  • CZ: AI Agents to Fuel Next Crypto Boom

CZ: AI Agents to Fuel Next Crypto Boom

Binance founder Changpeng Zhao, widely known as CZ in cryptocurrency circles, believes that artificial intelligence agents could become a significant catalyst for the industry’s next wave of adoption.

According to Zhao, this is because autonomous AI systems are likely to adopt blockchain-based payment solutions long before traditional financial institutions can adapt to their needs.

Speaking in a comprehensive interview with Alex Thorn of Galaxy Research, Zhao articulated a logical argument for his assertion. He noted that while current AI can identify the cheapest flights, it cannot yet complete the purchase. This limitation stems from payment methods like credit cards, which typically require human intervention for swiping or authentication. The moment two-factor authentication or Know Your Customer (KYC) checks are introduced, AI agents encounter an insurmountable barrier.

In contrast, blockchain technology is inherently built with APIs, enabling autonomous systems to interact with it seamlessly, much like they would with any other software.

“Agentic trading and payments will come in a matter of months, not years, I think. And they will use crypto,” Zhao told Thorn.

He framed this not as a speculative prediction but as an inevitable outcome, given the fundamental architecture of AI agents requiring programmable infrastructure for transactions. He pointed out that much of the legacy financial system lacks this programmability.

CZ also countered the notion that AI is siphoning capital and attention away from the crypto market. He highlighted that investors are already utilizing crypto networks to trade AI-related stocks, suggesting that the AI hype is actually boosting trading volumes on blockchains rather than detracting from them.

“Even the money that went there still flows on the blockchain,” he stated.

Zhao’s core argument is that blockchain, AI, and the internet are distinct technologies that will evolve in parallel, complementing rather than competing with each other, much like the internet’s emergence did not diminish the importance of existing technologies.

The former CEO further linked this to financial inclusion, explaining to Thorn that with billions of adults still excluded from traditional banking, permissionless payment infrastructure could foster greater participation than legacy banking systems have achieved.

Zhao’s perspective is not entirely novel. In a December 2025 report, venture capital firm a16z crypto made a similar argument, positing that AI agents will necessitate payment systems capable of facilitating value transfer at internet speeds. At the time, the firm suggested that stablecoins and blockchain networks could emerge as the preferred settlement layer for machine-to-machine transactions.

However, early attempts to integrate these AI agents have not been without challenges. For instance, in April, a company named PocketOS lost its entire production database, including all backups, after an AI coding agent inadvertently deleted it through a single API call. In another incident, an AI agent known as Lobstar Wilde mistakenly transferred $450,000 worth of tokens to an individual who had requested 4 SOL, reportedly to fund a relative’s medical treatment.

  • Grayscale Sees AAVE Reaching $175

    Grayscale Sees AAVE Reaching $175

Grayscale Predicts AAVE Could Reach $175 Amidst Regulatory Clarity and RWA Adoption

New York, NY – Grayscale Research has projected that AAVE, the native token of the Aave decentralized finance (DeFi) protocol, could see its value surge to approximately $175 within the next year. This optimistic outlook hinges on the potential for clearer regulations to accelerate the adoption of tokenized real-world assets (RWAs).

The firm estimates AAVE’s current fair value to be between $80 and $100, a significant premium compared to its current trading price hovering around $73.

Grayscale highlighted Aave’s established position as the leading decentralized lending protocol, coupled with increasing stablecoin usage and the burgeoning tokenization of traditional financial assets, as key drivers for future growth. Aave functions as a digital lending platform, enabling users to deposit cryptocurrency, earn yield, and borrow against collateral via smart contracts, bypassing traditional financial intermediaries.

The broader DeFi ecosystem currently holds over $59 billion in deposits and $25 billion in outstanding loans, with Aave commanding a substantial portion of this activity. The protocol boasts nearly 200,000 monthly users and generates revenue primarily through lending spreads, treasury earnings, and income from GHO, its native overcollateralized stablecoin.

Grayscale noted a considerable strengthening of Aave’s financial performance in recent years. Between 2023 and 2025, the protocol’s revenue saw a more than sixfold increase, while maintaining a robust profitability rate of approximately 50%. The report also pointed out that Aave’s DAO treasury has, at times, held over $360 million, providing a substantial capital reserve for expansion initiatives and other community-approved projects.

A significant factor in Grayscale’s bullish forecast is Aave’s strategic push into institutional markets, particularly through its Horizon initiative. This dedicated market aims to enable institutions to leverage tokenized real-world assets as collateral for accessing DeFi liquidity. Grayscale believes that regulatory clarity surrounding digital assets and tokenized securities will be instrumental in driving the adoption of these products, consequently boosting loan growth and protocol revenues.

Further catalysts identified by Grayscale include the continued development of GHO, the implementation of the Umbrella safety module, the forthcoming V4 protocol architecture, and the launch of a simplified Aave App designed to attract a broader, mainstream user base. Grayscale’s valuation model suggests that AAVE’s current market price reflects relatively modest long-term earnings growth, despite strong sector tailwinds. Regulatory uncertainty remains a primary reason for AAVE trading at a discount when compared to fintech companies with similar lending and revenue-generating profiles.

In a significant development last month, Aave Labs announced that its UK-based subsidiaries, Push Labs Ltd. and Push Virtual Assets Ltd., secured registration from the UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) to operate as crypto asset exchange providers. This approval also permits the companies to issue electronic money under the UK’s Electronic Money Regulations 2011.

According to Aave Labs, these registrations are crucial for establishing regulated crypto services and payment infrastructure, including solutions for on- and off-ramping stablecoins. Founder Stani Kulechov stated that these approvals will facilitate the direct integration of traditional fiat currency into the Aave ecosystem through a zero-fee on-ramp. He further indicated that these FCA approvals are part of Aave’s broader regulatory engagement across Europe, which includes pursuing a MiCA license in Ireland.

  • OpenRouter’s Fusion Offers Claude-Level AI at Low Cost as Fable 5 Disappears

OpenRouter’s Fusion Offers Claude-Level AI at Low Cost as Fable 5 Disappears

OpenRouter has launched an API built on a straightforward premise: that a carefully orchestrated ensemble of less expensive AI models can rival the performance of a single, high-cost one. The benchmark for this “expensive” model is Anthropic’s Claude Fable 5.

The new product, named Fusion, operates by sending a user’s prompt to multiple AI models simultaneously. A designated “judge” model then analyzes these parallel responses to identify consensus points, discrepancies, and omissions. Finally, a “synthesizer” model compiles this analysis into a single, coherent, and well-supported answer.

This launch arrives at a particularly opportune moment. Just last week, following the release of Fable 5 and Mythos 5, a U.S. export control directive compelled Anthropic to suspend access to these models for all non-U.S. individuals globally, citing a contentious jailbreak finding. OpenRouter seized on this development, posting to X the following day and directly addressing the resulting void with a promise of “Fable-level intelligence at half the price.”

    Introducing Fusion

Fusion, the company’s new offering, is positioned as the most intelligent compound model currently available on the market, capable of delivering Fable-level intelligence at a significantly reduced cost.

    How Fusion Works

When a prompt is submitted to Fusion, OpenRouter dispatches it concurrently to a selected group of AI models. Each model in this panel is equipped with web search and bash tool capabilities.

Following the initial response generation, a judge model scrutinizes each output, pinpointing areas of agreement, identifying contradictions, and noting any gaps in the information. Once this analytical phase is complete, a synthesizer—by default, Claude Opus 4.8—constructs the final answer, ensuring it is grounded in the preceding analysis.

The entire process is managed server-side. Users can opt for a default model panel by setting their model string to “openrouter/fusion.” Alternatively, they can integrate Fusion as a tool within their own model calls for selective use, or even construct custom panels through a no-code interface in the Fusion chatroom.

    Performance Benchmarks

OpenRouter subjected Fusion to testing on DRACO, a benchmark developed by Perplexity that utilizes real-world user research requests. In these tests, a panel comprising Fable 5, OpenAI’s GPT-5.5, and synthesized by Opus achieved a top score of 69%. A solo Fable model scored 65.3%, though it failed to complete 10% of its tasks due to its own content filters.

Of particular note is the performance of a more economical combination: Gemini 3 Flash, the open-source Chinese models Kimi K2.6 and DeepSeek V4 Pro, all fused and synthesized by Opus. This ensemble reached 64.7%, outperforming solo GPT-5.5 (60%) and solo Opus 4.8 (58.8%) and coming within one percentage point of Fable’s score, all at approximately half the cost.

Even a configuration pairing Opus 4.8 with a separate instance of itself yielded a score of 65.5%, a 6.7-point improvement over solo Opus. OpenRouter attributes roughly three-quarters of this gain to the synthesis process itself, with the remainder stemming from genuine model diversity.

One unexpected issue arose when granting the panel live web access: models surfaced DRACO’s own grading rubric within search results, a potential contamination risk that OpenRouter described as coincidental rather than intentional. The issue was resolved with a single configuration change to exclude the benchmark’s hosting domains from the search tools, and all published figures reflect this corrected run.

OpenRouter acknowledges that Fusion is not a complete substitute for Fable. DRACO’s benchmark excludes long-horizon tasks, an area where Fable is reportedly still superior. For coding tasks, Fusion functions as a tool that a coding model can call selectively, rather than a wholesale replacement. This caveat mirrors findings from Decrypt’s testing of DeepClaude, a cheaper backend alternative that maintains Claude Code’s agent loop but still lags behind Opus on the most demanding reasoning tasks.

For everyday operations, standard models remain sufficient. Fusion is designed for queries where a single model might overlook crucial details, and where multiple perspectives can provide a more comprehensive and accurate outcome.

The platform appears particularly beneficial for in-depth research, complex planning, or any scenario where identifying and resolving contradictions is paramount.

The accompanying charts clearly illustrate a key takeaway: for these types of tasks, relying solely on an expensive, single model is no longer the only path to achieving robust synthesis. A collective of readily accessible models, when fused together, can now deliver comparable results at a substantially lower price point.

    Reception and Limitations

Sentiment analysis of the launch thread indicated a roughly two-to-one positive reception. AI researcher Andrew Trask hailed the development as “a way bigger deal than it seems,” suggesting that leading AI labs will no longer hold a monopoly on cutting-edge capabilities. However, some skeptics raised concerns regarding the framing, citing poor performance in coding tasks, inadequate tool utilization, and a lack of transparency, particularly given that Fable 5 is no longer accessible for direct comparison.

Fusion operates entirely on models routed through OpenRouter’s own infrastructure, meaning it does not resolve the underlying export control issues affecting models like Fable 5. For users impacted by these restrictions, options now include Fusion panels, backend swaps like DeepClaude, or open-weight alternatives such as GLM-5.2, which may not surpass Fable but offer a viable and cost-effective solution.

  • Schwab to Launch S&P 500 Prediction Markets with Cboe

Schwab to Launch S&P 500 Prediction Markets with Cboe

Charles Schwab Eyes Prediction Markets with S&P 500 Wagers

Financial services behemoth Charles Schwab is preparing to enter the rapidly growing prediction markets sector, according to a report from The Wall Street Journal.

The discount brokerage had signaled its intentions earlier this year during its first-quarter earnings call, with CEO Rick Wurster stating the company would “likely have prediction markets.” Wurster, however, differentiated these offerings from those focused on sports, politics, and entertainment, emphasizing a focus on financial market outcomes.

Sources familiar with the matter told The Wall Street Journal that Schwab will facilitate contracts through Cboe Global Markets, enabling users to place wagers on the performance of the S&P 500, the widely followed index representing the largest publicly traded U.S. companies.

These new markets are expected to function similarly to asset price markets offered by existing prediction platforms like Kalshi and Polymarket. In these models, participants are presented with a binary choice: whether an asset will finish above or below a specified price. For instance, on Myriad, a product from Decrypt’s parent company Dastan, users can bet on whether Bitcoin will trade above or below a certain price on a given day and time.

Schwab is also reportedly planning a feature called the “Plus Zone.” This would reward users based on how closely the S&P 500’s closing price aligns with the market’s target number, offering a discounted payout even for predictions that are only partially correct.

The new prediction markets are slated for launch in the coming months. The report suggests that Schwab may eventually expand these offerings to include other indexes and key financial benchmarks.

This move follows Schwab’s recent expansion into cryptocurrency. Last month, the firm launched spot trading for Bitcoin and Ethereum for a select group of its retail customers, a rollout that began after a successful internal pilot program. Further expansion to more customers is anticipated in the coming months.

With $11.8 trillion in total customer assets, Charles Schwab has also expressed interest in the stablecoin market. CEO Rick Wurster indicated last July that offering stablecoins is “something we do want to be able to offer.”

Shares of Charles Schwab Corporation (SCHW) closed down nearly 3% on Thursday, trading around $91.70. U.S. markets will be closed on Friday in observance of the Juneteenth holiday.

Morgan Stanley Amends Filings, Paving Way for Low-Cost ETH, SOL ETFs

Morgan Stanley Amends Filings, Paving Way for Potentially Cheapest ETH, SOL ETFs

Morgan Stanley has submitted amended S-1 registration statements to the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) for its proposed Solana and Ethereum Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs). This move signals continued engagement with the regulator, though final launch dates are contingent on the SEC’s review process.

The Wall Street bank updated its filings on Thursday, revealing that both funds are slated to carry a sponsorship fee of 0.14%. This rate has drawn attention, with Bloomberg ETF analyst Eric Balchunas noting it would position the funds as the lowest-cost options globally for both Ether (ETH) and Solana (SOL) ETFs.

“Morgan Stanley Ether and Solana ETFs nearing launch. The fee on each is going to be 14bps, making them the cheapest in the U.S. and world,” Balchunas commented.

For comparative context, Grayscale’s Mini Ethereum Trust currently has the lowest sponsorship fee among ETH trusts at 0.15%. In the SOL ETF market, Franklin Templeton’s SOEZ has the lowest rate at 0.19%.

The updated documents also indicate that Morgan Stanley intends to incorporate staking arrangements for both investment products. The firm plans to stake a portion of the assets held by the ETFs to generate additional rewards. Figment and Galaxy Blockchain Infrastructure have been appointed as the staking providers for these funds.

Under these arrangements, custodians will receive a 5% fee for their services, with the remaining 95% of staking rewards flowing back into the fund. This structure means investors could potentially benefit from both the price appreciation of SOL and ETH, as well as earnings from staking activities.

Morgan Stanley initially filed its applications for the SOL and ETH ETFs in January 2026. The latest revisions mark the second time these filings have been altered. Should the SEC approve both ETFs, the Solana fund is expected to trade under the ticker MSOL, while the Ethereum fund will be listed as MSSE.

The firm also filed for its Morgan Stanley Bitcoin Trust (MSBT) around the same period. That product launched in April, debuting with $34 million on its first day and also featuring a competitive 0.14% sponsorship fee. MSBT has experienced a notable period of zero outflows since its launch, with only one day, May 29, recording capital departure.

In contrast, recent data from SoSoValue indicates that spot Bitcoin ETFs collectively saw a net outflow of $90.66 million on June 18, with many of these products experiencing negative flows in recent weeks. However, MSBT recorded its largest single-day inflow on that date, amounting to $10.43 million, bringing its total net inflow to $301 million.

  • Zuckerberg’s Meta AI Forecasts Massive XRP Surge by 2026

Zuckerberg’s Meta AI Forecasts Massive XRP Surge by 2026

Meta AI Forecasts Significant XRP Price Surge by 2026, Citing Key Catalysts

Meta AI’s latest price prediction for XRP presents a surprisingly resilient downside scenario, even as its bullish outlook targets substantial gains by the end of 2026. The artificial intelligence model suggests that XRP possesses inherent structural support, bolstered by a dedicated holder base and legal precedent, which shields it from the severe downturns often seen in other assets during bear markets.

This observation, embedded within a bearish forecast, underscores the enduring impact of the Ripple-SEC lawsuit resolution on XRP’s valuation models, more than a year after the case concluded.

Bullish Outlook Targets $3.50 to $5.00

The optimistic scenario projected by Meta AI anticipates XRP climbing from its current $1.12 level to between $3.50 and $5.00 by the close of 2026. This ambitious trajectory is underpinned by three primary catalysts.

The foundational element is regulatory clarity stemming from the Ripple-SEC case, which is expected to pave the way for increased institutional adoption in the United States and relistings on major exchanges. However, the AI model emphasizes two additional factors that lend greater substance to this bullish case.

    Utility Dominance and CBDC Partnerships

The first of these is the projected dominance of XRP’s utility, driven by increasing volumes on RippleNet’s On-Demand Liquidity (ODL) service and strategic partnerships with Central Bank Digital Currencies (CBDCs). This is expected to accelerate real-world cross-border settlement capabilities, positioning XRP specifically as a bridge asset for tokenized foreign exchange. This claim is considered more focused and defensible than broader cryptocurrency adoption narratives.

Spot XRP ETF and Post-Halving Liquidity

The third catalyst involves the potential approval of a spot XRP Exchange-Traded Fund (ETF), coupled with the liquidity influx expected after the Bitcoin halving event. Meta AI frames this combination as a potential mirror of the 2021 altcoin rally, a period characterized by aggressive capital rotation into assets perceived to have significant growth potential.

When these three catalysts converge, Meta AI envisions a path not only for XRP to reclaim its previous all-time high but to surpass it, potentially reaching new peaks.

Bearish Case Suggests Stagnation, Not Collapse

Despite the bullish projections, the bearish scenario outlined by Meta AI is notably constrained. Should macroeconomic liquidity tighten, CBDCs bypass public ledgers entirely instead of partnering with them, or Ripple’s adoption falter, XRP could face stagnation. In such a scenario, the AI predicts XRP might trade within a volatile range of $0.70 to $1.00.

Crucially, this is characterized as a stagnation scenario rather than a collapse. The structural support identified by Meta AI is seen as actively preventing a more significant decline, maintaining a floor for the asset.

    Technical Analysis Shows Range-Bound Trading

Currently trading at $1.12727, XRP’s daily chart indicates its position at the lower boundary of a range that has held firm for nearly five months without a substantial breakdown. The sharp decline from a peak of $3.65 last July was followed not by a continuation of the crash, but by a prolonged, choppy consolidation between approximately $1.20 and $1.55, a range that has contained the price since February.

The June low, near $1.05, represented the first significant test of this lower range boundary. While the subsequent bounce has been modest, it has held above this level, rather than breaking through.

This technical structure is directly relevant to Meta AI’s analysis. The $0.70 to $1.00 bearish zone lies considerably below the current trading range, implying that for this bearish scenario to materialize, XRP would need to breach a support level it has not seriously tested in approximately six months.

The more immediate technical question revolves around whether the $1.20 level will continue to act as resistance, as it has on every approach since February, or if the current bounce will successfully clear this hurdle, opening the door to the $1.55 region that has capped the range from above.

The Relative Strength Index (RSI) currently stands at 38.56, with its signal line at 37.17, a narrow gap of just under 1.5 points. These readings are among the tightest and most neutral observed within this prediction series, indicating flat momentum that neither confirms a bottom nor signals further weakness. This aligns with a chart that has exhibited sideways movement for months.

Catalysts Yet to Impact Price Action

The analysis concludes that none of the anticipated catalysts—regulatory clarity, ETF approval, or ODL volume growth—have yet exerted sufficient influence on XRP’s price to break its current range in either direction. Consequently, both the $3.50 to $5.00 bullish forecast and the $0.70 to $1.00 bearish outlook remain contingent on future developments rather than existing momentum.

As market leaders like Bitcoin, Ethereum, and XRP experience stalled price action under resistance, the catalysts required for the next upward movement, such as macroeconomic relief and sustained institutional inflows, have yet to materialize. This waiting period highlights an reliance on external factors beyond immediate control.

    Exploring Early-Stage Infrastructure Plays

In contrast to established assets, early-stage infrastructure projects operate in a different investment landscape where upside potential is not yet priced in. A relatively small capital injection can significantly impact their valuation, presenting an asymmetry that attracts certain investors.

LiquidChain is developing a solution designed to address the fragmentation of liquidity across major blockchains like Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana. Currently, moving assets between these networks is costly, time-consuming, and detrimental to user experience. LiquidChain aims to unify these disparate liquidity pools into a single execution layer, allowing developers to deploy applications once and users to interact across ecosystems seamlessly.

The LiquidChain presale is currently priced at $0.01454, with over $700,000 raised, representing an early-stage investment opportunity.

    Acknowledging Risks and Potential

The inherent risks associated with early-stage projects, including post-launch adoption, liquidity depth, and execution capabilities, are acknowledged. However, the question remains whether the potential rewards justify these uncertainties.

While established assets offer a more predictable path to a visible ceiling, LiquidChain presents an opportunity to participate in the foundational stages of a nascent ecosystem.

  • Tokenized Stocks, RWAs Lead Crypto Growth

Tokenized Stocks, RWAs Lead Crypto Growth

Tokenized Stocks Lead Crypto Sector Growth, Outpacing Meme Coins

Tokenized stocks have emerged as the fastest-growing category within the cryptocurrency market, experiencing a remarkable surge between January 2024 and May 2026. A new report from CoinGecko, which tracks the number of listed coins across major sectors, reveals that this segment expanded by an impressive 3,314.3% during the period. The number of tokenized stock offerings grew from a mere 14 to 478.

    Real World Assets Gain Traction

Following closely behind tokenized stocks, Real World Assets (RWA) also demonstrated significant growth, increasing by 1,903.1%. This category saw its coin listings climb from 64 to 1,282. The substantial expansion in both tokenized stocks and RWAs underscores a growing investor interest in integrating traditional financial assets onto blockchain networks. CoinGecko noted that the trend toward tokenizing real-world assets gained considerable momentum from late 2024 onwards.

    DeFi Remains a Dominant Force

Despite the rise of these newer categories, Decentralized Finance (DeFi) maintained its position as the largest non-meme cryptocurrency sector by the end of the study period. The number of DeFi-related coins saw a substantial increase, growing from 549 in January 2024 to 2,328 by May 2026, representing a growth rate of 324.0%.

AI-Related Coins Surge to Second Place

Another prominent trend observed during this timeframe was the rapid proliferation of AI-related cryptocurrency listings. CoinGecko reported that AI has become the second-largest listed category on its platform, experiencing a dramatic rise from 145 coins at the beginning of 2024 to 1,798 by May 2026, a growth of 1,140.0%.

In this ascent, AI-related coins surpassed Gaming (GameFi), which had held the second position for a significant portion of 2024. GameFi saw growth of nearly 263%, concluding the period with 1,379 listed coins. CoinGecko attributed the surge in the AI category to increased momentum starting in October 2024, coinciding with the launch of the AI-themed meme coin Goatseus Maximus (GOAT).

The expansion of AI in the broader tech landscape, driven by companies like OpenAI, Anthropic, and Nvidia, has fueled this trend within crypto. Key developments contributing to this growth include a rising number of AI-branded meme coins and the emergence of on-chain AI agents, which attracted considerable speculative interest and developer activity towards the end of 2024.

Meme Coin Landscape Diversifies Amidst Performance Challenges

Meme coins, while not the fastest-growing category, continued to expand in number. By May 2026, CoinGecko listed 3,287 meme coins across 10 distinct categories. Dog-themed tokens remained the largest sub-group, with 1,055 coins, following a significant boom during the 2024 meme coin frenzy, driven by traders flocking to Solana-based dog coins amid rallies for DOGE and WIF.

AI Meme emerged as another notable subcategory, growing from a negligible presence at the start of 2024 to 499 coins by May 2026 as interest in AI permeated the crypto space. The Boy’s Club ecosystem also developed into one of the largest meme coin subcategories, reaching 346 coins. PolitiFi experienced a surge in popularity leading up to the 2024 US election but saw its growth stall afterward. Chinese Meme represented the newest trend, climbing to 117 coins by May 2026.

Despite the substantial increase in meme coin listings, their market performance has been considerably less robust. Data from CryptoRank indicates that the meme coin sector has struggled to recover since its peak in 2024. Its overall market value has significantly diminished, even with several attempts at a rebound. While Dogecoin continues to hold its dominant position, most major meme coins are trading well below their previous all-time highs.

  • Gemini AI Forecasts Major XRP Surge

Gemini AI Forecasts Major XRP Surge

Google’s Gemini AI has offered a starkly defined outlook for XRP’s price trajectory over the next 90 days, hinging on a single legislative event and a potential shift in market liquidity. The AI’s assessment, particularly its word choice, signals a belief that XRP’s classification as a digital commodity, rather than an incremental development, would instantly dismantle compliance hurdles that have thus far prevented substantial allocations from sovereign wealth and pension funds.

    Regulatory Catalyst

Gemini views the proposed CLARITY Act not as a gradual catalyst but as a decisive legislative event capable of unlocking capital that has been held back by years of litigation. This framing distinguishes Gemini’s prediction from more measured adoption narratives. The bull case anticipates a breakout from XRP’s current $1.16 baseline to between $2.20 and $3.00 within the next 90 days, representing an 89% to 158% surge. The linchpin for this optimistic scenario is the pending bipartisan CLARITY Act, which is expected to reach the White House for signing.

This regulatory clarity, combined with what Gemini terms “explosive tier-1 interest”—major global banks acquiring stakes in U.S. spot XRP ETFs as cumulative inflows continue to rise—creates a setup for rapid asset re-rating. The narrative is not one of XRP gradually appreciating over years, but rather a swift influx of capital that has been waiting on the sidelines, moving in within weeks following a legal resolution.

    Liquidity Headwinds

Conversely, the bear case centers on a liquidity-driven shift. The Federal Reserve’s hawkish stance and the abandonment of forward guidance have prompted a broader market de-risking. Gemini explicitly identifies this as a systemic issue, not specific to XRP. Should XRP falter below its key psychological demand level of $1.07, momentum could fracture, leading to a sharp downside correction toward the $0.93 to $0.76 support zone. This bearish outlook does not imply XRP’s fundamental failure but rather its susceptibility to being pulled down by macroeconomic currents beyond its control.

    Technical Underpinnings

XRP is currently trading at $1.16765, hovering just above the $1.07 level that Gemini has identified as the dividing line between bullish and bearish scenarios. The daily chart illustrates the significance of this price point. After a relentless descent from a $3.65 peak in the latter half of 2025, the June low at $1.05 represented the first significant test of territory not visited since the early stages of the downtrend. The subsequent bounce, sustained over several sessions without immediate reversal, lends structural weight to the $1.07 level, elevating it beyond an arbitrary round number.

Immediate resistance is observed at $1.30, the former floor of a multi-month consolidation range that held through February to May before the recent breakdown. Reclaiming this zone would signal a shift from defense to offense for XRP’s chart. Beyond that, the $1.60 region presents the next substantial hurdle before Gemini’s $2.20 to $3.00 target gains technical credibility.

The Relative Strength Index (RSI) stands at 42.64, with the signal line at 35.94, indicating a modest but consistent positive divergence. While momentum dipped into the low 30s during the June decline, it has since climbed back above its average without reaching neutral territory. This pattern suggests a reduction in selling pressure, though not yet replaced by robust accumulation. This technical picture mirrors Gemini’s overall assessment: XRP is precariously positioned between a potential regulatory catalyst for a sharp ascent and a liquidity drain that could precipitate a significant decline, with $1.07 serving as the critical determinant.

The Rotation to the Next Frontier

The market is approaching a phase where capital shifts from established assets to emerging opportunities. Large-cap cryptocurrencies typically decelerate gradually, with compressed returns and sustained resistance levels. Bitcoin, Ethereum, and XRP are currently exhibiting this behavior, with XRP having been poised for its next major move for an extended period.

As capital seeks new avenues, it often gravitates towards early-stage presales, projects with modest raises, unproven teams, and solutions to industry-wide problems that remain unaddressed. This combination, often overlooked initially, becomes impossible to ignore as it gains traction.

    Cross-Chain Liquidity: The Unsolved Problem

Cross-chain liquidity represents such a pervasive challenge. Dominant ecosystems like Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana operate with isolated liquidity systems, lacking native interoperability. Users and developers navigating these disparate networks incur direct costs through fees, slippage, failed transactions, and time. This fragmentation is hardwired into the foundational architecture of these networks and cannot be easily patched.

LiquidChain is developing a layer designed to render this problem obsolete, creating a single execution environment that connects all three ecosystems simultaneously. This would enable a “deploy once, reach everywhere” paradigm without incurring cross-chain taxes on every interaction. The presale is currently priced at $0.01454, with over $800,000 raised, indicating that the broader market has yet to fully engage with the project.

The inherent risk profile at this stage is significant, with adoption, liquidity, and execution remaining unproven. However, projects that deliver 10x or 100x returns are typically those that address fundamental problems before the market fully recognizes them. LiquidChain is currently operating within this critical window of opportunity.

Z.AI Unveils GLM-5.2, Challenging AI Dominance with Open-Source Power

Z.AI, a Beijing-based artificial intelligence lab, has launched its latest model, GLM-5.2, on June 16, touting top-tier performance that surpasses its predecessor, GLM 5.1. The release comes as the company, which has been on the U.S. Entity List since January 2025, appears to be capitalizing on growing concerns regarding America’s approach to artificial intelligence. The past week has seen Z.AI’s stock surge by 90%, reaching a new all-time high, fueled by the ban on Anthropic’s Fable and the introduction of GLM-5.2.

    GLM-5.2 Demonstrates Strong Benchmark Performance

GLM-5.2’s performance metrics support the considerable hype surrounding its release. On the FrontierSWE benchmark, which assesses an AI agent’s ability to complete open-ended technical projects, GLM-5.2 achieved a dominance rate of 74.4. This places it closely behind Claude Opus 4.8’s 75.1 and ahead of GPT-5.5’s 72.6. In the SWE-bench Pro test, designed to evaluate the autonomous resolution of real-world GitHub issues, GLM-5.2 scored 62.1, outperforming GPT-5.5’s 58.6 and significantly exceeding its predecessor GLM-5.1’s score of 58.4.

The Artificial Analysis Intelligence Index, which aggregates nine different scores to gauge the overall quality of AI models, has recognized GLM-5.2 as the leading open-source model to date. OpenRouter’s benchmarks further position GLM-5.2 in the same performance tier as the now-banned Claude Fable 5.

    Hardware and Cost Innovations

A notable aspect of GLM-5.2’s development is the hardware utilized for its training. The model was trained exclusively on Huawei Ascend chips, with no Nvidia components involved. Emad Mostaque, founder of Stability AI, estimated the total training costs at approximately $25 million, with 80% allocated to post-training efforts. This figure represents a significant cost advantage compared to its industry peers.

As previously reported, Z.AI has been training image models on Huawei’s Ascend Atlas servers without using any American chips. GLM-5.2 builds upon this infrastructure, featuring a 744-billion-parameter mixture-of-experts model with a substantial 1 million-token context window. This is a fivefold increase from GLM-5.1’s 200,000-token limit. The model is released under an MIT license, which prevents government directives from restricting access.

Tokens are defined as the segments of text a model can process and generate, while parameters refer to the internal settings and values that dictate how a model interprets information and formulates responses.

    Developer Impact and Accessibility

For developers, the expanded context window represents a significant operational shift. Tasks such as navigating entire code repositories, performing multi-file refactors, and executing long agentic pipelines, which previously required breaking down into smaller segments, can now be handled within single API calls. The API pricing for GLM-5.2 is set at $1.40 per million input tokens and $4.40 per million output tokens, a stark contrast to Claude Opus 4.8’s $5 input and $25 output rates. The Coding Plan is available starting at approximately $18 per month and integrates directly with Claude Code, Cline, Kilo Code, and other popular agentic environments.

Local deployment of GLM-5.2 is also technically feasible. Unsloth AI has developed 2-bit GGUF quantizations that reduce the model’s size from 1.51 terabytes to 238 gigabytes while maintaining approximately 82% accuracy. However, this still necessitates a considerable 256 gigabytes of unified memory or a combination of RAM and VRAM, comparable to a fully equipped M4 Ultra Mac Studio or a workstation with a mid-range GPU and 256 gigabytes of system RAM with mixture-of-experts offloading. While substantial, this level of hardware is attainable for users seeking to run the model locally.

    Real-World Application and Economic Viability

In a practical test, GLM-5.2 was tasked with building a game that combined typing mechanics with shooter elements. While the user interface was less polished than those generated by other models, the gameplay experience was notably diverse, featuring varied scenarios across waves, shifting enemy types, and later-stage boss encounters. The model generated more varied game states than any other tested for the same task in a zero-shot setup.

The economic advantages of GLM-5.2 are most apparent in workflows requiring output diversity, such as multi-shot generation and agentic pipelines. At open-source pricing levels, the cost-effectiveness is compelling. However, for highly demanding and sustained tasks, such as the SWE-Marathon benchmark where GLM-5.2 scored 13.0 against Opus 4.8’s 26.0, a performance gap with closed-source frontier models remains.

The open-source weights for GLM-5.2 are available on HuggingFace under the MIT license, with quantized weights also accessible. Subscribers to the GLM Coding Plan can now utilize the model by specifying “GLM-5.2” in their model string. Free testing with usage constraints is also available on z.AI.
