Italian Bank’s XRP Investment: Size Unclear

XRP Gains Attention Amid Reports of Italian Banking Group Exposure

XRP is drawing renewed attention following reports of exposure from Italy’s largest banking group, Intesa Sanpaolo. The disclosure, highlighted by crypto analyst @Xfinancebull on X, reveals a position tied to the Grayscale XRP Trust, prompting market-wide assessment of the holding’s scale and implications.

    $18 Million Position Makes Waves

According to recent reports, Intesa Sanpaolo, a financial institution managing approximately $1.1 trillion in assets, significantly expanded its cryptocurrency exposure between late 2025 and the first quarter of 2026. Verified figures indicate that the institution’s crypto-related holdings increased from roughly $100 million in the fourth quarter of 2025 to nearly $235 million by the end of March 2026. This expansion included a newly established position linked to XRP through the Grayscale XRP Trust.

As of March 31, the bank held 712,319 shares of the Grayscale XRP Trust, a position valued at around $18 million. This marks it as one of the most notable institutional allocations disclosed by a major European bank this year. The exposure was not obtained through direct purchases of tokens on exchanges. Instead, the bank gained access through Grayscale’s investment trust product, which allows institutions to participate in XRP-related investments via regulated financial vehicles. This distinction is significant, as many traditional financial institutions still favor regulated exposure routes over direct on-chain crypto asset holdings.

The move immediately garnered attention, particularly as it occurred during a period of market uncertainty regarding short-term price direction. @Xfinancebull cited the development as evidence of large institutions continuing to position themselves despite ongoing volatility in the broader crypto market.

XRP Is Part of a Broader Crypto Strategy

The XRP allocation was only one component of a larger crypto expansion strategy unveiled during the quarter. Alongside the new XRP position, Intesa Sanpaolo also increased its Bitcoin exposure and added Ethereum-related investments for the first time. The bank reportedly gained Ethereum exposure through purchases linked to the iShares Staked Ethereum Trust. Simultaneously, its Bitcoin holdings grew significantly through several ETF-related products, including the ARK 21Shares Bitcoin ETF and the iShares Bitcoin Trust ETF.

Interestingly, while exposure to Bitcoin, Ethereum, and XRP increased, the institution sharply reduced its position connected to Solana. Holdings tied to the Bitwise Solana Staking ETF reportedly fell from over 266,000 shares at the end of 2025 to just 2,817 shares by March 2026. Rather than taking small experimental positions, the bank appears to be actively restructuring its crypto exposure across multiple major digital assets.

For XRP supporters, the $18 million position is notable because it represents participation from one of Europe’s largest financial institutions. Although the investment remains relatively small compared to the bank’s overall asset base, the move adds to growing evidence that traditional financial players are increasingly willing to gain exposure to XRP-related products as the digital asset sector continues to evolve.

Micron Veteran Eyes Dogecoin as ETF Flows Continue Upward

Dogecoin is experiencing a more than 6% decline today, but a Wall Street figure is closely monitoring the cryptocurrency as its exchange-traded funds (ETFs) continue to see inflows. In a discussion with Anthony Pompliano, Jordi Visser, a former Micron executive who achieved an eightfold return on MU before exiting all AI-sector positions, stated that Dogecoin’s chart is “on the verge of a breakout.”

    Visser’s Thesis

Visser’s analysis centers on negative real interest rates, persistent inflation, and the Federal Reserve’s $1.2 trillion in annual interest expenses, which are driving capital into hard assets. He believes Dogecoin serves as an early warning indicator of retail investor participation. Pompliano described DOGE as an “alarm system” because it remains “the most pure play non-institutional asset that has size and liquidity in crypto.” Visser’s response was concise: “I don’t even need to say anything else.”

    ETF Inflows

Spot Dogecoin ETFs have recorded net inflows on four of the last eight trading days, bringing the total net inflows in May to approximately $1.3 million. These inflows follow extended periods of zero net flows.

    Technical Analysis

Dogecoin is at a critical juncture. Immediate resistance is at $0.11, where the Relative Strength Index (RSI) is between 45 and 62, approaching overbought territory. A sustained daily close above that level, especially with accelerating ETF inflows, is considered the “concrete trigger” for further gains.

The 200-day moving average at $0.125 presents a more significant test. Successfully reclaiming and holding this level could lead to a target of $0.150 by the end of 2026.

On the downside, the 100-day exponential moving average (EMA) at $0.10 acts as the primary support. A break below this level would invalidate the current breakout structure and likely lead to a consolidation range.

Institutional demand is increasing, albeit not yet at a large scale. An inflow of $460,000 into Grayscale’s GDOG ETF on April 30 ended a 72-day consolidation and pushed the price toward current levels.

Since their launch, DOGE spot ETFs have seen net inflows on four of the last eight trading days, with $1.3 million entering in May. The 149 largest DOGE wallets now hold 108.52 billion DOGE, valued at $11.6 billion, with 739 transactions exceeding $100,000 recorded in a single day late last month.

Dogecoin needs to close above $0.11, with sustained ETF flows, for Visser’s retail rotation thesis to drive a move toward $0.125.

    Alternative Investment

Dogecoin trading above 10 cents presents a different scenario than in 2021. The asymmetry has decreased. Traders seeking exposure to the same retail-driven rotation are looking at alternative investments.

Maxi Doge ($MAXI), a meme token built on Ethereum, aims to capture the high-conviction, high-leverage energy of the DOGE community in a presale-stage asset. The project has raised over $4.7 million at a current price of $0.0002819, with dynamic staking annual percentage yield (APY) available to early holders.

The project offers holder-only trading competitions with leaderboard rewards, a Maxi Fund treasury for liquidity and partnerships, and a meme-focused marketing strategy designed to generate viral retail attention.

ChatGPT Predicts Surprising XRP Price by 2026

    XRP Price Prediction

XRP holders have been observing the same price range, between $1.20 and $1.60, for months. However, according to an analysis by Sam Altman’s ChatGPT AI, the cryptocurrency could see significant gains, with a prediction that makes the current range appear to be a launchpad. The AI forecasts a price between $4 and $8 by the end of 2026, with a potential speculative cycle high reaching $10.

ChatGPT’s framework is based on the idea that real-world utility is finally coinciding with institutional capital. The AI argues that regulatory clarity is now a reality, and the market has not fully reflected its implications. Spot ETF inflows are increasing institutional demand. Simultaneously, XRP is gaining traction in cross-border payments, tokenization infrastructure, and liquidity corridors, indicating that its utility is not limited to a single, vulnerable use case.

ChatGPT identifies the convergence of these three factors as the primary driver, suggesting that the 2x to 4x upside is credible, given Ripple’s current enterprise pipeline.

    Bear Case Scenario

The AI also presents a realistic bear case. If adoption growth falters, institutional demand disappoints, or macroeconomic and supply pressures negatively impact performance, ChatGPT anticipates XRP trading between $1 and $2.50, functioning more as a stable infrastructure play rather than a major outperformer. This scenario is described as a slow decline, which could be more frustrating for long-term holders.

The AI emphasizes that XRP remains one of the strongest large-cap altcoins, but the upper price targets depend on execution aligning with expectations.

    Technical Analysis

Currently, XRP is trading at $1.3825. The daily chart outlines the bullish scenario, with four key levels: support at $1.20, resistance at $1.60, and targets at $2.40, $3.10, and $3.64. Each level must be surpassed before the next is reached.

The immediate challenge is that the price has retreated from a recent push to $1.50 and is now near the support level. With the Relative Strength Index (RSI) cooling off, the next few daily closes are crucial.

The $1.60 resistance level has defined the ceiling of the recovery phase since February. A break above this level would open the path to $2.40, followed by consolidation and a move towards $3.10 and $3.64, which is within ChatGPT’s predicted $4 to $8 range.

ChatGPT’s $4 to $8 prediction hinges on the chart holding the $1.20 support level.

    Bitcoin Hyper

Large-cap upside is becoming harder to find. Bitcoin’s potential gains from its current position are limited. This dynamic is pushing risk-tolerant capital towards earlier investment opportunities.

Bitcoin Hyper is designed for this type of rotation. The project is developing a Bitcoin Layer 2 using the Solana Virtual Machine, enabling developers to access smart contract functionality and near-zero fees while maintaining Bitcoin’s security. This addresses a long-standing need, as no other major blockchain has successfully implemented high-speed programmability on top of Bitcoin.

The presale is priced at $0.013679, with over $32 million raised and staking incentives available for early participants.

The risks associated with this early-stage project include unproven execution, unknown post-launch liquidity, and the fact that adoption is not guaranteed by good infrastructure. However, the entry point offers access to upside that institutional capital cannot currently access at Bitcoin’s market capitalization. This presents a trade-off: higher potential rewards but also higher risk, with a limited window of opportunity.

Hyperliquid’s HYPE Token Gains Amid Market Downturn

While major cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, Ethereum, and XRP experience losses, Hyperliquid’s HYPE token is bucking the trend, trading above $45 and showing a gain of over 6%. Simultaneously, the full-leverage meme presale, Maxi Doge, is nearing its $5 million fundraising milestone.

    Factors Driving HYPE’s Performance

Coinbase’s listing roadmap announcement has boosted optimism for HYPE. Speculation surrounding HYPE-linked ETFs and ETPs, such as those from Bitwise, has also increased institutional interest. Furthermore, Hyperliquid implemented a deflationary mechanism last month by burning 43.4 million HYPE tokens, valued at $1.96 billion.

    Market Dynamics and Technical Analysis

Currently, all protocol fees are allocated to buybacks, resulting in an estimated net daily supply reduction of 16,484 tokens. Arthur Hayes has set a public target of $150 for HYPE by August 2026, citing the token’s dominance in on-chain perpetuals. HYPE currently holds a 44% market share in on-chain perpetuals, which helps insulate it from the volatility affecting larger cryptocurrencies.

Technically, HYPE is trading within an ascending parallel channel, rebounding from a support level near $39 before surpassing $45. The 24-hour trading range was between $41 and $47, with a volume exceeding $600 million. The 20-day Exponential Moving Average (EMA) is at $42, and the 50-day EMA is at $40, both below the current price, indicating a bullish trend. The Relative Strength Index (RSI) is at a neutral 55. However, the price is currently above the upper Bollinger Band, suggesting a potential short-term overextension. Key resistance is at $47; a confirmed close above this level could lead to a rise towards $50, with the all-time high of $60 representing a potential 27% increase from current levels.

    Maxi Doge Presale

While HYPE, with an $11 billion market cap, requires significant new capital for substantial gains, early-stage opportunities like Maxi Doge offer different potential.

Maxi Doge is an ERC-20 meme token centered around a 240-lb canine, embodying a 1000x leverage trading culture. The token combines gym-bro humor with on-chain mechanics. The presale has raised $4.7 million at a current price of $0.0002819. Staking is live with a dynamic Annual Percentage Yield (APY). Features include holder-only trading competitions with leaderboard rewards, a Maxi Fund treasury for liquidity and partnerships, and meme-focused marketing.

The token’s leverage-focused identity mirrors the trader psychology driving HYPE’s derivatives dominance, emphasizing competition and on-chain trading culture.

  • Ripple CTO Supports John Deaton’s Senate Run with XRP Donation

Ripple CTO Supports John Deaton’s Senate Run with XRP Donation

Ripple CTO Supports Senate Bid with XRP Donation

In the latest development in the XRP community, Ripple’s Chief Technology Officer, David Schwartz, has made a personal financial contribution in XRP to John Deaton’s Senate campaign. This move publicly confirms Schwartz’s support for the pro-crypto lawyer, who gained national prominence for defending XRP holders during the SEC v. Ripple lawsuit.

The donation positions Schwartz as one of the most senior crypto executives to directly back Deaton’s political bid using the very asset at the center of that regulatory fight.

The contribution is a bullish signal for crypto-aligned political momentum. When a principal architect of the XRP Ledger supports a Senate candidate with his own tokens, the symbolic weight amplifies the financial one.

    Donation Details and Significance

Schwartz’s contribution is a personal donation, distinct from a disbursement from a corporate super PAC. Ripple, the company, has already pledged $25 million to the pro-crypto super PAC Fairshake, which operates independently of any candidate campaign and can raise and spend unlimited funds.

A personal contribution to a federal campaign is subject to FEC individual donor limits and must be reported by the campaign. The value is recorded in USD at the time of receipt, meaning the XRP is converted to a dollar figure on the books, even if received as a digital asset.

This compliance structure is significant. Schwartz is not routing money through an intermediary. He is directly associating his name, title, and preferred asset with Deaton’s campaign in the public record. For the XRP community, which closely followed the SEC litigation, this personal identification carries more weight than a line item in a PAC disclosure.

    Political Context and Implications

Deaton’s campaign has emphasized small-donor and community-driven optics, contrasting with industry-heavy PAC infrastructure. Schwartz’s XRP donation aligns with both narratives: it is personal and community-focused, while also coming from a figure whose technical decisions shape a multi-billion dollar asset class. This combination is difficult to dismiss as either grassroots noise or pure corporate influence.

The political target is Senator Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts, a vocal critic of the crypto industry and a key figure in what supporters of the sector have labeled the “anti-crypto army” in the Senate.

Warren’s regulatory pressure has been a direct factor in the broader legislative battles over digital asset frameworks currently moving through Congress. A competitive Senate race in Massachusetts puts that pressure point on the electoral map.

  • Analyst: XRP Could Be “Trade of a Lifetime”

Analyst: XRP Could Be “Trade of a Lifetime”

    XRP’s Defining Market Setup

Crypto analyst Will Taylor, founder of CryptoinsightUK, believes XRP may be approaching a crucial market setup, driven by regulatory clarity in the US, Ripple’s infrastructure development, and broader macroeconomic liquidity pressures. In the Week 195 edition of The Weekly Insight, Taylor argued that the market may be underestimating the significance of recent progress on the Clarity Act, particularly for assets tied to institutional settlement and financial infrastructure. The newsletter positioned XRP as a prime example of this thesis, while emphasizing that the views expressed are personal opinions and not financial advice.

XRP Thesis Centers on Regulation and Ripple

Taylor’s analysis of XRP is based on the premise that if US crypto legislation removes the regulatory uncertainty that has kept institutions cautious, the market will have to reassess whether Ripple’s long-term utility thesis can be tested at scale. “If we look specifically at XRP, I genuinely believe that Ripple has spent years building a full stack financial solution,” Taylor wrote. “That includes a prime brokerage, a stablecoin company, a stablecoin itself, custody infrastructure, clearing solutions, treasury integrations, and systems designed to move and settle value on the XRP ledger, while also holding a significant amount of XRP themselves.”

The analyst acknowledged the common criticism that Ripple has used XRP sales to fund related businesses. However, he argued that clearer legislation would force a more decisive market verdict. “At that point, the excuse that institutions cannot engage because of unclear regulation disappears,” Taylor wrote. “The legislation will be there, the infrastructure will be there, and then we finally get to see whether utility is real or whether it was all just speculation.”

Taylor connected the XRP setup to broader developments in Washington, stating that the Clarity Act’s passage through the Senate Banking Committee increased the likelihood that crypto market structure legislation could eventually become law. The bill still requires broader congressional approval and a presidential signature, according to the newsletter. “This is why we are here. This is why many of us got involved in the first place,” he wrote. “If this legislation gets through, I think it fundamentally changes how the world views crypto. We go from pure speculation about utility to actually beginning to see integration happen in real time.” He added that markets often reprice before utility fully arrives, based on the expectation that integration is coming. In XRP’s case, that would mean price may begin reacting before any large-scale institutional use becomes visible on-chain.

Taylor also highlighted XRP liquidity conditions, noting that liquidity continues to build above current price levels on the daily timeframe. In his view, this suggests more short positions are entering the market, potentially creating “additional fuel” if the price begins to rise.

Macro Backdrop Adds to the Setup

The XRP argument was presented within a wider macroeconomic framework. Taylor noted that the week had been significant for risk assets, citing positive rhetoric from a meeting between Donald Trump and Xi Jinping in China, progress on crypto legislation, and the confirmation process for Kevin Warsh.

At the same time, he cautioned that global bond market pressure remains a key risk. The US 10-year yield was described as being around 4.5%, while U.K. gilts had reached their highest levels since 2007. Taylor said markets appear divided between a bullish camp expecting policy support and a bearish camp expecting a larger financial event. His own view leans toward intervention. He suggested policymakers may attempt to stabilize bond markets through liquidity measures, reassurance, or a new backstop mechanism, rather than allow systemic stress to accelerate.

For crypto, Taylor sees this as potentially beneficial. If policymakers extend the cycle and support risk assets while crypto regulation advances, assets with institutional narratives could benefit most. Taylor believes there is a scenario where $10 trillion to $100 trillion moves on-chain over the next five to ten years, with supply illiquidity potentially amplifying price effects as assets become harder to accumulate. “But now we are reaching the stage where many of the things people speculated about for years are potentially starting to become reality,” Taylor wrote. “And the next phase from here is finding out whether the investment thesis was actually correct.”

At the time of publication, XRP was trading at $1.38.
