XRP Wave Structure Emerges: What’s Next?

XRP Enters Critical Juncture as Wave Structure Nears Completion

XRP has entered a pivotal stage as a long-anticipated wave structure, closely tracked by traders for months, finally begins to materialize. With increasing volatility and crucial price levels on the horizon, the cryptocurrency’s next movements could offer significant insights into whether XRP is nearing a bottom or poised for another downward leg before a sustained recovery can commence.

Breaking Key Support as Long-Awaited Setup Unfolds

According to analysis from CasiTrades, the cryptocurrency market is exhibiting the selling pressure that many analysts have predicted for months. Consequently, XRP has begun to fall below a key support level, indicating that the current correction may be entering a more decisive phase.

The analyst explained that the development of smaller subwaves has been under close observation to ascertain whether the market’s ultimate downside target would be around $1.10 or the $0.87 support zone. Based on the current structure, CasiTrades believes XRP is forming a subwave 3 decline, a phase typically characterized as the strongest and fastest part of an Elliott Wave correction. Such waves often accelerate downside momentum, rapidly driving prices toward significant support areas.

From a technical perspective, the 1.618 Fibonacci extension of the current move suggests a target near $0.92. This level sits just above the long-discussed $0.87 support zone, reinforcing the notion that XRP could be approaching a critical juncture.

XRP’s Projected Roadmap: Drop, Bounce, Then One Final Test

CasiTrades’ current market roadmap for XRP outlines an anticipated trajectory comprising three distinct phases. The initial expectation is a sharp move downward toward the $0.92 level, followed by a relief bounce back toward approximately $1.20, which is projected to act as resistance. This path concludes with a final downward move aimed at testing the critical $0.87 support zone.

However, it is crucial to acknowledge that market behavior rarely aligns perfectly with theoretical projections. While this three-wave sequence represents the primary expectation, there is a distinct possibility that the market could deviate from this path. If the reaction from the W3 low demonstrates sufficient force, there is a viable chance that XRP may not require a final wave to reach the $0.87 support. The earliest indication of this scenario would be the price reclaiming key resistance levels and decisively breaking above $1.30 with clear strength.

“We have spent the last four months monitoring the market as this specific structure developed, and we are finally arriving at the most critical phase,” CasiTrades stated. “As we approach these pivotal levels, the upcoming price action will be decisive in determining whether the correction concludes early or proceeds to its final intended target.”

Anthropic: AI Developing AI, Humans May Be Hindering Progress

AI’s Growing Role in Its Own Development Raises Questions About Human Oversight

Artificial intelligence has become so adept at writing code and conducting research that the primary bottleneck in developing new AI systems may now be the humans overseeing them, according to a new study by Anthropic.

In its report, titled “When AI Builds Itself,” published Thursday, Anthropic argued that its AI model, Claude, is already contributing to the creation of future AI systems by generating code, executing experiments, and aiding in research. This trend, the company suggests, could eventually lead to recursive self-improvement, a scenario where AI systems assist in designing their own successors.

Anthropic stated that Claude now authors over 80% of the code integrated into its codebase and has helped engineers increase code output by approximately eightfold since the beginning of 2024.

“Prior to Claude Code’s launch in research preview in February 2025, this figure was in the low single digits,” Anthropic noted, adding that the shift is also evident in the amount of output per engineer. “Lines of code merged per engineer per day remained constant throughout Anthropic’s first four years (2021-2024), then began to increase in 2025 when Claude started running code rather than merely suggesting it for engineers to copy and paste.”

Anthropic outlined several potential future scenarios: AI progress could decelerate, humans could retain control while AI automates a significant portion of the work, or AI systems could eventually begin enhancing their own successors.

“Taken to its extreme, and with sufficient computational power, this trend points toward an AI system capable of fully autonomously designing and developing its own successor,” Anthropic wrote. “This is known as recursive self-improvement. We are not yet at that point, and recursive self-improvement is not guaranteed. However, it could arrive sooner than most institutions are prepared for.”

The company acknowledged that it is too early to determine the most probable outcome but asserted that AI is already contributing to AI development. Anthropic also conceded that lines of code are an imperfect metric for productivity.

“None of this guarantees recursive self-improvement is on the horizon,” Anthropic later wrote on X. “It’s not yet clear that Claude is capable of research judgment—of choosing the right problems to work on.”

The report emerges as AI companies increasingly position their models as research collaborators rather than mere chatbots. Anthropic indicated that the surge in code output reflects a broader acceleration in software development driven by increasingly sophisticated AI agents.

Last month, Anthropic upgraded its flagship Claude model to Opus 4.8, continuing a consistent release schedule aimed at improving coding, reasoning, and autonomous task performance. Concurrently, rival developer OpenAI has adopted a similar strategy with its advanced models, releasing GPT-5.5 and GPT-Rosalind in April.

In May, Google unveiled Gemini Spark, a personal AI agent designed to operate proactively. It manages tasks across various applications, highlights items requiring attention, and completes jobs in the background.

The report also coincides with Anthropic’s growing emphasis on AI systems capable of operating with greater autonomy as the company prepares for a potential public offering. In recent months, Anthropic has demonstrated advancements in coding, agentic workflows, and long-duration task execution, while highlighting Claude Mythos’s ability to detect software vulnerabilities and conduct complex cybersecurity research.

“Humans will play a substantially diminished role in their development, likely shifting most of our effort toward oversight, validation, and verification of an expanding ‘virtual lab’ managed by AI systems,” the company stated. “We anticipate that systems capable of automated AI research and development would possess skills transferable to other scientific domains, enabling them to begin revolutionizing other fields.”

Crypto Moguls Fund Farage’s Reform UK with $9.4M

Crypto Billionaires Fuel Reform UK’s Fundraising Surge

Nigel Farage’s Reform UK party has received a significant financial boost in the first quarter of 2026, collecting $9.4 million (£7 million) from cryptocurrency billionaires Christopher Harborne and Ben Delo. This sum reportedly surpassed the total donations received by both the Conservative and Labour parties during the same period.

    Generous Contributions from Tech Titans

Christopher Harborne, identified as the UK’s sixth-richest individual with an estimated net worth of $24.4 billion (£18.2 billion), made a £3 million donation to Reform UK on January 23. Harborne, a prominent crypto investor who has resided in Thailand for over two decades and holds a 12% stake in stablecoin issuer Tether, has become a substantial benefactor to the party. In 2025, he previously made a record-breaking £9 million donation to Reform UK, the largest recorded gift to a UK political party from a living donor.

Ben Delo, co-founder of the cryptocurrency exchange BitMEX, contributed £4 million through two separate payments in January and March. Delo, who recently returned to the UK from Hong Kong, had previously pleaded guilty in 2022 to violating the U.S. Bank Secrecy Act for failing to implement anti-money laundering protocols at BitMEX. He received a presidential pardon from Donald Trump last year.

Reform UK Outpaces Major Parties in Fundraising

These substantial crypto-related donations propelled Reform UK to a £9.3 million fundraising quarter, eclipsing the Conservative Party’s £6 million and Labour’s £4.1 million. Across all UK-registered political parties, reported donations in the first quarter of 2026 totalled £24 million, with the combined contributions from Harborne and Delo to Reform UK accounting for 28% of this figure.

Political Donations in the Digital Age

The influx of capital from crypto billionaires comes at a time when the UK has announced a moratorium on political donations made in cryptocurrency, alongside a cap on overseas donations from British expatriates. These measures were introduced following the government-commissioned Rycroft review. Prior to this ban, Reform UK was the only major British political party that had accepted cryptocurrency donations, although neither Harborne nor Delo’s recent contributions were made directly in crypto.

Harborne has publicly stated that he believes he was “the reason” behind the cap on overseas donors and suggested that the policy could face legal challenges. He has not ruled out returning to the UK to circumvent the restrictions.

    Concerns Over Campaign Finance

Campaign finance reform advocates have pointed to these donations as indicative of systemic issues within the political funding landscape. Olly Buston, chief executive of Clean Up Westminster, commented, “When a tiny number of wealthy donors can spend millions promoting the politicians and causes they favour, it’s no surprise people feel politics is rigged against them.” He added, “The rich and powerful shouldn’t be able to buy themselves a louder voice in our democracy.”

Reform UK has positioned itself as a strong proponent of cryptocurrency within British politics. Party leader Nigel Farage declared in October 2025 that he would be a “champion” for digital assets. The party’s platform includes pro-crypto policies such as the establishment of a crypto strategic reserve and reductions in capital gains taxes on cryptocurrency.

Meanwhile, Farage is currently under investigation by parliament’s standards watchdog regarding the proper declaration of a separate £5 million gift from Harborne. During Prime Minister’s Questions on Wednesday, Prime Minister Keir Starmer accused Farage of “dodging questions” concerning this gift. Farage had previously stated he was under “no obligation” to declare the donation, asserting it had been reviewed “from every legal angle.” While initially claiming the donation was for his personal security, he later described it as a “reward” for his Brexit campaigning.

  • Looksmaxxing Trend Fuels $100M Crypto Black Market

Looksmaxxing Trend Fuels $100M Crypto Black Market

Crypto Fuels Surge in Gray Market for Peptides

A rapidly expanding gray market for peptides has emerged as one of cryptocurrency’s newest high-volume sectors, processing over $100 million annually primarily through Bitcoin and stablecoin payments, according to a report released Thursday by Chainalysis.

The blockchain analytics firm observed a significant surge in crypto flows to peptide vendors, jumping from approximately $12 million in the fourth quarter of 2025 to $32 million in the first quarter of 2026, marking a 159% increase. The market is currently on track to process around $39 million in the second quarter, the firm stated.

“What began as a quiet, underground community of biohackers using crypto to bypass traditional gatekeepers has since mutated into a financial juggernaut,” Chainalysis wrote. “Fueled first by sudden political legitimacy and later by a viral internet subculture known as ‘looksmaxxing,’ the on-chain peptide ecosystem is experiencing a breakout.”

Looksmaxxing is a social media-driven trend focused on maximizing physical attractiveness through fitness, grooming, diet, supplements, cosmetic procedures, and other appearance-enhancing interventions. Unlike biohacking, which generally aims to improve health, performance, or longevity, looksmaxxing is primarily focused on appearance.

Peptides are short chains of amino acids used in medical and cosmetic treatments, including the active ingredients behind popular weight-loss drugs such as Ozempic and Wegovy. While the availability and cost of these drugs have decreased under President Donald Trump’s administration, demand for cheaper alternatives has fueled a growing network of overseas suppliers selling unbranded peptide products directly to consumers.

Unlike earlier online black markets like the Silk Road, Chainalysis noted that gray markets gained popularity during the rise of the Make America Healthy Again movement and growing interest in alternative health approaches, but have accelerated sharply in early 2026. The firm estimates the sector is now processing tens of millions of dollars in cryptocurrency each quarter, putting it on pace to exceed a $100 million annual run rate.

Many vendors, the report indicated, rely on Bitcoin and stablecoins due to banks and payment processors restricting payments related to unapproved pharmaceutical compounds. Many of the larger operators are increasingly favoring stablecoins, which are typically pegged to the dollar and reduce exposure to crypto market price swings.

“This preference for stability becomes especially pronounced at the wholesale level,” Chainalysis wrote. “When isolating vendors that average $1,000 or more per deposit, the asset mix shifts heavily toward majority stablecoins—a potentially calculated move to insulate massive supply chain orders from the unpredictable price fluctuations of the broader crypto market.”

Separately, the firm identified several Chinese chemical manufacturers that it says moved into peptide sales after previously supplying fentanyl and amphetamine precursors, including Shanghai Sigma Audley and Bigreat Technology.

“By transitioning to gray-market peptides, these China-based suppliers are now selling highly coveted, finished products directly to the end consumer,” the report stated. “This direct-to-consumer model allows them to cut out the cartel middlemen, capture the full retail profit margin, and vastly increase their revenue while simultaneously lowering their legal risk.”

  • Ripple Firm: Banks Already Using XRP Daily

Ripple Firm: Banks Already Using XRP Daily

Evernorth, a treasury firm focused on XRP and backed by prominent investors including Ripple, Kraken, Pantera Capital, and SBI Holdings, is informing institutional investors that real banks are already utilizing XRP. The company asserts that the next 18 months will be defined not by the occurrence of adoption news, but by its scale and regulatory framework.

    XRP Ledger Activity Surges

Evernorth’s claim is specific: daily transactions on the XRP Ledger have surged to nearly 3 million, a significant increase from approximately 1 million in mid-2025. Among the most active participants on the network are Bitstamp, Ripple’s RLUSD stablecoin, and Braza Bank. While this volume is a concrete figure, its implications for broader banking utility remain a subject of discussion.

The underlying tension is structural. Reports indicate that XRP Ledger transaction volume has tripled in roughly 12 months. Furthermore, at least one major European bank has reportedly deployed its regulated euro stablecoin on XRP, selecting it as one of four public chains for this purpose.

However, XRP’s on-chain metrics and exchange flows present a more nuanced picture, raising questions about whether this volume represents sustained banking infrastructure or a concentrated surge driven by a limited number of known entities. The marketing narrative and the on-chain data are not contradictory, but they do not fully align.

    Institutional Adoption vs. Pilot Programs

Evernorth’s chief executive, Asheesh Birla, has stated that XRP’s long-term value will stem from its use by banks and businesses as working capital, rather than from retail trading. This perspective is significant as it sets a specific standard for evidence: bank-originated settlement volume, not speculative demand or ETF flows. By this measure, the available data offers partial support and remains aspirational in some areas.

The reported increase in XRPL daily transactions to nearly 3 million is documented and verifiable. The prominent entities driving this traffic—Bitstamp, RLUSD, and Braza Bank—are identifiable financial institutions, not anonymous wallets or entities engaged in wash trading.

In May 2026, Evernorth highlighted a tokenized U.S. Treasury redemption that involved Mastercard, J.P. Morgan’s Kinexys, Ondo Finance, and Ripple, utilizing the XRPL as the common settlement layer. This transaction facilitated Ripple’s receipt of USD proceeds in Singapore outside of standard banking hours. Evernorth described XRP in this instance as “settlement infrastructure in one of the most significant cross-institutional blockchain transactions to date.” This transaction did occur and is not fabricated.

    Geographic Concentration and Future Developments

While these events are real, the data does not yet definitively confirm whether they represent systematic banking adoption or high-profile pilot programs. Ripple’s On-Demand Liquidity service has been operational since at least 2018, using XRP as a bridge asset for cross-border transactions in regions such as the Middle East and Southeast Asia. The volume in these corridors is substantial but geographically concentrated, differing from the global banking network suggested by broader narratives.

In 2026, institutional-sized transfers on the XRPL have remained stable. However, Chainalysis data suggests that these transfers are increasingly competing with USDC and wholesale Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) projects for a share of institutional settlement flows.

The XRPL protocol itself is undergoing upgrades designed to address these specific challenges. Pending amendments include Token Escrow, a Permissioned DEX, and Restricted Environments, which are compliance infrastructures specifically developed to provide regulated institutions with whitelisted venues and escrowed settlement flows on-chain.

The proposed XLS-66 XRP Lending Protocol aims to embed single-asset XRP vaults, fixed-term loans, and ZK-enhanced privacy directly into the ledger, eliminating the need for external smart contracts and bridges. Validators are currently voting on XLS-66, which requires an 80% supermajority for activation. This protocol is not yet live. Analysts following the proposal have characterized it as an effort to unlock a potential $100 billion lending and collateral market on the XRPL. However, until consensus is reached, this remains an infrastructure concept under development rather than active banking activity on the ledger.

  • Renowned Economist Declares Crypto a ‘Failed’ Asset Class

Renowned Economist Declares Crypto a ‘Failed’ Asset Class

Crypto Largely a Failed Asset Class, But Blockchain Innovation Continues, Says Analyst

Economist and macro trader Alex Krüger has asserted that “crypto” has largely failed as an asset class, despite accelerating adoption of blockchain-based technologies across stablecoins, tokenization, prediction markets, perpetual futures, AI, and privacy-focused assets. In a recent post on X, Krüger drew a clear distinction between the speculative crypto market of past cycles and the segments of the industry he believes are still demonstrating significant traction.

His central argument was stark: most crypto tokens have failed to generate lasting value for their holders, while founders and insiders have repeatedly exploited the sector’s limited regulatory oversight to extract liquidity from retail investors.

“I largely think of ‘crypto’ as a failed asset class at this point,” Krüger stated. “I’ve written about the causes multiple times. Mainly, most crypto assets are worthless, or have dreadful value accrual, and most founders have abused the lack of guardrails and dumped on people indiscriminately, or are outright scammers.”

Krüger attributed further damage to what he termed the “Memecoins SuperBullshitCycle,” describing it as a speculative trend that “brought the worst out of people” and depleted both capital and morale among market participants. He also highlighted the “never-ending wave of DeFi hacks,” which he noted has increased sharply since last April, as another factor undermining crypto’s credibility as an investable asset class.

Krüger Sees Adoption Rising, But Not in “Old Crypto”

The economist acknowledged that his assessment might appear contradictory, given the rapid expansion of several blockchain-linked sectors. He pointed to growing stablecoin adoption, the emergence of openly pro-crypto politicians in the United States, traditional finance’s push to tokenize assets, increased use of equity and commodity perpetuals on offshore and DeFi platforms, the early development of U.S. perpetual futures markets, and the growing presence of prediction markets in everyday information flows.

However, Krüger framed many of these trends as being “more ‘blockchain’ than ‘crypto’,” suggesting that while the infrastructure and application layers may be advancing, the legacy token market remains structurally weak. In his view, the key exceptions are where tokens exhibit clearer links to revenue, user demand, or capital return mechanisms.

“A few among those exceptions even distribute most revenue to holders via buybacks,” he wrote, specifically naming Hyperliquid. “Which is what every investor actually wants to see to be invested in a good business rather than a fleeting narrative.”

This distinction lies at the heart of Krüger’s argument. He is not suggesting that blockchain-based markets are defunct. Instead, he contends that broad, narrative-driven crypto exposure has failed to deliver the value accrual that investors were promised, while a more select group of sectors has begun to resemble operating businesses or infrastructure plays.

    Privacy and AI Stand Out

Krüger identified privacy as one of the few “old school” crypto categories that retains relevance. He argued that demand for private, non-custodial stores of value is genuine, even if some of that demand originates from illicit flows. He referenced the U.S. Department of Justice’s seizure of $15 billion in Bitcoin from Cambodia-linked pig butchering operations, noting that the legal filing was submitted on October 8, 2025.

“Of course, everyone needs privacy, not just criminals, but crime flows are real, and large,” Krüger wrote. “The asset attracting the most flows in this niche is Zcash. Zcash’s recent performance has been fascinating, as it has been trending higher with bitcoin trending lower, a sign of real reallocation among bitcoiners.”

The other category Krüger believes is not dead is AI. However, his view of this sector was selective. He described most AI tokens as “high flying, fundamentally lacking, narrative driven tokens,” while singling out Venice as a standout, which he sees as tied to a private AI platform with growing users and revenue.

This leads Krüger to a more nuanced conclusion than his initial headline claim might suggest. He views the old token market as broken, but not the broader trajectory of crypto-enabled infrastructure. Stablecoins, tokenized assets, prediction markets, perpetual futures, AI, and privacy may constitute the sector’s next investable narrative, provided the associated tokens can demonstrate actual value capture rather than recycled speculation.

“So one could say old ‘crypto’ is a failed asset class,” Krüger wrote, “but from the ashes come new beginnings, and the new face of crypto is one heavily dominated by the needs of Tradfi, prediction markets, AI, and privacy.” His closing remark encapsulated the contradiction he perceives in the market: “Crypto sucks. Long live crypto.”

At press time, the total cryptocurrency market capitalization stood at $2.28 trillion.

Security Veterans Demand Senate Pass CLARITY Act

Security Veterans Urge Senate to Advance Crypto Illicit Finance Bill

More than 160 former national security, intelligence, and law enforcement officials are pressing the U.S. Senate to advance the CLARITY Act, asserting that its passage would bolster efforts to combat illicit finance within the cryptocurrency sector.

The appeal, coordinated by the Blockchain Association, was formalized in a letter addressed to Senate Majority Leader John Thune and Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer. The industry group announced the initiative on X, emphasizing that the structure of the digital asset market is a “law enforcement and national security priority.” The letter argues that as cryptocurrency activity continues its global expansion, it is imperative for the United States to establish a regulatory and oversight framework for the industry.

According to the signatories, a failure to do so risks pushing more activity offshore into less transparent markets, making them more difficult for U.S. authorities to monitor and investigate. This, they warn, creates vulnerabilities that can be exploited for illicit financial activities.

“It is critical for the United States that this activity occurs under American rules, with American oversight, and subject to American Law,” the letter states.

The former officials contend that enacting the CLARITY Act would enhance national security, improve the visibility of law enforcement operations, and equip investigators with more robust tools to combat financial crime. This, in turn, would make it more challenging for criminal networks to launder money, circumvent sanctions, and engage in fraud.

Data from the Bank Policy Institute (BPI) indicates a significant surge in illicit crypto flows, which rose by 162% year-on-year last year. The BPI also clarified that the CLARITY Act is not a deregulatory measure but rather aims to strengthen enforcement, enhance compliance accountability, and foster better coordination across digital asset markets.

The proposed legislation would extend the Bank Secrecy Act, imposing compliance requirements on digital commodity brokers, dealers, and exchanges. It would also mandate anti-money laundering obligations, along with reporting and monitoring requirements. Furthermore, the bill includes a Treasury-led pilot program for information sharing among agencies such as the Department of Justice (DOJ), the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA). It also proposes a permanent interagency working group dedicated to counter-illicit finance initiatives.

The Blockchain Association announced that its members and other industry participants are scheduled to visit Washington, D.C., for a series of meetings across 18 Senate offices. The group is also planning a virtual town hall later this week to discuss the CLARITY Act’s contributions to law enforcement and national security efforts. Expected attendees include Senator Cynthia Lummis, House Majority Whip Tom Emmer, and Patrick Witt.

The letter concludes with a direct call for the Senate to pass the CLARITY Act. The bill has recently received approval from the Senate Banking Committee but is encountering significant opposition from some lawmakers and banking industry representatives.

XRP Price Slides to 15-Week Low Amidst Conflicting Signals

XRP’s price has hit a 15-week low of $1.18 before recovering to hover around the $1.20 mark. The outlook for the cryptocurrency in the coming sessions is uncertain, marked by a divergence between on-chain data and price action.

The recent downturn was significant, with trading volume surging to 205.7 million XRP yesterday, pushing the price below the $1.25 support level. This triggered a sharp decline before buyers intervened.

XRP Drops 5% to $1.20, Breaches $1.25 Support on High Volume

The sell-off occurred despite a backdrop that typically signals accumulation. In recent days, over 25 million XRP has been withdrawn from exchanges, a trend usually associated with investors increasing their holdings. Concurrently, inflows to Binance have fallen to their lowest levels of 2026. This presents a puzzling scenario: bullish on-chain indicators clashing with bearish price movements.

XRP is currently trading between $1.21 and $1.26, down 2% in the last 24 hours and 7% over the past week. The market sentiment, as indicated by the Fear & Greed Index, is at 23, signaling “Extreme Fear,” with momentum appearing weak.

Technical Analysis Points to Bearish Trend

From a technical standpoint, the 4-hour chart suggests a bearish trend. The 50-day moving average is declining, and the 200-day moving average has been on a downward trajectory since May. Key resistance levels are identified at $1.32, $1.36, and $1.38. Immediate support is found at $1.21, with a more significant floor at $1.18, the recent intraday low.

    Potential Scenarios for XRP

    Three scenarios are being considered:

    1. Defense of $1.21: If buyers successfully defend the $1.21 level, trading volume could decrease on further dips, potentially allowing XRP to climb back towards $1.27, its first significant resistance.
    2. Consolidation: The price could stabilize within the $1.20 to $1.24 range for the remainder of the week.
    3. Further Decline: A close below $1.18 would invalidate the current stabilization thesis and open the door for a more substantial price drop.

While the on-chain data, such as exchange outflows and slowing inflows, could eventually provide a tailwind, technical selling pressures have consistently overshadowed these signals this week.

    Exploring Alternative Investment Opportunities

The recent 7% weekly decline in XRP, reaching 15-week lows, prompts questions about where significant upside potential might lie. For investors looking to diversify away from large-cap cryptocurrencies during market downturns, early-stage infrastructure projects have historically attracted capital. One such project gaining attention is LiquidChain.

LiquidChain ($LIQUID) is a Layer 3 infrastructure protocol designed to act as a cross-chain liquidity layer, integrating liquidity from Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana into a unified execution environment. Its architecture is built on four core principles: a Unified Liquidity Layer, Single-Step Execution, Verifiable Settlement, and a Deploy-Once Architecture, enabling developers to access multiple ecosystems without the need for redeployment. The LiquidChain token is currently priced at $0.01466, and the project has raised $820,000 in its presale phase.

Cardano Foundation Partners with Brazilian Olympic Committee to Drive Sports Innovation

The Cardano Foundation has announced a significant partnership with the Brazilian Olympic Committee (COB) aimed at fostering innovation within local sports through the integration of emerging technologies. The collaboration seeks to leverage advancements in Artificial Intelligence (AI), blockchain, and the Internet of Things (IoT) to modernize sports management, enhance institutional transparency, and cultivate deeper engagement with athletes, coaches, and fans.

A Vision for the Future of Brazilian Sports

Emanuel Rego, Director General of the COB, emphasized that the initiative represents a forward-looking step for sports in Brazil. “Our goal with this partnership goes beyond technical modernization,” Rego stated. “We want to present, guide, and educate our community about the potential of blockchain technology, adopting the best global market practices. One of the COB’s commitments is to lead by example, using innovation to safeguard institutional integrity and build an even stronger relationship of trust with our athletes, federations, and society as a whole.”

The collaboration outlines a three-year roadmap with a focus on four key areas: identity and certification, fan engagement, equipment tracking, and governance and transparency. Initial pilot projects are slated for rollout in the coming months. Rafael Fraga, manager of the Cardano Foundation in Latin America, expressed enthusiasm for the venture, saying, “We couldn’t be more pleased to build this journey alongside the COB, Brazilian sport, and Brazil, and we are eager to share the next steps in this transformation.”

This agreement with the COB is considered a major milestone, particularly given Brazil’s strong performance in the Olympic Games and its significant adoption of cryptocurrency.

ADA’s Price Struggles Amidst Market Downturn

Despite the positive news surrounding the partnership, Cardano’s native token, ADA, has seen its value decline, mirroring a broader downturn in the cryptocurrency market. ADA recently fell to approximately $0.20, its lowest point since early 2021, before a slight rebound to the current $0.21, marking a 9% decrease over the past week.

Prominent analyst Ali Martinez had previously identified $0.247 as a critical level of historical support, warning that a breach of this level could lead to a significant price drop, potentially reaching $0.113 or even $0.051.

However, a potential bullish indicator for ADA lies in its exchange netflow. In recent weeks, investors have been observed moving their holdings from centralized exchanges to self-custody solutions, which could reduce immediate selling pressure on the token.

NY Crypto Regulator Partners with EU on Stablecoin Oversight

New York and EU Forge Transatlantic Stablecoin Oversight Pact

New York’s leading cryptocurrency regulator has established a transatlantic framework for comprehensive stablecoin rules, aligning its supervisory efforts with those of the European Union.

A 22-page memorandum of understanding, signed Tuesday by the New York Department of Financial Services (NYDFS) and the European Banking Authority (EBA), outlines procedures designed to facilitate the exchange of supervisory and confidential information concerning the $314 billion stablecoin sector.

The NYDFS stated that the agreement aims to enhance oversight, identify market trends and risks, and promote market integrity. The regulator, known for its stringent standards under the BitLicense regime, emphasized that the initiative’s scope is confined to actions undertaken by companies under its direct supervision.

This accord underscores not only the increasing ease with which stablecoins facilitate cross-border capital flows but also the blurring lines between regulatory agencies in different jurisdictions. It also addresses how these regulators will coordinate their responses in the event of a crisis.

In emergency situations, such as “serious operational or financial difficulties of supervised entities,” the NYDFS and EBA will endeavor to promptly alert each other to emerging issues and coordinate their respective responses. This commitment aims to prevent regulators from being caught unaware by problems originating across the Atlantic. Upon request, both authorities are committed to sharing information pertaining to civil or criminal investigations.

For instance, a stablecoin could experience a “depeg,” trading below the value of the currency it is intended to represent. In 2023, Circle’s dollar-pegged USDC stablecoin briefly fell to 87 cents after the company disclosed its exposure to the collapse of Silicon Valley Bank.

This coordination arrives as officials at the European Central Bank adopt a cautious stance. Last week, board member Isabel Schnabel warned that stablecoins are “subject to the risk of runs” and pose a threat to Europe’s monetary sovereignty and economic control.

“Today, virtually all stablecoins in circulation are denominated in dollars,” Schnabel noted at a conference in South Korea. “Other currencies are playing a negligible role.”

While the agreement between the NYDFS and EBA is not legally binding, NYDFS Acting Superintendent Kaitlin Asrow described international coordination as “essential for the digital asset space” in a statement, highlighting its importance for consumer and market protection.
