Samsung Invests $408 Million in South Korean Crypto Exchange

Samsung Affiliates Invest $408 Million in Crypto Exchange Upbit

Three Samsung affiliates have collectively acquired a 4% stake in Dunamu, the operator of South Korea’s leading cryptocurrency exchange Upbit, for approximately 612.8 billion won ($408 million). The move, announced on May 28, reflects the growing trend of South Korean financial institutions seeking strategic positions within the country’s most valuable digital asset company.

    Transaction Details

The shares will be purchased from a group of Kakao-affiliated funds, including Kakao Investment and Kakao Ventures, at a per-share price of roughly 439,250 won. This valuation implies Dunamu’s total corporate worth is approximately 15.3 trillion won, or roughly $11.1 billion, according to Wu Blockchain and the Korea Times. Samsung Securities will acquire a 2% stake, while Samsung SDS and Samsung Card will each take 1%. The transaction is scheduled to close on June 19, according to the Korea Times.

    Strategic Objectives of Each Affiliate

Each Samsung entity has a distinct operational agenda for the investment, according to the Korea Times. Samsung Securities plans to strengthen cooperation on token securities issuance, distribution, and virtual asset services. Samsung SDS, the group’s IT and cloud arm, intends to combine its artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and data management capabilities with Dunamu’s blockchain operational infrastructure. Samsung Card, the group’s payments unit, aims to build a digital asset payment ecosystem with Dunamu, potentially integrating with Monimo, Samsung Financial Networks’ unified financial platform, pending the introduction of won-based stablecoins in Korea. These objectives align with the pillars of South Korea’s Digital Asset Basic Act, expected to be finalized in 2026, according to the Korea Times.

    Broader Industry Context

Samsung’s $408 million investment comes as South Korea’s institutional financial sector increasingly focuses on Dunamu. Earlier this month, Hana Bank agreed to purchase a 6.55% stake for approximately 1 trillion won ($670 million), according to the Korea Times. Hanwha Investment and Securities has also increased its Dunamu holdings to 9.84%, committing an additional 597.8 billion won, making it one of Dunamu’s largest non-founding shareholders, according to Wu Blockchain. Dunamu reported a net profit of 708.8 billion won on revenues of 1.56 trillion won in fiscal 2025 and handles over 80% of South Korean virtual asset trading volume, according to the Korea Times.

A Samsung official told the Korea Times that the investment aims to strengthen each affiliate’s competitiveness in digital asset-related businesses. The official added that closer cooperation with Dunamu could help the companies secure leadership positions in Korea’s emerging digital asset market.

This development signifies a critical moment for the integration of the nascent sector with Korean corporate conglomerates. Samsung’s investment in a crypto exchange, even at 4%, carries significant symbolic weight, indicating that South Korea’s most powerful industrial dynasty now views digital asset infrastructure as a core component of its financial services strategy for the coming decade.

  • CFTC and Gemini Seek to Overturn $5 Million Settlement

CFTC and Gemini Seek to Overturn $5 Million Settlement

The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) and the crypto exchange Gemini jointly filed a motion on Thursday seeking to overturn a January 2025 consent order, which the regulator now claims “should not have been filed.”

    Background of the Case

This unusual about-face stems from a case initiated in June 2022, when the CFTC sued Gemini, alleging the exchange made false or misleading statements regarding Bitcoin futures contract manipulation risks. The exchange, founded by Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss, settled the charges in January 2025, agreeing to a $5 million civil penalty and a permanent injunction.

CFTC Acknowledges Weaknesses in Original Complaint

In Thursday’s filing, the CFTC acknowledged that the original complaint was largely based on a whistleblower’s account “known to be lacking in credibility,” and characterized the exchange as a “fraud victim.” The regulator stated there were “serious questions” about the strength of the evidence against Gemini, adding that personnel “improperly influenced the CFTC’s regulatory authority to create settlement leverage.”

    Leadership Changes Precede Reversal

The reversal follows changes in the regulator’s leadership. Michael Selig was appointed as CFTC Chair in December 2025, after the White House withdrew Brian Quintenz’s nomination in September. Quintenz, a former CFTC commissioner and the Trump administration’s original nominee for Chair, had suggested the Winklevoss twins opposed his nomination because he would not commit to a public position on the agency’s enforcement action against their exchange.

    Gemini’s Defense and Business Pivot

Gemini had vigorously contested the CFTC’s enforcement approach, filing a letter of complaint with the CFTC Inspector General in June 2025, alleging it was the victim of an abusive investigation and “lawfare.” The exchange maintained throughout the case that it was being unfairly pursued despite being a victim of the manipulation it had reported to regulators.

The regulatory reversal coincides with Gemini’s business pivot toward the emerging prediction market space, following sweeping layoffs and its exit from the UK, European, and Australian markets. The company’s Gemini Titan subsidiary was approved as a Designated Contract Market and launched its predictions marketplace in December 2025. In May 2026, Gemini Olympus received a DCO license from the CFTC to act as a clearinghouse for regulated derivatives trading, including prediction markets.

At the time of the layoffs, Gemini founders Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss outlined a thesis that “prediction markets will be as big or bigger than today’s capital markets,” a sector that the CFTC has aggressively pursued its right to regulate over that of state gaming authorities.

  • Grayscale Spotlights Hyperliquid’s Future

    Grayscale Spotlights Hyperliquid’s Future

On Tuesday, the Hyperliquid token (HYPE) reached a new all-time high of $65, briefly placing the cryptocurrency among the top ten by market capitalization and highlighting the platform’s ongoing momentum. Grayscale Research released a report on Wednesday analyzing the factors behind Hyperliquid’s success, its expansion beyond crypto trading, and what investors should consider moving forward.

    Hyperliquid Beyond Crypto Perps

In its report, Grayscale compared Hyperliquid’s scale and growth to the largest crypto derivatives platforms, citing increasing activity alongside its open interest and fees. The firm noted that Hyperliquid processed approximately $2.9 trillion in perpetual futures (perps) volume in 2025 and currently holds roughly $7 billion in open interest.

The asset manager also ranked Hyperliquid as the third or fourth-largest perpetual futures exchange by open interest, emphasizing that volume, open interest, fees, and market awareness have risen in tandem as the platform has expanded beyond crypto-native products to include a wider range of tradable assets.

A key theme in Grayscale’s analysis was that Hyperliquid has not limited its expansion to traditional crypto perps, instead adopting an open architecture approach to offer a broader range of products.

    HIP-3 And HIP-4’s Success

New functionality is introduced through Hyperliquid Improvement Proposals (HIPs), with third-party teams, rather than Hyperliquid’s original creators, building and deploying these products. Grayscale highlighted HIP-3 as a significant step in this direction. HIP-3 allows builders to launch new perpetual markets, including non-crypto assets like stocks, commodities, and index-based products.

Grayscale cited volume data to support this view. During the February silver price surge, silver HIP-3 perps reportedly reached over $4 billion in daily volume. On February 5, 2026, HIP-3 silver perp volume traded at approximately 1% of COMEX’s silver notional volume.

Building on this momentum, Grayscale pointed to HIP-4, which it described as extending the model to outcome markets—binary options that resemble prediction-market contracts.

4 Reasons Behind The Platform’s Growth

Alongside its product expansion, Grayscale identified several factors contributing to Hyperliquid’s success. The report emphasized product focus, arguing that Hyperliquid was built around the perpetuals trading use case rather than treating trading as one feature among many.

Grayscale believes this focus allowed the platform to prioritize what active traders value most: fast order entry, reliable execution, clear and readable positions, and a familiar exchange-style interface.

The firm also highlighted distribution, arguing that the builder-code and frontend approach incentivizes third parties to direct users to the same liquidity base, avoiding fragmentation across separate venues.

Grayscale added that the economics have already been significant, citing Phantom’s integration of Hyperliquid perps through builder codes, with Phantom earning roughly $19.7 million from routed trading fees.

Finally, Hyperliquid’s token distribution was structured to reward platform users rather than venture investors or pre-selected insiders, which Grayscale said helped foster a different type of early ownership.

    Key Risks For HYPE

Despite the positive growth narrative, Grayscale concluded by cautioning investors to consider both standard crypto risks and platform-specific concerns. It noted that HYPE’s annualized price volatility is about 80%, roughly 40 percentage points higher than Bitcoin.

It added that Hyperliquid’s growth potential partly depends on changes to United States financial services regulations that could broaden user access. Without these changes, Grayscale warned that the platform’s expansion may be limited primarily to other jurisdictions, potentially restricting its growth.

Nevertheless, the report’s concluding message was that if Hyperliquid continues to execute effectively, retains and grows its community, and benefits from regulatory developments that facilitate broader adoption, it could become a “financial services juggernaut.”

  • Wood Reaffirms $1.25 Million Bitcoin Forecast

Wood Reaffirms $1.25 Million Bitcoin Forecast

Wood Defends $1.25 Million Bitcoin Forecast

ARK Invest CEO Cathie Wood has reiterated her bullish outlook for Bitcoin, maintaining that the cryptocurrency could reach $1.25 million within five years. She attributes this optimistic projection to institutional allocation, Bitcoin’s potential as a digital store of value, and its inherent scarcity.

Speaking on Fox Business In Depth: The Crypto Campaign on May 26, Wood clarified that the $1.25 million target represents ARK’s most optimistic scenario, rather than its base case. The firm’s base case, she said, is closer to $750,000. Wood framed the more ambitious target as a result of several converging trends: younger investors viewing Bitcoin as a digital store of value, emerging-market users seeking protection from monetary instability, and asset allocators increasingly recognizing crypto as a distinct investment category.

“The biggest reason is institutional adoption,” Wood said. “This is a new asset class. It has very low correlation to other asset classes in terms of risks and returns. And so every asset allocator has a responsibility to examine it because it will increase risk-adjusted returns over time.”

    Institutional Adoption and Digital Gold

The argument for institutional allocation has long been central to ARK’s Bitcoin thesis. Wood views Bitcoin’s role as extending beyond speculative gains, describing it as a potential substitute for gold as wealth transfers across generations, with younger investors more likely to embrace a “digital store of value.” She also characterized Bitcoin as “an insurance policy,” particularly for emerging markets facing what she described as “fiscal and monetary neglect at best or corruption at worst.”

Wood also linked Bitcoin’s potential growth to the expanding stablecoin market. However, she does not foresee an immediate displacement of the dollar. Instead, she argued that stablecoins could strengthen dollar distribution globally because major dollar-backed tokens are largely supported by US Treasuries.

“Because of stablecoins, the dollar will also be strong,” Wood said. “So effectively stablecoins, so USDC, Circle’s stablecoin, and USDT, Tether’s stablecoin, they are backed primarily by US Treasuries. So to the extent they become successful around the world, we’re going to be effectively exporting dollars. And that should be dollar positive.”

    Regulatory Framework and Supply Dynamics

Wood also highlighted the shift in asset allocation toward Bitcoin and other crypto assets, citing their low correlation with traditional markets. She believes that regulation, specifically the GENIUS Act and potentially the CLARITY Act, could establish a framework that encourages greater institutional participation in the crypto market. She noted that the administration aims to complete the CLARITY Act by July 4, though she expressed uncertainty about the timeline.

“I think once we do, because the odds have gone up recently that it will be passed, that we will see much more of an institutional swoosh into the space,” Wood said.

The ARK founder also emphasized Bitcoin’s supply mechanics, contrasting them with gold. She noted that approximately 20 million Bitcoin have already been mined out of the 21 million supply cap, leaving only about 1 million more to be issued. In contrast, gold supply increases by roughly 1% per year, and could potentially increase further in response to recent price gains.

“Bitcoin is mathematically metered,” Wood said. “There will be no supply response. It’s just mathematically metered. And right now it’s increasing at 0.9% roughly per year, which is lower than gold’s long term. And in the next two years we’ll be down to 0.45% increase per year.”

    Bitcoin vs. Gold

Wood acknowledged the debate over Bitcoin’s performance relative to gold during periods of macro stress, when gold has at times rallied while Bitcoin sold off. However, she argued that the relationship between the two assets remains weak over longer periods, citing a correlation of 0.14 since 2019, when institutions began considering Bitcoin more seriously as an asset class. She also noted that gold has tended to lead Bitcoin in recent cycles, and argued that the two may now be changing places as Bitcoin builds momentum while gold weakens. In her view, a stronger dollar could become a mild headwind for gold, while Bitcoin’s institutional adoption story continues to develop separately.

At the time of reporting, Bitcoin was trading at $75,034.

  • HYPE ETF Shatters Crypto Debut Records, Attracts Institutional Investors

HYPE ETF Shatters Crypto Debut Records, Attracts Institutional Investors

HYPE Surges to New All-Time High, Driven by Record-Breaking ETF Debut

HYPE has surpassed $60, reaching a new all-time high amid a bullish environment that contrasts sharply with the broader market’s struggles with selling pressure and uncertainty. This breakout is significant, but data from Kairos Research reveals a development in the ETF market that places the current momentum in a historical context, amplifying the significance of the price action.

    Record-Setting ETF Inflows

The spot HYPE ETF has absorbed 1.04% of HYPE’s total market capitalization within its first ten trading days. This figure is particularly noteworthy when compared to other ETF launches. HYPE’s ETF has outperformed every spot crypto ETF launch on record, including the Bitcoin ETF, which was one of the most successful financial product launches in Wall Street history.

The data is measured on a new-issuer cohort basis, excluding legacy trust conversions like GBTC and ETHE to provide a more accurate comparison. The conclusion is clear: no spot crypto ETF has ever attracted institutional capital at the pace HYPE has generated in its first ten trading days. The all-time high above $60 reflects this demand, and the ETF data confirms it.

The Strongest Crypto ETF Debut in History

Kairos Research’s comparison highlights the following: HYPE absorbed 1.04% of its market cap in ten trading days, Bitcoin absorbed 0.59%, Ethereum absorbed 0.41%, and Solana absorbed 0.31%. HYPE outpaced every previous spot crypto ETF launch during the same debut window, including the Bitcoin product that attracted billions from major asset managers.

The significance extends beyond a statistical record. The ETF absorption rate, as a percentage of market cap, measures institutional appetite relative to the asset’s existing size. It normalizes for the difference in market capitalization between Bitcoin and HYPE, revealing how urgently institutions sought access to the asset once a regulated vehicle became available. HYPE’s performance indicates the most urgent demand on record, suggesting a significant number of institutional participants were specifically waiting for a compliant, brokerage-accessible vehicle.

For the broader institutionalization of crypto markets, the HYPE ETF debut is a pivotal data point. While Bitcoin and Ethereum demonstrated institutional demand for crypto ETFs, HYPE’s debut suggests that institutional interest is expanding beyond these legacy assets. Regulated capital is now willing to allocate to newer, utility-driven protocols when the necessary infrastructure exists. This expansion of institutional appetite beyond Bitcoin and Ethereum is what the 1.04% figure truly represents.

HYPE Enters Price Discovery as Momentum Accelerates

HYPE continues its breakout, pushing into new all-time highs above $60. The daily chart shows one of the strongest momentum structures currently visible in the crypto market. Price has surged aggressively from the April consolidation zone near $35, nearly doubling in value within weeks, while most major altcoins struggle below key resistance levels.

Technically, the structure remains decisively bullish. HYPE is trading well above all major moving averages, with the 50-day, 100-day, and 200-day averages aligned in a strong upward trend beneath the price, reflecting sustained momentum. The recent breakout above the previous resistance cluster near $52 triggered a sharp expansion in both price and volume, confirming strong market participation.

The chart also highlights that each corrective phase since March has produced higher lows, reinforcing the broader bullish trend. Buyers have consistently defended pullbacks before new momentum legs emerged, a behavior typical of assets undergoing strong institutional and speculative accumulation. Volume surged significantly during the latest breakout phase, signaling renewed demand as HYPE entered price discovery territory with limited historical resistance. As long as the price holds above the previous breakout region near $52–$55, momentum remains firmly in control of bulls. However, the speed of the rally also increases the probability of short-term volatility spikes and profit-taking.

  • Texas Crypto Candidates: All Six Supported Win.

Texas Crypto Candidates: All Six Supported Win.

Political Action Committees (PACs) aligned with the cryptocurrency industry achieved further successes in Texas, solidifying the sector’s growing influence in U.S. politics, particularly under a more favorable administration. According to reporting by Eleanor Terret of Crypto In America, the crypto industry-backed candidates won all six races in the Texas primary runoffs held Tuesday night.

    Anti-Crypto Sentiment Suffers Setback

A significant outcome emerged from the Democratic primary runoff in Texas’ 18th Congressional District. Terret reported that Representative Christian Menefee defeated incumbent Representative Al Green, who had held the seat for 20 years. Fairshake, the industry’s leading super PAC, claimed credit for the victory after spending approximately $6.5 million on the race, primarily through advertisements supporting Menefee.

Geoff Vetter, a Fairshake spokesperson, argued that Green’s loss demonstrated the potential electoral consequences of opposing cryptocurrency, noting that Green was the first Democratic incumbent to lose their seat this cycle. Vetter added that Fairshake would continue to “aggressively back” leaders like Menefee.

    Further Victories for Crypto-Aligned Candidates

Elsewhere in Texas, several other races favored by crypto-aligned groups also resulted in wins. Candidates Alex Mealer, Tom Sell, John Bonck, and Carlos De La Cruz all secured victories in their respective runoffs. Fairshake reportedly spent roughly $1.8 million supporting these candidates.

Crypto-related efforts also played a role in some Republican outcomes. Attorney General Ken Paxton’s unexpected victory over Senator John Cornyn in the Republican Senate primary runoff reportedly received support from crypto-aligned funding.

    California Primary Next Target

With the Texas primaries concluded, Terret reported that crypto political groups are already shifting their focus to upcoming elections. Maryland appears to be the next target for Fairshake. State lawmaker Adrian Boafo is running in the June Democratic primary for the state’s 5th Congressional District, and Fairshake has already spent about $2.12 million supporting his campaign.

The industry is also expected to concentrate on California’s top-two primary in the state’s 32nd Congressional District next week. In that race, Representative Brad Sherman, a long-time critic of cryptocurrency, is competing against Jake Levine, a former Biden White House official, as both seek to advance to November’s general election.

  • XRP Could Surge to $100, Reshaping Market Cap Discussions

XRP Could Surge to $100, Reshaping Market Cap Discussions

XRP’s potential to reach $100 is sparking debate among analysts, particularly regarding the applicability of traditional market capitalization models. One expert posits that if XRP becomes widely adopted for payments and settlements, its role will evolve into that of financial infrastructure. Consequently, the cryptocurrency’s value would be determined more by network usage and transaction volume than by market capitalization alone.

XRP at $100 Could Happen Without a High Market Cap

In a May 24th post on X, crypto market expert Gina argued that XRP’s value should not be assessed using conventional market capitalization models. She contends that the token is designed to serve as global financial infrastructure, not a passive store of value. According to Gina, XRP’s true strength lies not in its price or total valuation, but in its frequency of use for cross-network money transfers.

To illustrate her point, Gina presented a hypothetical scenario where XRP trades at $100 with a circulating supply of 50 billion tokens. This would result in a market capitalization of approximately $5 trillion, exceeding that of Bitcoin and Ethereum. However, Gina argued that market cap alone does not fully represent the total value processed daily by the XRP Ledger (XRPL). She emphasized XRP’s liquidity velocity, suggesting that if each XRP token were reused approximately 1,000 times daily for cross-border settlements, the network could theoretically support up to $5 quadrillion in daily transaction flows without requiring a higher market cap.

Based on this concept, XRP’s value as a payment and settlement tool could significantly surpass what market capitalization alone suggests. A $5 trillion market cap, she explained, only reflects the total paper value of XRP at a given price and does not indicate the actual amount of money a network can process or move through repeated transactions, which Gina believes is the true measure of XRP’s value.

Comparing XRP Market Cap Argument With SWIFT

In her post, Gina drew a comparison between XRP and the Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication (SWIFT), the global banking messaging network. She noted that SWIFT, unlike cryptocurrencies, does not have a market capitalization because it is not an investment asset, yet trillions of dollars move through its system daily.

Gina suggested that XRP could function similarly, serving as a bridge asset to facilitate rapid transaction settlements across different currencies and tokenized financial products for institutions. She stressed that XRP should not be categorized alongside assets like gold or Bitcoin, which are often considered long-term stores of value. Instead, she described XRP as infrastructure for a future tokenized economy.

Under this framework, Gina argued that traditional market cap calculations become less relevant, as utility-driven networks are measured by usage and throughput. She further claimed that if XRP were used to power even a small portion of the global derivatives markets or institutional settlement systems, the market cap valuation model would become obsolete.

  • Falcon Finance, Anchorage Launch fUSD Stablecoin with Ceffu Rewards

Falcon Finance, Anchorage Launch fUSD Stablecoin with Ceffu Rewards

Falcon Finance and Anchorage Digital Bank Launch fUSD

GEORGE TOWN, CAYMAN ISLANDS, May 27th, 2026 – Falcon Finance and Anchorage Digital Bank, N.A. today announced the launch of fUSD, a U.S. dollar payment stablecoin designed to meet institutional compliance mandates while offering rewards to qualifying holders. The stablecoin will launch on Ceffu’s institutional custody and collateral infrastructure.

With over $320 billion in dollar stablecoins currently in circulation, and short-dated Treasury yields near 4%, holders collectively forgo over $10 billion annually in potential returns. fUSD aims to address this by sharing a portion of its reserve economics with eligible holders.

fUSD is built to be GENIUS Act ready, the federal framework for payment stablecoins enacted on July 18, 2025. The GENIUS Act restricts stablecoin issuers from paying interest or yield to holders. While Anchorage Digital Bank issues fUSD, it does not pay yield or rewards on the stablecoin itself. Instead, rewards are offered by a separate entity and are tied to the stablecoin’s underlying collateral, such as U.S. Treasuries. Falcon Finance, as the name partner, will operate an institutional rewards program, targeting approximately 3% per year. These rewards are exclusively available to institutional entities that enter a contractual agreement with Falcon.

Falcon Finance, which has a synthetic dollar protocol with $1.63 billion in USDf circulating supply and is ranked among the top ten stablecoins on Ethereum by market cap, will be a launch holder of fUSD, deploying a portion of its corporate reserves into the stablecoin.

    Institutional Focus

fUSD is supported by Ceffu’s institutional custody and collateral infrastructure, which is also used by leading trading firms and liquidity providers, including FalconX, Presto, and Orderly. By launching fUSD on Ceffu, Falcon Finance aims to provide a regulated, rewards-bearing dollar for professional desks, treasury desks, high-frequency trading firms, and counterparties operating under strict compliance mandates.

Andrei Grachev, Founding Partner of Falcon Finance, stated that fUSD addresses the needs of desks operating under compliance mandates that synthetic and offshore stablecoins were not designed to satisfy. He added that the regulated dollars available today offer no returns, and fUSD closes both gaps.

Nathan McCauley, CEO and Co-Founder of Anchorage Digital, emphasized that fUSD is built for institutional use, made possible by their federal bank charter.

Ian Loh, CEO of Ceffu, highlighted the value of integrating fUSD into Ceffu’s ecosystem, providing institutional-grade custody and collateral utility.

    Complementary Products

Falcon Finance now offers two complementary dollar products. USDf, the overcollateralized synthetic dollar, continues to serve DeFi-native users and multi-collateral mandates. fUSD extends Falcon’s reach to federally-regulated treasury desks, compliance-constrained counterparties, and institutional collateral mandates that require a regulated, non-synthetic dollar.

    About Falcon Finance

Falcon Finance is developing a universal collateral layer that converts any liquid asset, including digital assets, currency-backed tokens, and tokenized real-world assets, into USD-pegged onchain liquidity. By bridging onchain and offchain financial systems, Falcon enables institutions, protocols, and capital allocators to unlock stable, yield-generating liquidity from their existing assets.

  • Hyperliquid Hits New High, Eyes Ethereum’s Spot

Hyperliquid Hits New High, Eyes Ethereum’s Spot

Hyperliquid (HYPE) recently entered the top 10 cryptocurrencies by market capitalization, joining the ranks of Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH), after its price surpassed $50 and reached a new all-time high. On-chain analytics platforms are now examining HYPE’s potential price if it surpasses Ethereum’s market cap.

Hyperliquid’s Potential Price if It Surpasses Ethereum’s Market Cap

Hyperliquid’s price surged past $50 a few days ago, surpassing Dogecoin to become the ninth-largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization. This marks the first time the token has traded above this level since late October 2025.

Currently, HYPE has extended its rally beyond $60. This breakout reflects a significant shift in trading activity, as well as renewed interest and confidence in DeFi protocols and AI-backed tokens. HYPE’s return to this historic price range also suggests increased engagement with Hyperliquid’s perpetual futures DEX.

The recent rally in HYPE has drawn renewed attention to Ethereum, one of Hyperliquid’s primary competitors in the crypto and DeFi space. While Ethereum remains a dominant benchmark for decentralized applications, Hyperliquid is specifically designed for financial trading and derivatives.

Data from Marketcapof suggests that HYPE’s price could reach approximately $1,127 if its market capitalization of $15.99 billion surpasses Ethereum’s, which is around $250.99 billion. This would represent a 17.92x increase from current levels. In more extreme scenarios, with market euphoria at its peak, estimates place HYPE as high as $2,633, a gain of about 42x from current prices.

    Competition Intensifies

Hyperliquid has been strengthening its market position as capital shifts from major assets like Bitcoin and Ethereum toward newer, high-growth protocols. HYPE’s recent performance reflects both the growing adoption of its DEX platform and a broader shift in liquidity across the crypto sector.

A key driver behind the bullish momentum was the launch of spot HYPE ETFs by investment management firms Bitwise and 21Shares in May. These products have attracted millions of dollars in inflows, indicating steady institutional demand for HYPE amid increased derivatives activity.

Earlier in the year, market volatility linked to the US-Iran war triggered record perpetual futures volume on Hyperliquid, pushing platform activity to new highs. Liquidity conditions also improved after Coinbase, the world’s largest crypto exchange, became the official USDC provider on Hyperliquid.

Against this backdrop, Ethereum’s dominance is waning. The cryptocurrency’s price has struggled to maintain momentum, falling roughly 30% year-to-date. ETF flow data reflects this shift, with approximately $1 billion exiting Bitcoin and Ethereum products while XRP and HYPE funds recorded about $94 million in combined inflows.

  • Dogecoin’s Key Pattern Returns, Echoing 2021 Surge

Dogecoin’s Key Pattern Returns, Echoing 2021 Surge

Dogecoin Rally Setup Revived Amidst Technical Analysis

Dogecoin has been trading around the $0.10 mark for several months. However, a new monthly chart shared by market analyst @TATrader_Alan is drawing comparisons to the pattern that preceded the cryptocurrency’s significant rally in 2021. The analyst highlights a recurring triangle formation that has appeared before each major Dogecoin expansion cycle. The current setup is now approaching the same breakout zone that historically triggered substantial upward momentum.

    Dogecoin Rally Setup Reappears

The analyst’s latest monthly chart reveals a repeating formation observed across three distinct market cycles. In each instance, Dogecoin traded within a narrowing triangle structure for months before experiencing a sharp, vertical advance. The first instance occurred before the 2017 bull market, while the second preceded the massive 2021 breakout, which delivered gains exceeding 30,000% from cycle lows.

The chart shows that both previous formations followed nearly identical patterns. Price gradually compressed between descending resistance and rising support lines before eventually breaking upward with force. Following the breakout, Dogecoin entered a rapid expansion phase characterized by large green monthly candles and increased momentum.

The current structure appears to mirror those earlier conditions closely. Dogecoin has spent several years tightening within converging trendlines, with the price now positioned near the formation’s apex. According to the chart projection, this region historically marked the beginning of Dogecoin’s most significant advances.

The pattern’s long-term timeframe is notable. Monthly structures often carry greater technical significance because they reflect broader investor positioning and multi-year market behavior rather than short-term volatility. Analysts tracking the setup believe the extended compression phase could amplify the intensity of any eventual breakout move if historical behavior repeats.

    Monthly Breakout Signals Growing Momentum

The formation’s timing is also attracting attention because Dogecoin continues to hold near the psychologically important $0.10 level on the monthly chart. Despite broader market fluctuations, the asset has maintained support around that range while gradually pressing against descending resistance that has capped price action since the previous cycle peak.

The analyst’s projection suggests the breakout zone has now been reached, mirroring the positioning seen before earlier rallies. On the chart, projected purple candles indicate a possible expansion phase that could push Dogecoin toward levels not seen since the previous bull market’s peak.

Beyond the technical structure, market participants are also watching growing institutional involvement in the digital asset sector. Speculation surrounding crypto-based exchange-traded products, renewed meme coin activity, and increased retail participation have all contributed to improving sentiment around Dogecoin in recent months.
