Solana, Toss Bank Ink Remittance Deal

Solana Foundation and Toss Bank Forge Partnership to Enhance Global Remittance

The Solana Foundation has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Toss Bank, marking a significant first for the South Korean internet-only bank and the Solana ecosystem. This collaboration is strategically positioned within the broader technology narrative of Toss Bank’s parent company, Viva Republica, as it prepares for an initial public offering (IPO).

The announcement saw Solana’s native token, SOL, trading at $74, with a reported 8% increase in trading volume over a 24-hour period. However, concurrent developments concerning peace talks between the United States and Iran may complicate the precise attribution of this trading volume solely to the MOU.

Toss Bank, which serves 15 million customers in South Korea and operates as the country’s third-largest digital bank, is slated to utilize Solana for a proof of concept (PoC) focused on global remittance and settlement. This initiative promises to offer Toss Bank’s extensive customer base faster and more cost-effective global digital finance solutions powered by Solana. The bank’s existing overseas remittance service already extends to 30 countries and covers seven major currencies, providing the Solana-based PoC with a substantial existing user base from its inception.

    Key Areas of Collaboration

The MOU outlines four primary areas of cooperation:

    • Global Remittance and Settlement PoC: Development of a proof of concept for global remittance and settlement infrastructure built on the Solana blockchain.
    • Joint Research: Collaborative research into blockchain-based payment and settlement models.
    • Digital Asset Exploration: Exploration of financial services involving stablecoins and other digital assets.
    • Long-Term Cooperation: Establishment of a framework for future collaboration, including integration with overseas banking partners and adherence to Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Know Your Customer (KYC) compliance systems.

The immediate focus of this partnership is the PoC, with all subsequent developments contingent on its outcomes.

Jin-hyun Park, Head of Strategy at Toss Bank, stated that the partnership will initiate “a phased pilot within the innovative services already provided by Toss Bank,” with the explicit aim of delivering “quicker and more economical global digital finance through Solana” to its 15 million customers. This framing emphasizes an upgrade to existing services rather than a speculative venture into cryptocurrency.

Solana’s technical capabilities, including sub-second transaction finality and minimal transaction fees, present a compelling case for high-volume cross-border settlement, offering a competitive alternative to traditional correspondent banking costs. The roadmap for tokenization is expected to follow, dependent on the PoC’s results and regulatory approvals.

Strategic Alignment with Viva Republica’s IPO

This collaboration is part of a broader strategy by the Solana Foundation to build institutional infrastructure within South Korea. Previously, the foundation signed an MOU with local firm Wavebridge to develop a KRW-pegged stablecoin designed for institutional applications, featuring on-chain settlement and tokenized deposit functionalities. The Toss Bank partnership integrates seamlessly into this wider Korean market strategy.

Viva Republica, the parent company of Toss Bank and the broader Toss super-app ecosystem, is reportedly targeting a US IPO in 2026 with a valuation projected to exceed $10 billion. The company has secured over $1.2 billion in funding from investors such as GIC, Sequoia China, and Kleiner Perkins, and has bolstered Toss Bank’s capital to approximately 1.4 trillion won (around $1 billion) to support its growth and readiness for listing.

The Solana MOU serves a dual purpose in Viva Republica’s IPO narrative. Firstly, it positions the company as a cross-border payments platform targeting the vast global payments market, rather than solely a domestic neobank, which typically commands lower valuations on US exchanges. Secondly, by emphasizing a compliance-first architecture with AML/KYC integration and a regulated stablecoin framework, Toss Bank aligns itself with regulated innovators, a distinction that appeals to institutional investors. Furthermore, the adoption of blockchain settlement rails is expected to reduce the marginal cost per remittance transaction, supporting the margin expansion narrative crucial for pre-IPO companies.

    Regulatory Landscape and Future Outlook

The regulatory environment in South Korea adds a layer of urgency to these developments. With plans to implement foreign exchange controls on crypto transfers starting December 2026, Toss Bank’s proactive approach, utilizing a licensed and compliance-integrated framework, positions it favorably ahead of these regulatory changes. The Bank of Korea’s ongoing pilots for wholesale CBDCs and tokenized deposits provide a policy backdrop that supports the political viability of bank-grade stablecoin remittance products.

While this partnership represents a significant strategic move, the ultimate impact will depend on the successful execution and validation of the PoC by Viva Republica.

  • Meta AI Forecasts Unexpected Bitcoin Price for 2026

Meta AI Forecasts Unexpected Bitcoin Price for 2026

Meta AI Forecasts Bitcoin Surge to $150,000 by 2026

Meta’s artificial intelligence division has released a Bitcoin price prediction that is poised to capture significant attention. The AI model suggests a potential trajectory for Bitcoin to reach $150,000 by the close of 2026, a forecast underpinned by several key market dynamics.

The Bull Case: Halving Cycles and ETF Inflows

The optimistic outlook for Bitcoin is heavily influenced by its historical four-year halving cycle. Currently trading around $64,000, Bitcoin has historically seen major rallies following the halving events, typically peaking in the fourth quarter of the subsequent year. The recent halving has effectively cut the rate of new Bitcoin supply entering the market by half.

This supply reduction, coupled with anticipated positive flows into Bitcoin Exchange-Traded Funds (ETFs) – which could eventually reach $250 billion in assets – and potential regulatory clarity from the CLARITY Act progressing through Washington, creates a favorable environment for substantial capital inflows.

Furthermore, financial advisors have maintained significant holdings of over 150,000 BTC, with minimal trimming of positions even during periods of record outflows, indicating a strong underlying conviction. The prospect of Federal Reserve interest rate cuts and an increasing number of corporate treasuries allocating capital to Bitcoin further bolster the macro backdrop, shifting from a potential headwind to a tailwind for the cryptocurrency.

Wall Street’s Optimism and Potential Risks

Major financial institutions are also projecting significant upside for Bitcoin. Galaxy Digital has forecast a price of $200,000, JPMorgan anticipates $170,000, and Bernstein aligns with the $150,000 base case. These projections represent gains well exceeding 100% from current levels.

However, the bear case remains a consideration. Persistent ETF outflows and a broader market drying up of risk appetite could see Bitcoin fall below $60,000, potentially testing levels around $50,000 or $58,000. Such a decline would challenge investors who entered the market expecting a continuous upward trend.

Despite these risks, on-chain activity has recently shifted into a bullish phase, and long-term holders are demonstrating a reluctance to sell, providing a degree of stability to the market floor.

Technical Analysis: Charting the Path Forward

From a technical perspective, Bitcoin is currently trading around $64,548, having recently bounced off a multi-month base. Earlier this year, the cryptocurrency formed a double top near $128,000 before experiencing a significant pullback to the low $60,000s. This correction appears to be a healthy consolidation within a larger uptrend rather than a trend reversal. Key support levels are identified around $60,000, with a more substantial cushion near $50,000 if selling pressure intensifies.

On the resistance side, the $80,000 mark presents the initial hurdle, followed by $100,000, and then the prior high of approximately $128,000. The Relative Strength Index (RSI) is currently at 37.25, below its signal line of 40.88, indicating that momentum is subdued and leaning soft. This suggests that sellers currently hold a slight short-term advantage, though the RSI is far from oversold territory, which would typically signal panic.

Overall momentum is neutral to cautious, reflecting a market pausing before its next significant move. A reclaim of $80,000 and its subsequent flip into support could elevate the six-figure target from an ambitious goal to a more probable next destination on the chart.

The Rotation in Motion: Beyond Established Assets

Many investors only recognize market rotations after they have concluded. Currently, a significant shift is still underway. Large-cap cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, Ethereum, and XRP have been consolidating, testing resistance levels for weeks as the macro catalysts that could drive them higher are repeatedly pushed back. Remaining in these assets simply waiting for external decisions to influence price movements can be characterized as being in a queue rather than an active investment position.

Experienced capital, having navigated multiple market cycles, tends to reposition itself proactively, often before a move becomes apparent to the broader market. This early-stage repositioning is particularly impactful for smaller market cap projects, where relatively modest capital can lead to substantial price appreciation. This asymmetry represents unpriced information, as the market has yet to fully value the project’s potential, and the gap between its current price and future recognition is where significant gains are realized.

    LiquidChain: Addressing DeFi Fragmentation

The decentralized finance (DeFi) landscape is currently hampered by fragmentation, with Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana operating with isolated liquidity pools. Users bridging assets between these ecosystems incur costs through fees, slippage, and failed transactions.

LiquidChain aims to address this by merging these three ecosystems into a single execution layer. This would allow for a “deploy once, reach every chain” model, eliminating additional costs associated with cross-chain transfers.

    The LiquidChain Presale Opportunity

This innovative approach has yet to be fully priced into the market. LiquidChain’s presale is currently priced at $0.01454, having raised approximately $820,000 to date. This represents an early-stage opportunity, distinct from the more predictable, albeit capped, growth offered by established cryptocurrencies. The LiquidChain trade is characterized by its earlier stage, potentially rougher path, and a target that is not yet clearly defined.

  • Roman Storm Conviction Highlights CLARITY Act Section 604 Limitations

Roman Storm Conviction Highlights CLARITY Act Section 604 Limitations

Senator Lummis has placed Section 604 of the CLARITY Act at the core of her advocacy for developer protections, citing the August 6, 2025 conviction of Tornado Cash co-founder Roman Storm as definitive proof that open-source developers face real criminal liability under existing law.

    A Statutory Safe Harbor

The provision aims to establish a federal safe harbor, exempting software developers who do not hold custody of user assets from being classified as money transmitters. This would serve as a direct legislative counter to the prosecution’s strategy that led to Storm’s trial.

The bill previously passed the House of Representatives with a 294-134 vote in July 2025 and was advanced by the Senate Banking Committee with a 15-9 vote in May 2026. However, it has yet to receive a vote on the Senate floor.

    Nuances of the Provision

The actual scope of the provision is more narrowly defined than industry proponents often suggest, and its limitations are more significant than its supporters typically acknowledge.

The Digital Asset Market Clarity Act secured broad bipartisan support in the House, passing with a 294-134 margin in July 2025, reflecting a shared desire to bring regulatory clarity to cryptocurrency markets. The Senate Banking Committee followed suit in May 2026, voting 15-9 to move the bill forward. However, its progression to a full Senate vote remains procedurally uncertain, with no date set and ongoing inter-committee disputes unresolved.

The Roman Storm Case as a Catalyst

Senator Lummis has explicitly identified the Roman Storm case as the primary impetus for the bill. Storm, a co-founder of Tornado Cash, an open-source privacy protocol built on Ethereum, was convicted of conspiracy to operate an unlicensed money transmitting business. The jury was unable to reach a verdict on the more serious charges of conspiracy to commit money laundering and conspiracy to violate sanctions. The conviction carries a maximum sentence of five years.

In June, over 60 CEOs and founders from prominent companies including Coinbase, Uniswap, Kraken, a16z crypto, and Paradigm, sent a letter to Senate leadership, declaring Section 604 a non-negotiable requirement for their support of the broader legislation.

    Legislative Intent and Legal Architecture

“Software developers should not need an army of lawyers to know if their code is legal. The Clarity Act ends that absurdity,” Lummis stated. This framing aligns with the legislative intent, though the provision’s effectiveness hinges on the specific legal framework of Section 604.

Section 604 is derived from the Blockchain Regulatory Certainty Act (BRCA), first introduced in 2018 and subsequently integrated into the CLARITY Act after multiple reintroductions. The operative text clarifies that a developer or provider who does not have control over user funds will not be considered a money transmitting business under 31 U.S.C. § 5330, nor engaged in money transmitting under 18 U.S.C. § 1960, solely by virtue of publishing distributed ledger software, offering self-custody tools, or operating infrastructure nodes.

    Closing Regulatory Gaps

The Clarity Act is intended to close loopholes that illicit actors exploit, arguing that regulatory ambiguity not only hinders legitimate builders but also benefits criminals. The provision codifies existing administrative guidance from FinCEN’s 2019 statement, which held that non-custodial developers who do not control user funds are not money transmitters.

The critical determinant is the “non-controlling” test. A developer qualifies if they lack the legal authority to control user transactions, the unilateral ability to initiate transactions on demand, and the capacity to complete transfers without the approval of another party. Non-custodial protocols, by their nature, satisfy these criteria, as smart contracts execute autonomously, and developers do not possess keys to move funds. Tornado Cash exemplifies this architecture.

Under Section 604, the act of writing and deploying such code would not, in isolation, classify Storm as a money transmitter under federal law.

    A Comprehensive Framework

Section 604 is complemented by Section 601, which delineates SEC registration requirements for non-custodial software builders, and Section 207, which provides a commodities-law exemption. Together, these sections form a three-part framework that positions open-source developers as technical publishers rather than financial intermediaries. This structure is significant for the broader regulatory landscape of decentralized finance, extending beyond privacy tools.

  • GhostSwap Launches Public API for Keyless Crypto Swaps

GhostSwap Launches Public API for Keyless Crypto Swaps

GhostSwap Unveils Public, Keyless API for Real-Time Crypto Swap Rates

GhostSwap has launched a new public swap-rate API, offering developers instant access to live cryptocurrency exchange rates without the need for an API key. This new endpoint provides access to GhostSwap’s best available swap rates across more than 1,600 cryptocurrency pairs, along with minimum and maximum swap limits, through a simple, CORS-enabled interface designed for rapid integration.

Historically, access to live crypto swap pricing has been largely restricted to partners, approved integrations, or developers willing to navigate complex API key and onboarding processes. GhostSwap aims to democratize this access, enabling anyone building a wallet, trading bot, portfolio dashboard, or crypto comparison website to integrate real-time swap data in minutes rather than days.

More significantly, this launch establishes an open and permissionless infrastructure. By making its pricing layer publicly available, GhostSwap empowers builders of all scales to experiment, prototype, and deploy crypto-powered applications without requiring prior access requests.

The public endpoint is a direct extension of GhostSwap’s existing aggregated liquidity engine. It is accessible immediately via a straightforward POST request to the /v1/quotes endpoint. The request requires three primary parameters: from (the token being sold), to (the token being bought), and amountFrom (the quantity to swap).

In return, the API delivers the live best available rate alongside the minimum and maximum swappable amounts for the specified pair. This “min/max” data is critical, preventing developers from querying rates that appear attractive but are not practically executable due to liquidity depth limitations. GhostSwap eliminates an extra validation step for developers, ensuring the displayed rate is actionable.

The API boasts extensive coverage, supporting over 1,600 cryptocurrency pairs. This includes major assets like BTC, ETH, and SOL, across a wide array of EVM-compatible chains and popular layer-2 networks, positioning it as a comprehensive source for pricing data within the multi-chain ecosystem.

Crucially for modern web development, the API includes CORS (Cross-Origin Resource Sharing) support. This feature eliminates the need for developers to set up a backend proxy solely to fetch price data, enabling direct browser-based requests.

API keys have long served as gatekeepers in the web3 data economy, imposing a significant development overhead. Before even testing a response, developers typically face account creation, email verification, credential generation, and secure storage requirements. For client-side applications, keys introduce the inherent risk of secret management, often forcing teams to build server-side routes to protect credentials from the browser.

GhostSwap’s keyless approach eradicates this friction, transforming a multi-day administrative task into a swift, thirty-second integration process.

This innovation unlocks immediate value in three key areas:

    Browser-Based Builders and Frontends

Frontend developers can now embed live swap rates directly into their user interfaces without the burden of managing a backend. Whether it’s a portfolio tracker displaying exit liquidity, a DeFi dashboard comparing rates, or a gaming application showing token values, data flows directly from GhostSwap to the user’s screen with minimal latency and zero infrastructure overhead.

    Trading Bots and Automated Strategies

For arbitrage bots and algorithmic traders, speed and uptime are paramount. By removing the complexities of API key rotation, expiration handling, and authentication error states, GhostSwap provides a more resilient data stream. Bots can continuously poll the public endpoint, reacting to market movements without the risk of authentication layer disruptions.

    Price-Display and Comparison Sites

Aggregators and comparison platforms can now pull rates alongside those from other exchanges, offering users transparent pricing. As the endpoint requires no commercial agreement, these sites can deploy updates instantly, incorporating new pairs as GhostSwap adds support without the delays associated with contract renewals or partner approvals.

This launch represents a philosophical stance on the nature of pricing data. In traditional finance and significant portions of the crypto space, exchange rates are often treated as proprietary assets, subject to licensing, monetization, and control.

GhostSwap is actively challenging this model. By releasing rates as a public utility, the company aligns its data layer with the ethos of its core product. This mirrors GhostSwap’s primary interface, which offers a no-KYC crypto swap API and trading experience, extending its permissionless philosophy from the transaction layer to the information layer.

The implications for the broader ecosystem are substantial. When pricing data is open, the barrier to entry for innovation is dramatically lowered. A solo developer at a hackathon gains the same access to GhostSwap’s aggregated liquidity as a well-funded institutional partner.

AI agents and autonomous scripts can fetch rates without prior authorization, paving the way for a new generation of dynamic, agentic applications that respond to market conditions in real time. Analytics platforms can ingest this data for research purposes without navigating lengthy data-licensing legal reviews.

Permissionless access fosters competition, transparency, and resilience. Publicly available rates can be audited, compared, and challenged by the community, holding the provider accountable and assuring users of the fairness of the displayed price.

For developers eager to begin, the process is remarkably straightforward. There are no partner applications to complete, no “contact sales” buttons to click, and no secret keys to manage in configuration files. Developers can consult the GhostSwap API documentation, structure their POST payload with the desired pair, and begin parsing the JSON response.

The rate limits are calibrated to support substantial production traffic while preventing network abuse, making the endpoint suitable for both high-frequency polling and occasional user-triggered price checks.

In essence, GhostSwap is establishing a new benchmark for the distribution of swap-rate data, transforming its pricing engine into a foundational layer upon which anyone can build.

For developers creating a wallet over a weekend, bots scanning for cross-chain arbitrage opportunities, or websites aiming to provide the most transparent price comparisons, the public swap-rate API removes a primary and often frustrating hurdle.

The infrastructure is open, and the rates are live. The only remaining element is your integration.

  • Algorand Aims for Quantum Resistance by 2027

Algorand Aims for Quantum Resistance by 2027

Algorand Aims for Quantum Resistance by 2027

The Proof-of-Stake (PoS) blockchain network, Algorand, has announced its intention to achieve quantum resistance by the end of 2027, a move that comes amid growing concerns about the potential threat of quantum computing to cryptocurrency security.

In a recent blog post, the Algorand team highlighted the significant risk that quantum computing poses to the security of blockchain technology. To address this, the network has laid out a comprehensive roadmap detailing its research, plans, progress, and milestones in the field of post-quantum cryptography (PQC).

Algorand has been recognized by Google Quantum AI as one of the smart-contract platforms capable of implementing PQC. The network has already conducted its first PQC-secured transaction in 2025 and aims to complete its full transition to PQC within the next two years.

“Post-quantum migration is a balancing act,” the Algorand team stated. “Moving too slowly leaves systems exposed to future quantum attacks, but moving too quickly can mean relying on algorithms and implementations that have not yet been sufficiently battle-tested.”

The initial phase of Algorand’s roadmap involves introducing native post-quantum account support in a protocol release scheduled for the third quarter of 2026. While Falcon accounts, previously enabled via the Algorand Virtual Machine (AVM), have demonstrated the feasibility of post-quantum signatures on the protocol, they are not yet natively supported by the ledger. The forthcoming native support will enable network-level compatibility with multiple concurrent signature schemes.

Following the standardization of a new derivation scheme for lattice-based post-quantum keys, Algorand plans to integrate PQC updates across its suite of tools, including legacy software development kits (SDKs), hardware wallets, and AlgoKit. The network will eventually extend support to additional signature schemes for traditional Ed25519 accounts.

Throughout these upgrades, Algorand is committed to fostering an environment that allows for the seamless integration of future advancements with minimal disruption to the protocol.

“Building on our robust history of native multisig, the arrival of cryptographic agility and native post-quantum accounts enables us to deploy native multisig support for multi-cryptography schemes by the end of 2026,” the team explained. “We view this as an essential advancement for institutional operations, treasury management, and high-stakes financial applications.”

A subsequent step in the roadmap will explore post-quantum multisignatures as a generic policy layer, enabling weighted approvals, hybrid combinations of classical and post-quantum signers, and the incorporation of future PQC signature algorithms as they become standardized. This measure is designed to provide robust protection against both current and future quantum-era threats.

Algorand is not alone in its pursuit of quantum resistance; other blockchain networks, including Ethereum and Ripple, are also actively working towards this critical milestone.

  • XRP, SOL, HYPE Draw Capital Over BTC, ETH

XRP, SOL, HYPE Draw Capital Over BTC, ETH

Capital Flows Diverge: XRP, Solana, and Hype ETFs Outperform Bitcoin and Ethereum Amid Market Stagnation

While investors are withdrawing funds from spot exchange-traded funds (ETFs) tracking Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH), a contrasting trend is emerging for ETFs focused on XRP, Solana (SOL), and Hype (HYPE). These altcoin-tracking ETFs continue to attract net inflows, even as the broader cryptocurrency market stagnates and uncertainty mounts.

    XRP ETFs Show Persistent Strength

CryptoPotato has consistently reported on the robust performance of Ripple-related ETFs in recent weeks. This resilience is notable given that many digital assets, including XRP, have experienced significant losses and hit multi-year lows. Despite the market downturn, investors utilizing these Wall Street-traded financial instruments have remained active, with net inflows dominating for months. In fact, since mid-March, there have been only two weeks where these ETFs recorded net outflows.

The most recent trading week, which comprised only four days, also concluded with positive net inflows. Data from SoSoValue indicates that XRP ETFs attracted $2.82 million on Monday, $5.30 million on Tuesday, and $2.55 million on Thursday. With Wednesday seeing no activity, the week closed with total net inflows of $10.66 million. Cumulatively, these inflows have now reached an all-time high of $1.45 billion.

Solana and Hype ETFs Also See Strong Inflows

Solana ETFs have also demonstrated significant investor interest, attracting over $7 million in net inflows over the past week. This follows a previous week that saw $2.58 million in net outflows.

Hype, in particular, is emerging as a current market standout. Its associated ETFs experienced their third-best week on record, drawing in nearly $28 million. Furthermore, Hype ETFs have maintained a consistent streak of net inflows for six consecutive weeks since their inception in mid-May.

This performance is particularly striking considering the broader market sentiment. Over the same six-week period, the cryptocurrency market has been characterized by significant volatility and fear, uncertainty, and doubt (FUD), especially at the beginning of June when many assets plummeted to multi-year lows. Hype ETFs have managed to attract approximately $185 million in net inflows during these challenging six weeks.

Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs Face Outflows

In stark contrast to the altcoin ETFs, funds tracking the two largest cryptocurrencies by market capitalization are experiencing significant outflows. Spot BTC ETFs have seen more than $226 million withdrawn in the past week alone. Over the same six-week period during which Hype and XRP ETFs have consistently seen positive inflows, BTC ETFs have collectively shed roughly $5 billion.

Spot Ethereum ETFs are in a similarly unfavorable position, currently on a six-week streak of negative net inflows that has pushed total outflows for these funds down by nearly $1 billion.

This divergence raises a key question for market observers: are investors merely engaging in seasonal rotation, shifting capital from larger-cap digital assets to smaller altcoins, or have they fundamentally shifted their focus away from Bitcoin and Ethereum towards newer market entrants?

  • Bitcoin Eyes Upside Amid Franklin Templeton Dividend Push

Bitcoin Eyes Upside Amid Franklin Templeton Dividend Push

Franklin Templeton Files for ETFs That Reinvest Stock Dividends into Bitcoin

Franklin Templeton has filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) for two innovative exchange-traded funds (ETFs) that will directly channel corporate stock dividends into Bitcoin. This development is poised to inject bullish sentiment into Bitcoin price predictions, even as the cryptocurrency currently trades within a bearish range.

The structure of these new funds is considered genuinely novel and has the potential to significantly influence Bitcoin’s price, particularly against a backdrop of favorable macroeconomic conditions and institutional positioning that suggests a bullish outlook, especially in light of the US-Iran-Israel peace deal.

Novel ETF Structure to Drive Bitcoin Exposure

The two proposed ETFs, the Franklin U.S. Equity Bitcoin DRIP Index ETF and the Franklin U.S. Innovation Bitcoin DRIP Index ETF, will each hold a basket of U.S. equities. Crucially, instead of reinvesting dividend payments back into additional shares of the underlying stocks, these funds will systematically redirect those dividends to gain exposure to Bitcoin.

Both indices are designed to begin with a 5% weighting in Bitcoin. This exposure will be capped at 20% and adjusted quarterly during rebalancing. While the filings are preliminary and do not yet list any fees, the ETFs could potentially become effective as early as September 1, 2026, adhering to a 75-day rule utilized by Franklin.

Franklin Templeton’s existing spot Bitcoin ETF, EZBC, has already amassed $358.9 million in net assets and seen $329.6 million in cumulative net inflows, underscoring the firm’s capacity to attract substantial cryptocurrency capital.

This move by Franklin Templeton aligns with a broader trend of increasing institutional interest in digital assets. Bloomberg Intelligence’s James Seyffart noted over 100 ETF filings in the pipeline at the close of last year, with Bitwise forecasting the launch of more than 100 crypto ETFs in 2026.

Bitcoin Faces Technical Hurdles Amidst Market Volatility

Currently, Bitcoin is trading within a broad range of $62,500 to $64,000, remaining approximately 50% below its all-time high. The technical outlook is complex, with analysts identifying $61,500 as a critical breakdown level. A confirmed settlement below this point could open the door to the major support zone between $59,000 and $60,000.

Liquidity conditions are also a significant factor. The Juneteenth U.S. market holiday is expected to thin order books, historically amplifying intraday swings on days with low conviction. While not a cause for panic, this suggests a need for careful position sizing.

Should Bitcoin reclaim the $65,000 level on above-average trading volume, it could validate the DRIP filing news as a positive demand signal, potentially leading to institutional follow-through that pushes prices toward previous swing highs.

Conversely, a daily close below $61,500 would shift the near-term technical structure to bearish, with the $59,000–$60,000 range representing the next significant demand zone. Franklin Templeton executive Tony Pecore anticipates that Bitcoin could surpass its prior all-time high in 2026, driven by institutional adoption, though this does not negate the short-term technical risks.

Longer-term price models remain bullish on Bitcoin through the end of the year. However, the immediate setup appears to be a retest of support rather than a confirmed breakout. Vigilance around the $61,500 level is advised.

At current levels, spot Bitcoin offers asymmetric upside potential if institutional flows continue to grow. However, the risk-reward profile differs significantly from when Bitcoin traded at much lower prices.

Traders already holding Bitcoin exposure are largely awaiting macroeconomic resolutions and the approval timelines for new ETFs. Those seeking earlier-stage leverage within the Bitcoin ecosystem are reportedly exploring infrastructure plays that have not yet been fully priced into the market.

One such project, Bitcoin Hyper ($HYPER), is positioning itself as the first Bitcoin Layer 2 solution with Solana Virtual Machine (SVM) integration. This combination aims to address Bitcoin’s core limitations, including slow throughput, high transaction fees, and restricted programmability. The project promises sub-second finality and low-cost smart contract execution built upon Bitcoin’s security layer, capabilities that the base Bitcoin chain cannot inherently provide. The presale has reportedly raised over $32 million at a current price of $0.0136, with staking options available for early participants. A decentralized bridge for Bitcoin transfers is also part of its infrastructure offering.

Franklin Templeton’s recent filing can be interpreted as a signal of growing institutional appetite for Bitcoin-adjacent infrastructure.

ETH Price Surge Ahead? Analysts Target $5K Amidst Caution

Ethereum’s Stagnant Price Masks Potential Breakout, Analysts Say

Ethereum’s price action on a macro scale has presented a puzzle, with the cryptocurrency trading at virtually the same level it occupied in March 2021. Despite this prolonged period of stagnation, two prominent cryptocurrency analysts on X (formerly Twitter) have identified a significant potential breakout that could propel ETH toward its all-time high. However, a substantial obstacle remains.

Ali Martinez, in a recent post, highlighted that ETH was priced around $1,700 in March 2021, a figure it mirrors today. This means a hypothetical $10,000 investment made five years ago would still be worth approximately $10,000. While the altcoin achieved several record highs in the intervening years, it has since retreated to its previous baseline, marking a substantial 65% decline from its last peak in 2025.

“Despite five years of severe volatility, explosive bull runs, and deep bear-market liquidations, ETH has posted zero net gains from that baseline,” Martinez observed.

Furthermore, he reiterated his earlier predictions that ETH may not have reached its bottom for the current cycle. While he previously suggested $700 as a potential floor, he now points to the $1,060 level as a critical value zone to monitor. If Ethereum can successfully defend this macro support, Martinez added, it could pave the way for a short-to-mid-term rally to $2,850 or even $4,630.

Fellow analyst Michaël van de Poppe expressed an even more optimistic outlook for the asset. While refraining from specific price targets, he suggested that the current moment might represent “one of the best times to be buying ETH.” He further posited that investors will likely regret not acquiring more ETH in five to ten years.

Van de Poppe’s remarks were in response to an observation by analyst James Easton, who noted that individuals often “give up right before the fun part,” tagging Ethereum’s token in his commentary.

Bitcoin’s Next Surge: Analyst Predicts Timing

Bitcoin’s Price Plunge Sparks ‘Dead Cat Bounce’ Speculation

Bitcoin’s recent slide to just under $60,000 marks a significant correction, with the cryptocurrency shedding over 53% of its value since its all-time high in October of last year. Despite the steep decline, some analysts are suggesting that the digital asset may be at or nearing its bottom.

    Contrasting Views on Market Sentiment

Analyst Michaël van de Poppe pointed to on-chain metrics that he believes indicate an impending end to the bear market. In contrast, Merlijn The Trader offered a more provocative take, stating that “Bitcoin looks dead,” a sentiment he suggests could be the very catalyst needed for a substantial price rebound.

Merlijn drew parallels between the current cycle and those of 2012, 2016, and 2020. In each of those instances, Bitcoin’s price experienced a prolonged period of stagnation and suppression following a significant correction that halved its value or more. It was only after overall market sentiment reached new lows that the asset embarked on a rally, leading to substantial gains and subsequent record highs.

    Historical Patterns and Potential Catalysts

“It’s good that Bitcoin looks dead right now,” Merlijn stated, arguing that this sentiment has historically preceded every cycle bottom. However, he also anticipates a further “flush” before the eventual “moonshot.”

In a separate analysis, Merlijn highlighted Bitcoin’s electrical cost – the average expense to mine a single unit. He noted that the cryptocurrency has only fallen to this level for the fifth time in 11 years. Each of the previous four occasions coincided with a “historic bottom” and preceded “massive rallies.”

On-Chain Indicators Signal a Potential Bottom

Michaël van de Poppe echoed the sentiment that Bitcoin’s bottom may already be in place for this cycle. He explained that numerous on-chain indicators are currently displaying “what we clearly want to see at these ranges: a bottoming formation on BTC.” Among these is the Puell Multiple, which has dropped to 0.65, one of its lowest historical levels.

However, Van de Poppe cautioned that Bitcoin could still consolidate at current levels for months or experience a minor dip. He pointed out that BTC has been trading sideways between $60,000 and $80,000 since the early February crash, representing a “pretty long period of consolidation.” He concluded that if the current correction does not deepen, there is no clear argument against the bottom being in place.
