history with Kraken, while the remaining 99.4% represented net-new onchain wallets. This was presented as evidence that exchange-owned chains are expanding the overall onchain market rather than simply shifting existing users between networks.

OP Labs further noted that Tydro, the Aave V3 white-label lending protocol launched on Ink in October 2025, reached $100 million in TVL within its first 24 hours and surpassed $500 million within 90 days. The company stated that comparable Aave deployments on neutral Layer 2 networks previously took between 142 and 721 days to reach similar milestones.

    Ecosystem Growth

Optimism Foundation’s Chief Business Officer Kyle Jenke stated that the H2 figures demonstrated a shift from the previous system, where exchanges profited from trading while external networks captured subsequent value. He added, “Exchanges now own the settlement, distribution, and application layers their users transact on. They’re doing it on a shared standard precisely so they don’t fragment from each other in the process.”

Across the broader ecosystem, OP Stack chains secured $16.33 billion in total value, held $6.8 billion in DeFi TVL, and processed 3.6 billion transactions during H2 2025. This represented an all-time high across more than 50 live chains, encompassing exchanges, consumer applications, financial infrastructure, and developer platforms.

Additionally, regulated companies are also adopting the OP Stack for institutional blockchain projects. Bitpanda’s Vision Chain utilizes the OP Stack for institutional finance aligned with Europe’s MiCA and MiFID II regulations, while Japan’s Mitsui & Co. Digital Commodities launched the regulated precious-metals-backed Zipangcoin on OP Mainnet.

  • Samsung Invests $408 Million in South Korean Crypto Exchange

Samsung Invests $408 Million in South Korean Crypto Exchange

Samsung Affiliates Invest $408 Million in Crypto Exchange Upbit

Three Samsung affiliates have collectively acquired a 4% stake in Dunamu, the operator of South Korea’s leading cryptocurrency exchange Upbit, for approximately 612.8 billion won ($408 million). The move, announced on May 28, reflects the growing trend of South Korean financial institutions seeking strategic positions within the country’s most valuable digital asset company.

    Transaction Details

The shares will be purchased from a group of Kakao-affiliated funds, including Kakao Investment and Kakao Ventures, at a per-share price of roughly 439,250 won. This valuation implies Dunamu’s total corporate worth is approximately 15.3 trillion won, or roughly $11.1 billion, according to Wu Blockchain and the Korea Times. Samsung Securities will acquire a 2% stake, while Samsung SDS and Samsung Card will each take 1%. The transaction is scheduled to close on June 19, according to the Korea Times.

    Strategic Objectives of Each Affiliate

Each Samsung entity has a distinct operational agenda for the investment, according to the Korea Times. Samsung Securities plans to strengthen cooperation on token securities issuance, distribution, and virtual asset services. Samsung SDS, the group’s IT and cloud arm, intends to combine its artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and data management capabilities with Dunamu’s blockchain operational infrastructure. Samsung Card, the group’s payments unit, aims to build a digital asset payment ecosystem with Dunamu, potentially integrating with Monimo, Samsung Financial Networks’ unified financial platform, pending the introduction of won-based stablecoins in Korea. These objectives align with the pillars of South Korea’s Digital Asset Basic Act, expected to be finalized in 2026, according to the Korea Times.

    Broader Industry Context

Samsung’s $408 million investment comes as South Korea’s institutional financial sector increasingly focuses on Dunamu. Earlier this month, Hana Bank agreed to purchase a 6.55% stake for approximately 1 trillion won ($670 million), according to the Korea Times. Hanwha Investment and Securities has also increased its Dunamu holdings to 9.84%, committing an additional 597.8 billion won, making it one of Dunamu’s largest non-founding shareholders, according to Wu Blockchain. Dunamu reported a net profit of 708.8 billion won on revenues of 1.56 trillion won in fiscal 2025 and handles over 80% of South Korean virtual asset trading volume, according to the Korea Times.

A Samsung official told the Korea Times that the investment aims to strengthen each affiliate’s competitiveness in digital asset-related businesses. The official added that closer cooperation with Dunamu could help the companies secure leadership positions in Korea’s emerging digital asset market.

This development signifies a critical moment for the integration of the nascent sector with Korean corporate conglomerates. Samsung’s investment in a crypto exchange, even at 4%, carries significant symbolic weight, indicating that South Korea’s most powerful industrial dynasty now views digital asset infrastructure as a core component of its financial services strategy for the coming decade.

  • Falcon Finance, Anchorage Launch fUSD Stablecoin with Ceffu Rewards

Falcon Finance, Anchorage Launch fUSD Stablecoin with Ceffu Rewards

Falcon Finance and Anchorage Digital Bank Launch fUSD

GEORGE TOWN, CAYMAN ISLANDS, May 27th, 2026 – Falcon Finance and Anchorage Digital Bank, N.A. today announced the launch of fUSD, a U.S. dollar payment stablecoin designed to meet institutional compliance mandates while offering rewards to qualifying holders. The stablecoin will launch on Ceffu’s institutional custody and collateral infrastructure.

With over $320 billion in dollar stablecoins currently in circulation, and short-dated Treasury yields near 4%, holders collectively forgo over $10 billion annually in potential returns. fUSD aims to address this by sharing a portion of its reserve economics with eligible holders.

fUSD is built to be GENIUS Act ready, the federal framework for payment stablecoins enacted on July 18, 2025. The GENIUS Act restricts stablecoin issuers from paying interest or yield to holders. While Anchorage Digital Bank issues fUSD, it does not pay yield or rewards on the stablecoin itself. Instead, rewards are offered by a separate entity and are tied to the stablecoin’s underlying collateral, such as U.S. Treasuries. Falcon Finance, as the name partner, will operate an institutional rewards program, targeting approximately 3% per year. These rewards are exclusively available to institutional entities that enter a contractual agreement with Falcon.

Falcon Finance, which has a synthetic dollar protocol with $1.63 billion in USDf circulating supply and is ranked among the top ten stablecoins on Ethereum by market cap, will be a launch holder of fUSD, deploying a portion of its corporate reserves into the stablecoin.

    Institutional Focus

fUSD is supported by Ceffu’s institutional custody and collateral infrastructure, which is also used by leading trading firms and liquidity providers, including FalconX, Presto, and Orderly. By launching fUSD on Ceffu, Falcon Finance aims to provide a regulated, rewards-bearing dollar for professional desks, treasury desks, high-frequency trading firms, and counterparties operating under strict compliance mandates.

Andrei Grachev, Founding Partner of Falcon Finance, stated that fUSD addresses the needs of desks operating under compliance mandates that synthetic and offshore stablecoins were not designed to satisfy. He added that the regulated dollars available today offer no returns, and fUSD closes both gaps.

Nathan McCauley, CEO and Co-Founder of Anchorage Digital, emphasized that fUSD is built for institutional use, made possible by their federal bank charter.

Ian Loh, CEO of Ceffu, highlighted the value of integrating fUSD into Ceffu’s ecosystem, providing institutional-grade custody and collateral utility.

    Complementary Products

Falcon Finance now offers two complementary dollar products. USDf, the overcollateralized synthetic dollar, continues to serve DeFi-native users and multi-collateral mandates. fUSD extends Falcon’s reach to federally-regulated treasury desks, compliance-constrained counterparties, and institutional collateral mandates that require a regulated, non-synthetic dollar.

    About Falcon Finance

Falcon Finance is developing a universal collateral layer that converts any liquid asset, including digital assets, currency-backed tokens, and tokenized real-world assets, into USD-pegged onchain liquidity. By bridging onchain and offchain financial systems, Falcon enables institutions, protocols, and capital allocators to unlock stable, yield-generating liquidity from their existing assets.

  • XRP’s Utility Outpaces Market Cap Measures

XRP’s Utility Outpaces Market Cap Measures

XRP Redefines Value Assessment in Crypto Market

XRP is gradually reshaping how value is assessed in the cryptocurrency market, as its utility-focused narrative expands beyond simple market capitalization comparisons. While some assets are primarily judged on speculative valuation, XRP’s role within the global payments infrastructure introduces a different framework centered on efficiency, liquidity, and real-world usage.

How Institutional Payment Flows Could Shape XRP Demand

XRP should be viewed less as a traditional cryptocurrency and more as a digital commodity designed to facilitate liquidity across global financial networks. According to CharuSan, market capitalization is a stock metric that fails to capture XRP’s true role as an institutional bridge asset powering global value transfer and liquidity pools.

As adoption expands across banks, foreign exchange (FX) markets, and clearing institutions such as the Depository Trust and Clearing Corporation (DTCC), Nostro and Vostro accounts, and others, are beginning to use XRP at scale. Consequently, the price will be calculated based on the supply within Ripple payments (ODL). Currently, it is being calculated through the available effective liquidity, not just the circulating supply alone.

CharuSan explains that transaction velocity alone cannot replace liquidity depth, particularly when multiple institutions are processing larger simultaneous volumes of global transactions. Furthermore, velocity has limits. Even in an optimized system, one XRP can realistically circulate a maximum of ten times per day. XRP is designed for deep liquidity pools and enables high-value unit capacity, which is required to eliminate slippage and neutralize volatility risk for banks during high-value transfers.

Trump’s Fintech Order Sparks New Optimism For XRP Adoption

A recent fintech-focused executive order from President Donald Trump could represent a significant development for the broader digital asset industry and potentially for XRP’s long-term utility. A crypto analyst known as BankXRP on X stated that by instructing the Federal Reserve (Fed) to evaluate granting crypto firms direct access to US payment infrastructure, the policy introduces a pathway for blockchain companies like Ripple to integrate directly with the traditional financial system.

This administration could be transformational for Ripple, allowing it to access Fed payment rails to bypass legacy banking intermediaries entirely. For the XRP ecosystem, the result would likely be faster settlement speeds, lower institutional transaction costs, and direct access to Fed master accounts. BankXRP argues that if this review is successful, such a shift could elevate XRP’s role from a largely speculative asset to a regulated financial instrument embedded within global payment networks and a foundational pillar of international commerce.

Analyst Skipper has updated that Ripple has reportedly reached a significant milestone by securing a banking license. The report suggests that the move has helped elevate Ripple’s valuation above $120 billion, reaffirming its position as a major financial infrastructure company tied to the XRP ecosystem.

  • Clean Athletes Triumph Over Doping Rivals

Clean Athletes Triumph Over Doping Rivals

The inaugural Enhanced Games concluded with a mixed outcome, featuring a record-breaking swim, strong weightlifting performances, and victories for clean athletes over their enhanced rivals in several key events.

    Record-Breaking Swim and Financial Rewards

Greek swimmer Kristian Gkolomeev delivered the event’s highlight, clocking a time of 20.89 seconds in the men’s 50-meter freestyle. This performance surpassed the official world record and earned him a $1 million prize from the organizers.

“The [Enhanced Games] last Saturday were not only a spectacular event – they were also a major business success,” wrote Christian Angermayer, an investor and co-founder of the Enhanced Games, on X.

    Unexpected Results and Criticism

Despite the initial hype, several results contradicted the core premise of the Enhanced Games. Multiple athletes using performance-enhancing drugs were defeated by competitors who claimed to be competing without such enhancements.

American sprinter Fred Kerley, competing as a non-enhanced athlete, won the men’s 100-meter final in 9.97 seconds. While this was 0.39 seconds slower than Usain Bolt’s 2009 world record of 9.58 seconds, it came despite claims that Bolt’s record would be “destroyed.”

Kerley reportedly mocked the enhanced athletes he competed against. According to SB Nation, he said in an interview after the race, “They gotta do better than that. They need to train a little harder, get on that shit a little bit more, and go a little harder some more.”

In other events, Tristan Evelyn, a non-enhanced athlete, won the women’s 100-meter final, and swimmer Hunter Armstrong defeated two enhanced competitors to win the men’s 50-meter backstroke.

The Vision and Backing of the Enhanced Games

The event marks the culmination of a multi-year effort by Aron D’Souza, an Australian lawyer who previously assisted Peter Thiel in his lawsuit against Gawker Media. D’Souza founded the Enhanced Games in 2024 and has received backing from Donald Trump Jr., Peter Thiel, and former Coinbase CTO Balaji Srinivasan. D’Souza has argued that current anti-doping regulations are outdated.

“The Olympics are all about the past, they’re about Ancient Greece,” D’Souza previously told Decrypt. “They’re about this natural sports ethos, and they’re stuck in the past. We’re about the future, science, and progress. We’re about acceleration.”

Organizers have positioned the Enhanced Games as part of a broader movement focused on biohacking, longevity research, and human enhancement, with biohacker Bryan Johnson serving as a host.

“I’m cohosting the Enhanced Games this Sunday, first time as a broadcaster,” Johnson wrote on X. “I spent the week with the athletes and doctors. So many moving stories of courage and triumph.”

    Controversy and Skepticism

The competition highlights the growing intersection between Silicon Valley’s optimization culture and elite sports. While organizers frame the Games as a science-driven alternative to Olympic rules, critics argue that it normalizes dangerous drug use for the sake of spectacle and profit.

“Everything about the enhanced games seems so deeply unserious and stupid,” author Brad Stulberg wrote on X.

A post by Steve Magness on X highlighted the underperformance of enhanced athletes, noting that some were slower than their personal bests and, in some cases, slower than high school runners.

    Official Rejection and Future Plans

The World Anti-Doping Agency and World Aquatics have both rejected the legitimacy of the competition, stating that performances from the Games will not be recognized as official records. Despite this, organizers maintain that the Enhanced Games represent the future of athletics.

“Now that we have broken the ice and proven the Games can be done at the highest level, I expect many more partnerships to be signed in the months ahead,” Angermayer wrote. “We are just getting started!”

  • Grayscale ETF Boosts SUI’s Institutional Profile

Grayscale ETF Boosts SUI’s Institutional Profile

Grayscale Expands Digital Asset Lineup with SUI ETF

SUI is poised for greater adoption in the financial mainstream as Grayscale introduces a dedicated Exchange Traded Fund (ETF) focused on the rapidly expanding blockchain network. This new investment vehicle will offer institutional and traditional market participants a regulated means of gaining exposure to SUI, simplifying the operational complexities often associated with direct cryptocurrency ownership.

How Grayscale’s ETF Bridges SUI to Traditional Finance

Grayscale Investments is aggressively targeting institutional investors with the launch of a SUI Staking ETF, aiming to attract direct allocation flows from Wall Street. A crypto analyst known as Whale Factor on X noted that this investment vehicle will provide direct exposure to the asset while incorporating native proof-of-stake yield into the fund’s net asset value.

The launch coincides with structural improvements across the Sui network, including the elimination of gas fees for key stablecoin corridors. Simultaneously, the Chicago Mercantile Exchange Group (CME) is preparing to launch 24/7 regulated futures on May 29, completing the structured institutional framework across spot exposure, yield generation, and derivatives. Whale Factor questions whether this regulatory and derivative expansion will trigger a significant supply shock for SUI.

Sui is introducing a significant change in how stablecoin transfers are handled by removing the need for separate gas tokens, making transactions more efficient and cost-effective. According to the Sui Community, this innovation has strong implications for real-world adoption in businesses that rely on frequent stablecoin transfers, offering a seamless movement of value without hidden steps or extra costs. This approach enhances efficiency and scalability for high-volume use cases, positioning Sui as a robust infrastructure layer for businesses planning to integrate stablecoin payments.

Market Confidence Returns After Support Test

SUI has reached a critical technical juncture after recently testing local lows and successfully testing a key support zone, potentially setting the stage for a rebound. Sui Media has stated that the SUI price action is experiencing a classic market structure, where an asset briefly dips below support to capture liquidity before reclaiming the level and beginning a recovery.

As investors regain confidence in the market, momentum typically begins to shift. As the price recovers, momentum can accelerate, attracting more investors. If this pattern continues, SUI could be entering the early stages of a larger upward move. With targets over $1.7 coming back into focus, the current setup suggests a scenario where momentum builds progressively.
